I have a friend who's a body builder. She's pretty hot. Was Ms. Arkansas a few years ago. Took testosterone, and so now she has to shave her facial hair every day, she grew an Adam's apple and her (ahem) [whisper]clit[/whisper] grew pretty big for that part of a woman's anatomy. These changes will never be undone even though she no longer takes testosterone. My friend said to me one day, "I am a man." As of the 1st of July (since I graduated from residency...yay me), I don't have to drive 45 miles one-way to work each day. My gas savings is SO HUGE that I haven't even LOOKED at the prices at the gas pump. I guess when living and working in the same town starts to feel normal, I'll feel it again and get pissed all over. Ya' know, I've whined a lot lately too. It's different stuff, but whining none-the-less. And shit just keeps happening...or I keep working my life in a way that's just unhealthy enough to make it happen that way. There's something to learn from it though, and what you think is gonna make it better probably won't. My bet is that after you move, or whatever it is you feel like you need to do, you'll be whining just as much until you make a change on the inside of you. I guess if I HAD to be tortured by someone, then I'm imagining that being tortured by the US nowadays would be the least painful of your examples. But somehow the thought of it turns my stomach more. There are things I expect from certain people, because people don't always do the right things, and some people do the wrong things far too often. But I try to keep the bar a bit higher for me and mine, though we screw up sometimes too. I was talking to my son the other day, who was bored becasue his friend couldn't come out and play on Sunday. He said their family has to stay home and read the bible on Sunday. What happened with your MacBook? If it's only six months old, it should still be under warranty. I've been using Apple's consumer line of laptops since I first got a G3 iBook, with no major issues. I believe them to be more durable than their pro line. I've lost a hard drive or two, but that's expected of any laptop that lives a highly mobile life. Any complex electronic device is subject to the occasional issues, be they hardware or software based. Neither Macs nor WinPC's are immune from that. In most cases, they can be repaired. If yours is only six months old, such repairs should be covered under warranty. Heck, I don't know what happened to it. I'll carry it to their store as soon as I have the time. I was using it, the screen froze, I got a message to turn it off and restart it....only problem, it wouldn't restart. I'm NOT computer savvy by any stretch, but even with my Compaq (the previous worst laptop I ever owned), it survived longer than this one before it went kaput. Ugh. My buddy Robin says she's had several other friends with MacBooks that something like this has happened with.
