  1. 1. minibike, age 10 2. Honda trail 70, age 13 3. Kawasaki 100, age 15 4. Yamaha 360, age 17 Quit after that due to near accident scaring living shit out of me. Prefer the safety of skydiving.
  2. Spoken like a true liberal. Religion, only without the God part.
  3. I think the dropzone has a lot to do with it. At my "home" dropzone (Otter type DZ), it is kind of tough to hook up with RW people sometimes, because there's a lot of freeflyers there, and the RW people seem to be kind of a "clique" for lack of a better word. Most of them are very experienced and they are doing things well beyond my level. So I do FF jumps and work on sitflying. On the other hand, I went to a different dropzone a couple of weeks ago (Cessna DZ), and on every jump I was approached by the others on the load, and they went out of their way to include me in their RW dives, even at my low experience level. Totally different attitudes. I guess when I want to work on RW, I'll go to dropzone "B", and stick with dropzone "A" when I want to go solo.
  4. I actually borrowed a Safire 2 for 1 jump a few months ago. I don't know if it was the pack job or what, but it sniveled for like 1000 feet. That kinda scared me a little.
  5. In Reply To ------------------------------------------------------------I'd love to get a canopy that opens like a Spectre and lands like a Sabre. ------------------------------------------------------------ Me too! Have you tried the Pilot? Lovely canopy - I want one! ____________________________________________ Funny you mention the Pilot. My wife called me up not 5 minutes ago and said she wants a Pilot! I think we're gonna demo one.
  6. Mosely Braun wouldn't stand a chance. Condi Rice is far more likely in my opinion.
  7. I'm with you. I love the way my (wife's) Sabre lands, but love the way the Spectre opens. The Sabre's swoopy landings are much more fun than the step down landings on the Spectre. They both fly great, although the Sabre seems a tad more responsive. I'd love to get a canopy that opens like a Spectre and lands like a Sabre.
  8. Personally, I prefer my homebrew... :> I like your homebrew better too. But Heineken works in a pinch :0)
  9. In Reply To ------------------------------------------------------------Coming to a previously free nation near you! Hehe, I beleive it. I don't think it will be long before posting something like what you just did will set off the bells and whistles in some intel office, dispatching a swat-based-anti-terror-team to your doorstep within moments. Glad to see we haven't gotten there yet... and that you are still alive _______________________________________________ So I guess you weren't one of the people who had their FBI files snapped up and delivered to the white house for inspection - by the Clinton administration. It looks like we have gotten there...only you're blaming the wrong guy.
  10. If you're into technical/progressive metal come check out my band "WatchTower" at the Headway Festival on April 3rd in Amstelveen (a hop, skip and jump from Amsterdam). I'm the short guy in back. The website is www.headwayfestival.com if you're interested.
  11. I'm like you. I often can't find people to jump with, or can't hang with the complicated thing they're doing, so I just go by myself and work on my sitfly, which is getting reasonably stable. I do, however, much prefer to jump with others and will jump (haha) at any chance I get to join a group. It's tough working on belly skills alone with no reference point.
  12. My wife bought a Sabre 150 with very few jumps recently, and I've jumped it 3 times so far. The openings have been a little quick compared with my Spectre, but nothing violent, and the canopy flies great. I may be speaking too soon, but so far so good on this Sabre.
  13. March of Dimes is a great organization. I hope this thread will generate some donations. Good work, Ron.
  14. Man, that dog wouldn't even feed one person....
  15. "Both pale in comparison to getting a blow job, if the conservatives posting here are any indication. " The problem is not the blow job (although the most powerful man in the world putting himself in such a compromising position with someone he doesn't even know is not exactly what I'd call good decision making), the problem is that he lied about it under oath, thereby undermining the system he swore to uphold. Wagging his finger and lying to the whole country didn't help much either.
  16. "It's not right, no, but neither is doing coke, DUI, lying to the American public about WMD, etc." So, when Bill Clinton, many prominent Democrats, the UN, etc, etc, etc, also said that Iraq had WMD, was there anything wrong with that? Oh wait, it's ok because they're on "your" side.
  17. "It also has a history of being horribly biased. " Get real. Even though Drudge himself is conservative, he puts out anything on anybody, left or right. He has an unflattering article or 2 on Bush practically every day. In fact, it was on the Drudge Report that I first saw the headline about the Bush drunk driving flap in 2000.
  18. Do what you want and accept the consequences. Your boss has a right to run his business how he sees fit, and if your liberation doesn't fit in, you'll have to decide which is more important to you. It's sad that people get judged on their appearance, but it is a fact of life and if you don't accept that, then you will surely pay a price.
  19. Printing ink can be compromised by the oil in a person's skin. Also, ink remains tacky for a period of time after it is printed on the paper. This can vary with the type of paper used and weather conditions, especially high humidity.
  20. "Oh, I forgot, she was Catholic and Catholic bashing is OK these days" Dude, you forgot Jews, Baptists, and any other subset that falls under the "Judeo-Christian" umbrella. You can bash any religion except for Islam, or the religion that is liberalism. Those two are exempt.
  21. I agree. Canopy control is critical to safe skydiving. If everything else goes right, you have a 100% chance of hitting the ground under a canopy. You should know how to fly it.
  22. Maybe. Who wants to narrow it down? How 'bout just the "American" award? Then nobodys excluded.
  23. "Don't you know by now? You can say or do anything you want to White Anglo-Saxon Males and it is NOT discrimination. In fact in many areas (such as this article proves) it is encouraged. " Dude, you left out Jews. It's perfectly acceptable to trash them too, in fact it seems to be quite in vogue in many circles these days.
  24. They probably wouldn't care if it was a black guy from somewhere in the Caribbean. But a white African-American? The nerve. Once again, political correctness goes awry.
  25. If your A card is filled out you're pretty much done. Just get it stamped at your DZ and fax it in. Then check your mail. No worries.
