I always love looking at people's photos. Here are a few from our Thanksgiving weekend in the hills around the Buffalo River. Spent it with a best old friend and her family. AND??? They have done it without the government sticking thier nose into it. That is the whole point Well, I remember people being pissed when the government stuck their noses into it and got rid of our Regular gas in favor of Unleaded. We survived. And somehow I don't think that vehicle safety has come along completely without government 'interference.' We have to have those annoying airbags. People bitched about that too. They even make us wear our seatbelts. Ugh. I'm not sure what standards there are in terms of crash safety, but I'm fairly certain they're there. Maybe Big Brother didn't interfere on vehicle weight, but somehow we were able to improve gas mileage on new vehicles while staying within stricter government standards so that we have cars that are both more eco-friendly AND safer. The biggest item to get better milage is weight. Lower it you get better gas milage and you also kill more people Well, I think our cars weigh less now than they did in the 70's. They get better gas mileage. I wonder if people survive crashes better now than then???? Ya' know what....despite the lack of sleep, the incredibly long hours, the pucker factor when the guy gets brought in after rolling over his log truck and you're the only doc with only 1 nurse....and on and on and on....I LOVE my job. LOVE it. Thrive on it. If it weren't for the hours I spent at my job (more than I spend NOT at my job), my WHOLE life would be a mess...lol. I'm GRATEFUL for my job. :) It is fun and very, very rewarding. The hard work (that certainly doesn't stop when you graduate from medical school) is well worth it. Chin up. I like the way my arm hairs bleach out in the summertime. I shave the hairs that don't....and sometimes (when time permits) the ones that do bleach but feel icky on my sheets at night. Nope. Sometimes your knowledge of a person is a much better marker of their qualities than a piece of paper marked yes or no. I tend to think that the lack of *real* knowledge of candidates is a much bigger problem for our country than knowledge of their voting record. Those are just x's and o's. I'll stick with the "creep" factor. Known her since I was a kid. Really. Up close and personal. Voting record...couldn't care less. Over the years she has come to scare me. Won't vote for her.
