Got this e-mail today....lol. Thousands of years ago, humans existed as members of small bands of nomadic hunters and gatherers. They lived on deer in the mountains during the summer and would go to the coast and live on fish and lobster in winter. The 2 most important events in all of history were the invention of beer and the invention of the wheel. The wheel was invented to get man to the beer. These were the foundation of modern civilization and together were the catalyst for the splitting of humanity into 2 distinct subgroups: Liberals and Conservatives. Once beer was discovered it required grain and that was the beginning of agriculture. Neither the glass bottle nor aluminum can were invented yet, so while our early human ancestors were sitting around waiting for them to be invented, they just stayed close to the brewery. That's how villages were formed. Some men spent their days tracking and killing animals to B-B-Q at night while they were drinking beer. This was the beginning of what is known as "the Conservative movement." Other men who were weaker and less skilled at hunting learned to live off the conservatives by showing up for the nightly B-B-Q's and doing the sewing, fetching and hair dressing. This was the beginning of the Liberal movement. Some of these liberal men eventually evolved into women. The rest became known as 'girliemen.' Some noteworthy liberal achievements include the domestication of cats, the invention of group therapy and group hugs and the concept of democratic voting to decide how to divide the meat and beer that conservatives provided. Over the years conservatives came to be symbolized by the largest, most powerful land animal on earth, the elephant. Liberals are symbolized by the jackass. Modern liberals like imported beer (with lime added), but most prefer white wine or imported bottled water. They eat raw fish but like their beef well done. Sushi, tofu, and French food are standard liberal fare. Another interesting revolutionary side note about liberals: most of their women have higher testosterone levels than their men. Most social workers, personal injury attorneys, journalists, dreamers in Hollywood ,group therapists and people from Joisey are liberals. Liberals invented the designated hitter rule because it wasn't "fair" to make the pitcher also bat. Conservatives drink domestic beer. They eat red meat and still provide for their women. Conservatives are big-game hunters, rodeo cowboys, lumberjacks, construction workers, firemen, medical doctors, police officers, corporate executives, soldiers, athletes and generally anyone who works productively. Conservatives who own companies hire other conservatives who want to work for a living. Liberals produce little or nothing. They like to "govern" the producers and decide what to do with the production. Liberals believe Europeans are more enlightened than Americans. That is why most of the liberals remained in Europe when conservatives were coming to America . They crept in after the Wild West was tame and created a business of trying to get MORE for nothing. Here ends today's lesson in world history: It should be noted that a Liberal may have a momentary urge to respond to the above before simply laughing and forwarding it. I had a friend in medical school who fought a few tickets and won. I wish I could remember how he did it. I do remember he'd subpoena the maintenance records for the radar guns and stuff like that....funny. Another friend of mine just fought a DUI after she refused to blow in the whatever-that-thing-is. She won too. She prob'ly should take her lumps and try to learn from this....but it's also good to learn how to make ones way through the system....lol. We rode the bikes to Hot Springs for Sunday afternoon Sushi. Awww MAAAN it was tasty. My fav is definitely the Mackerel. Sea Bass is good when you find it. Actually, the way the pack method was designed, the bridle is not in the center of the roll; rather, it is pulled out to one side before the canopy is rolled (or, more correctly, folded). We used to use and recommend the extension, like you can see in these pictures, but it really seems unecessary after thousands and thousands of pack jobs without using it. The American Psychological Association and the American Psychiatric Assiciation are widely known for theirleftist liberal leanings. Maybe they lean to the left because that's where the empirical evidence points. And sorry for calling you a fool, but it just doesn't make sense to me how this doesn't make sense to more "enlightened" people! I mean, not to insult the intelligence of farmers, but even they get this! This is not rocket science! Maybe the fact that other reasonably intelligent people don't agree with you could help YOU understand that there's more than one reasonable answer. There is NO better model or construct for the family than the traditional Mother/Father/child(ren) paradigm. You can't improve on that. Everything else is substandard at best. That's just silly. What makes other families substandard? You think my family (me and my child) is substandard next to yours? I don't. We even have an extended family of people who aren't blood relatives! GASP! They look after my child, support him, and nurture him even when I'm at [whisper]work[/whisper]. I even know families without children who are not substandard. I know a family with two dads and a child that are as ideal as any.... Now, if mom/dad/children is the best model for you and yours....then have at it. I'm sure that nothing is really comparable to being in the military.... I was a military brat early on....and I ONCE was the wife of a Navy pilot. Now I'm a doctor. Each of those experiences has its own set of demands. You'll have to help me, though, with why being in the military makes the age issue so much different than in any other situation. Age is age. As a 40 year-old resident, I "take orders" from more experienced physicians who are younger than me all the time. I appreciate that they share their experience with me. I think the age issue is only a problem if you make it one.
