It's not necessary for me to google the two terms. I have a very clear understanding of what we're talking about. There are some who would like us to believe that they are two separate processes, but I stand by what I originally said....evolution is evolution. Assertions that evolution is real on a small level but stops at some point so that it doesn't influence progression of life on a larger level don't hold water, imho. This is not the case. Google the two terms.

Ahhh but thats where your wrong. This "gravity" thing is merely a theory. Where's representation for the 'Earth Sucks' theory which is just as valid as the whole 'Gravity' thing. Sure, on a microcosmic scale one could say that 'gravity' exists, as it has been shown too in lab experiments. However, no one has been able to prove on a macrocosmic scale that the Earth is not sucking. Experiments on the moon have shown that there is far LESS of this gravity stuff available. This is because, quite obviously, more people enjoy seeing the Moon in the sky, so it does not suck quite as much. Please, get your science straight before attempting to join in a discussion dealing with such complex concepts as gravity, evolution, and god, sucks. Creationists have no problem with microevolution, it's macroevolution that the problem lies with. Macroevolution had not been observed, cannot be measured, and is largely speculative. This is why I disagree to it being taught as fact. I think that creationists came up with a way of dividing evolution into two "kinds" of evolution for the sake of holding onto some shred of hope that their creationist theory is valid. First of all the doctor isn't out breaking into homes, stealing little old ladies purses and shoving a gun in someones face to get the money. Second of all... I agree, but to compare someone who drinks occassionally with a heroin addict is a pretty inaccurate comparison. People can have a few drinks socially their who life and not become addicted. The same cannot be said about a heroin addict. The problem, then, is not so much related to decisions people make, for themselves, about things like substance use. The problem is with people threatening harm to other people. If there's no problem (or a small one) with a doctor who steals and lies in order to abuse morphine, but a BIG problem with a person who threatens harm to little old ladies to abuse heroin, then the problem is with the violence, not the substance use. I DO think there's a problem with substance abuse, but that's already regulated. I also have a big problem with regulating people's behavior two steps away from where the problem lies. Does that make sense? If we're regulating "x" behavior because "y" problem is often associated with it, then it's "y" that should be regulated....not "x." -- A conservative is just a liberal who's been mugged. There is a big difference between a Doctor, who has access to morphine, and a heroin addict whos steals and robs to get his next fix. Here we go again with the extreme examples to try and justify a point. Must be something in the water First of all, there's NOT a big difference. Do you think this doctor pays for this morphine out of his pocket??? I don't think so. Who pays for it then? He probably steals it....and lies about it.... Second of all, there's a humongous problem of doctors abusing drugs. It's not an extreme example at all. Do you want the surgeon who is removing your gallbladder (or whatever) to be actively using illegal drugs? Physicians have a responsibility NOT to abuse drugs that far exceeds (imho) that of the general population. There are a lot of addicted doctors. Not an extreme example at all.... As for them being afraid of you dying, EDUCATE EDUCATE EDUCATE. And once everyone is educated (not deluded by stories of skydiving being safer than driving), their suspicions that skydiving is dangerous will be reinforced. I agree that skydiving is the issue....and it's a legitimate issue. It's really throwing their support in their face to make a decision to skydive against their wishes when they're paying the bills. That's different than drinking beer and eating pizza. You don't hear people talking about their circle of friends getting significantly smaller, year after year, from eating pizza and drinking beer.... Jumping out of airplanes is dangerous and expensive. Her parents are helping her get an education so that she'll have a promising future. Skydiving will be there in 4 years. I think if her parents are giving her any money at all, then she still lives with their rules. Her "extra" money is only there because of their support. Skydiving is expensive. They should not have to pay for it if they don't want to. Putting a child through school is expensive, and the fact that they're willing to do that for you should be met with a certain degree of appreciation. I'd say putting off skydiving until you're financially able to support yourself would be prudent.
