Do you need evidence to belieive? Some people do Dont you think its a little interesting that we posess the ability to progress without having evidence of something? Some people "wonder" about things before they believe them. Being reasoning people, they seek evidence around those things they wonder about. Yesterday was Loving Day! So I'm a day late. Loving Day. June 12 is the anniversary of the Supreme Court decision legalizing interracial marriage. The Loving vs. Virginia decision was on June 12, 1967. Mildred and Richard Loving were married in 1958 and were arrested and plead guilty to "cohabitating as man and wife against the peace and dignity of the Commonwealth." They avoided jail time by agreeing to leave Virginia. I never heard of Loving Day before yesterday, when a guy I work with gave me that piece of trivia. Hmmm. So faith based reasoning seems to be ingrained into a reasonable mind? So, why is it so unreasonable for some to believe in even the possiblity of a Wisdom that was here before mankind? When I read her other two novels a few years ago, I had just been on another Anne Rice kick--her witch books. I love her writing too. BK's is so light and just fun to read though. A few years ago I read Poisonwood Bible and Prodigal Summer. Both were excellent! I love her writing style. Almost want to go back and re-read those two books, but tonight I'm gonna start on The Bean Trees. Anybody else read her novels? I also have REALLY loved Tom Robbins, but I think I've read all of his...lol. They crack me up....Half Asleep in Frog Pajamas...HAHA!!! Anyway, I'm ready to start reading again for the fun of it. Yep. We all think he should have made a better choice. Wish he would have. But no matter how hard we wish, he's still dead. How many of us skydivers drive home after drinking on Saturday night? Yesterday a friend's son, Wayne, was killed in a car wreck. Wayne was also the love of another friend's life. Wayne was a single dad. He recently went into AA and seemed to be doing well, but he was driving drunk and couldn't make the curve. His cousin was in the car and also died. I have a lot of experience with this, and I'm NOT very good with moving on sometimes, so you may take this with a grain of salt. The things that help me are 1) learning from my mistakes, 2) not making the same mistakes repeatedly, 3) and time. And you've GOTTA eventually let yourself off the hook. That amount of hatred will be easy to absorb. There are plenty of women, men, doctors, lawyers, CEOs who earn more than they deserve. There are homeless people to hate and those who are sympathetic with their plight. There are drug addicts, deadbeat moms and dads. There are gold diggers, and there are people on food stamps. There are people born into money who never earned a dime but have it made. There are skygods and swoopers. There is an endless list of people who can absorb that hatred.
