So what about the kids? This thread is about Gay Parents

There's a gay liberal convention coming up and I have to defend my right to attend... and all that... It's brutal. Owned by Remi #? -

That's just like saying that school integration and inter-racial marriage was up to the southern states to decide. Why are you not answering my question? Owned by Remi #? -
I'm an organ donor and an Atheist. I acknowledge that there are people out there who are not organ donors because of religious beliefs. I would not begrudge such a person one of my organs. Owned by Remi #?

Well, it's damned sure that there are straight couples out there in which the man is more "effeminate" than the woman or the woman is more "masculine" than the man. Should they be allowed to have and raise children? Owned by Remi #? -

Visiting a Public, Unencrypted Website Now a Federal Felony

The OP's article stated that he was able to access the information without any authentication. I think that what the Government is trying to prosecute on is the inclusion of a web sites Terms of Service / Use in the CFAA, as in the case against Aaron Swartz. There is proposed legislation to exclude the use of TOS violations. http://www.csoonline.com/article/726901/congresswoman-proposes-amendment-to-computer-fraud-law-honoring-aaron-swartz The government was able to bring disproportionate charges against Swartz because of the broad scope of CFAA and the wire fraud statute, wrote Representative Zoe Lofgren in a post on Tuesday on the Reddit news-sharing site in which Swartz played a key role. "It looks like the government used the vague wording of those laws to claim that violating an online service's user agreement or terms of service is a violation of the CFAA and the wire fraud statute," she said. The government was able to bring disproportionate charges against Swartz because of the broad scope of CFAA and the wire fraud statute, wrote Representative Zoe Lofgren in a post on Tuesday on the Reddit news-sharing site in which Swartz played a key role. "It looks like the government used the vague wording of those laws to claim that violating an online service's user agreement or terms of service is a violation of the CFAA and the wire fraud statute," she said. The proposed amendment to the CFAA (Section 1030(e)(6) of title 18, United States Code) excludes access in violation of an agreement or contractual obligation, such as an acceptable use policy or terms of service agreement, with an Internet service provider, Internet website, or employer, if such violation constitutes the sole basis for determining that access to a protected computer is unauthorized. As it stand, CFAA still includes TOS violations, though. Here's a snippet from the TOS section of AT&T's website (my bold): http://www.att.com/gen/general?pid=11561#15 "Violating the security of our Site is prohibited and may result in criminal and civil liability. AT&T may investigate incidents involving such violations and may involve and will cooperate with law enforcement if a criminal violation is suspected. Examples of security violations include, without limitation, unauthorized access to or use of data or systems including any attempt to probe, scan, or test the vulnerability of the Site or to breach security or authentication measures"... I think that the wording and scope of the CFAA really suck and are way too murky, but as it stands, I think he's screwed if the Government wants to pursue this. Edit so add: So in a nutshell, the current law says that violating terms of use is illegal. He violated terms of use. Owned by Remi #? -

The earlier analogy of trying every possible code on a combo lock until you succeed rings more true to me. A 2 digit combo lock would be a crappy way to secure a bike, but it doesn't mean you didn't steal it if you try all 100 possible combos until you get it unlocked and ride off on it. I remember something similar to this many years ago with a large bank's online access. Someone noticed that their account number was being passed as a URL variable, so they tried to access another account by just changing the variable and it worked. Once they'd authenticated to their own account, they could access / manipulate any other account. I don't remember the details. Maybe someone else does. It does feel wrong to me for someone to go looking for information by scripting a brute-force search for valid IDs though. That's crossing a line. Owned by Remi #? -

You mean like when a guy in a straight marriage is more effeminate than his wife? Should that couple not raise kids? Owned by Remi #? -

Having been to Brunswick many times, I think that this statement pretty much sums up the level of denial and the orders of magnitude of disconnect that the leadership of Brunswick suffer from. There's something really, really odd going on with this story. Owned by Remi #?

Jeez. When they're not claiming that gays shouldn't get married because they can't have kids, they're wringing their hands over the impact that gay marriage will have on the children of gay marriages. Relax, Chute. Most gay couples sell their children to the Catholic Church, where they'll be nurtured and educated in a really biblical way. Owned by Remi #? -

Alvin has the right of it. You don't need funding or Go-Pros. Skydivers love to talk about skydiving. Bring beer and interest. Better yet, make a skydive and then hang out. Owned by Remi #? -
I'm talking about my daughter. She was raised by her father and step mother (the parents I refer to) because I was unfit being a lesbian and all that. Owned by Remi #?

Yah... the survey misses this by an order of magnitude. Guess that they didn't realize that there are a lot of people with 1000's of jumps who jump a lot more often than once a week Owned by Remi #? -

In addition to having a gay niece, my daughter is gay. She was raised by her ex-pre-Vatican 2-Catholic turned Pentecostali dad. When she first attempted to come out to her "parents" they told her that they would rather she worshiped satan than "chose" to be gay. Owned by Remi #?

Hey, I do understand that you have no ill intent... but still, saying that "One of the purpose of having two JM's for the first few jumps is that it makes stability easier" is entirely off the mark. Those instructors are not there to make stability easier. They're there to correct and instruct when there are problems, including problems with stability. Owned by Remi #?

I have twin niece and nephew. Raised side by side, same circumstances, same guidance, same parents, same school, same teachers, same food, same toys, same books, same everything. One is straight and one is gay. I'm wondering when my nephew made the choice to be straight. Owned by Remi #?

This is terrible and potentially dangerous advice. Students need to pay attention to the instruction that they are given in training about stability, not be told that they will be stabilized by their instructors. It's very exciting to be a new jumper and very tempting to give other new jumpers advice but please try to refrain from doing it. Listen more and talk less for a while. Owned by Remi #?

I completely disagree and I've been a network admin of one sort (started with Unix) or another for almost 30 years. The biggest advantages of Windows 8 are in its more efficient use of CPU and memory. The biggest problem people have with it are simply adjusting to the new interface. This usually makes network admins kinda grumpy. It might not be that big a deal for a home user though. Some versions of Windows 8 also come with downgrade rights. I'd suggest that the OP do some reading before coming to a decision. http://www.pcmag.com/article2/0,2817,2411451,00.asp http://www.pcworld.com/article/2015107/downgrading-from-windows-8-to-7-what-you-need-to-know.html Owned by Remi #?
