I think she said it was on Oprah's list or something? The only book I've read that she recommended ended up being one of my favorite books--another Barbara Kingsolver book, "Poisonwood Bible." Last night I was at a friend's house. She was also reading that book...A Million Little Pieces. She says it's extremely well written. She didn't think she'd like it, but now she's having a hard time getting house work done for sitting and reading.... You would not even face a problem over here in Germany if you date her when she's 16. She can marry you at 16, if she likes (and her parents agree. If she's pregnant, most parents will agree Tongue) and with 18 yrs, she can do what she wants. Marry and/or vote. That's how it is in Arkansas too. 16 is the "age of consent." I don't know too many DZ's that can afford to have the prefect sized canopy for every STUDENT. When I went through AFF, I jumped a Manta. At that time I weighed about 120 lbs. Yeah....where I learned we had a Manta and a Maverone. The skinny (and more advanced...lol) students got the Maverone. The rest jumped the Manta. One time I recall a little bitty girl getting sucked up in thermals?? over and over again as a thunderstorm rolled in. and it makes me glad that, mostly, I drive. BUT....gotta tell this story again because it brings me so much joy....when I flew from Little Rock to philly to orlando to littlerock, I was "chosen" for the more extensive search on 2 of the 3 legs. From Philly to Orlando (I think) I was spread eagle getting searched when the security guy appears with my rig: Security guy: Does this belong to you? Me: Yes Security guy: Is this a parachute? Me: Yes Security guy: Do you use this to jump off of bridges? Me: No....Airplanes. Security guy: Are you going to wear this on this flight? Me: No sir.
