Understood. I was speaking theoretically, of course.

Delete the FireDaemon icon from the desktop, remove the FireDaemon entry from the Start Menu, bury the Folding directory somewhere covert like in \WINNT\Resources and few people would ever notice. Next thing you know, you have a covert folding farm. Of course, that can get you in trouble if someone does find out. I don't have to go to those extremes, but I know how they work.

Yes. But you still need to make sure that the PC gets taken out, inspected and refolded every 120 days or 24 loads of laundry, whichever comes first.
-
I can do the same with my Lodge.

No. It should be big enough to use as a car cover or small enough to wear as a toga. Anything in between is just silly.

Lisa, Blow half of it, and save the other half. At least I'm not going to be Scrooge and telling you to save it all.

Are you going to put a period at the end of that nightmare?

Roger that one, NacMac!

Be careful! A Maneschevitz hangover is an ugly thing.

And those of us that were military journalists blur the lines. However, regardless of the fact that you are a journalist, you are a soldier/sailor/airman/marine first. There are situations where things can get fuzzy though.

Holy shit! A weapon-related post where I agree with AggieDave. If people only knew how many military and other government equipment contracts were won just because somebody was the lowest bidder....

Do you have a speech problem or a fowl mouth?

You forgot to mention, "admitting total defeat in the trans-Atlantic cute baby smackdown because I'm an oaf and forgot to post new pictures of my boy".
-
Sadly, so are we.

Before you consider overclocking, think hard about why you are doing it. It is risky to your computer. You can fry components and boards pretty easily. I'm not saying don't do it, but, like jumping, be informed. I've chosen not to overclock any of my home systems, and wouldn't think of it at work. The reason is pretty simple. Fundamentally, the further you push the limits of your hardware, the higher the chance of failure. Higher temps, higher voltages and such are inherently counter to my personal goals which are stability and reliability. Some overclockers basically crank the speed up until the system gets dramatically unstable or locks up, then go back one notch. To me, there are few reasons to overclock. If I want more performance, I'll buy more RAM and a faster processor. If I want more than that, I'll go dual processor. More still? Switch to an all SCSI system and contemplate servers with quad processors. From an admin point of view, the money is well worth the reliability. Mind you, I have the budget to do what I need and I'm not a gamer. Your choices may differ.

She didn't have the required gas mask to be in close proximity to both you and Freebirds.

Very new canopies? Virtually no compunctions? Velocity nearing catastrophic? or the mundane Virtual Network Computing?

I am all about VNC.

I just added in another dual-650mhz machine. Must... Maintain... Lead....

They did lie to us about testing drugs on soldiers in the 60s, the Iran-Contra scandal, Watergate, Japanese internees in WWII, body counts in Vietnam, the spread of communism during the McCarthy era and other things. We have reason to doubt their veracity.

All you have to do is get to Maryland. Samples of all the batches will be waiting in the fridge.

Wouldn't that generally be Panty RAID 0, Panty RAID 1 or Panty RAID 5? And if you only have one panty, you can't have a Panty RAID at all!

I've got access to them, so I might as well use them. And to chip in and add to what Cajones said, it is a good cause worthy of whatever hardware you have. My farm includes some PII 266s, 300s, 350s and 450s. So you can run folding without the latest and greatest computer. I'm sure some of you with access to just a few fast computers could pass my farm of dinosaurs. At least, until I bring in some new machines.

I doubt it. They'll just claim the evidence was planted by military on behalf of the oil-industry backed puppet presidency. Or something like that. For what it is worth, I think the military is doing a good job, but W is kind of a puppet. A drawling bobble-head, if you will.

Enough of either and you end up with wet pants.
