You see, that was all just a big misunderstanding. We were trying to brew the tea in the traditional British style, but someone got carried away with the plunger, and all the tea ended up flushed into the harbor. After that, there was a bunch of squabbling and things got tense. So we had to go to war. You know how it goes...

"Plunger tea"? Making tea with a plunger? Sorry, but the only place I use a plunger is in the toilet. Does the tea go with "Urinal biscuits"? Pouring boiling water on tea leaves, then removing the leaves is not sufficient for making tea? Criminy, man, no wonder we fought for independence. Just teasing.

Probably not. Some of us like to preserve the essential core of personality we were born with, instead of surrendering it to become a a mere "me-too". It takes more effort to retain individual thought while working as a part of a team than it does to become mindlessly subservient to the whims of another person. Just some food for thought.

Of course they are! The other services all leave some of the brains in. The Marine Corps keeps going until there is nothing left. At that point, the jar is empty and it is cheaper for the other services to fill as needed, or leave as is for sponge duties.

Good work running with the idea and getting the donation page up, Kevin. Thanks for making it easy. People, send a lot, or send a little if that's what you can. Every bit helps. Sadly, I never even met Holly. But it doesn't matter that I didn't, when it comes to supporting her family and showing them she was loved and respected. We're family here, dysfunctional or not, so we need to support those who are grieving.

In a word: bullshit. Which branch of military service you choose has no bearing on whether god likes you, even if god exists. If Marines are so much more evolved and focused on honor than the other services, why do Marines go bad? Why do Marines get punished under the UCMJ? The answer is that they are just people. Just like soldiers. Just like sailors, etc. There are good people and bad, in everything. Perhaps it is time to reacquaint yourself with the facts and tone down the rhetoric. Just a friendly suggestion.

WHere are you going? I did a 1-day course when I was a lot younger at Kitty Hawk, NC. It was a great place to learn, because you just nose into the sand dune if you biff, which I did several times. I went by myself, not in a glider ride. Of course, that is probably related to my biffing. I just have no desire to go attached, as I have no desire to ever do a tandem. Enjoy it!
