  1. LMAO! Thats just about the funniest thing I've heard in a long time. Quick, go hide in your house from ANY man as long as your married. My husband and I met in a chat room and continue to go to chat rooms/bulletin boards and have conversations with the other sex - and we're both fine with it. If you're really worried about it, ask your husband if he has a problem with it. I highly doubt he will. That other guy is an ass. Jennifer Arianna Frances

  7. In the "Should I jump again" thread there was a mini discussion about static line vs. aff and I didn't want to see it get displaced. I've been on this site for 6 months now, and I don't recall seeing this subject come up, so excuse me if it has but I'm really interested. I'm starting training in the spring - which I'm assuming to AFF, but my DZ also offers Static Line. I know nothing about either, other than what was read here. I will tell you that I have an unnatural fear at the moment, of canopy control and landing. My first tandem (out of 3) had a botched landing and I'm quite terrified of landings, so much so that I didn't even offer to help land the second time. Is it possible to incorporate aspects of both into my training? Has anyone heard of it being done? Looking to learn, so advice or foresight from instructors is much appreciated, as well as those that have gone through both - not just for me, but for other aspiring students. Thanks all, Jennifer Arianna Frances

    hate winter?

I'd be in AZ if I had my way, but I can't convince the other half to go, which is funny since he's from CA. Some day.... when I'm done with school hopefully. Jennifer Arianna Frances

  15. Thanks for the vibes and good thoughts everyone. Things move quickly... Working at a hospital has its good sides - I was able to slip in through the back door to the ER and at least documented everything. I've got a lawyer as of 15 min. ago - he's going to handle everything. I've got an autobody place and a chriopractor as of 15 min. ago too. I hurt now - they say I'll really hurt tomorrow... Just hope it doesn't stop me from starting AFF. Jennifer Arianna Frances
  16. I just got my car back after 2 weeks without it, following getting rear ended at my work on the 15th. Today I'm on I-95 going to work (I work at a hospital), and its bumper to bumper traffic. I get rear ended by an old man who's going to the hospital to visit his wife. I have never had more than 1 traffic ticket, never been in an accident and now I get two in the span of 3 weeks - I don't do this to myself! I must have a big bullseye on my car! I can't tell the difference in damage to my car from the last accident (only had the car for 3 days, not enough time to repair). I'm not making the same mistake twice, doing everything by the book this time... cause now I'm hurt. My back, neck, shoulders... If I didn't have bad luck, I'd have none at all... 17. I have recently gone through this myself... lie... The Catholic church has MANY worthless rules and they don't make you a better christian if you do or do not abide by them. I'm catholic, and my husband is a baptised catholic but never received the holy communion or confirmation - as such we had to jump through hoops, and it was very frustrating to us... alot of it had to do with miss communication on the part of the priest/church. In the end, we ended up lying. My husband couldn't get his confirmation in time for the wedding so we 'promised' to get it done after the wedding. The announcement for confirmation classes was never put in the church bulletin and the priest called me at WORK(!) to yell at me that he hadn't attended confirmation classes yet. We don't go anymore... Jennifer Arianna Frances
  18. I'm not sure how to look at this thread. I have had MANY struggles with faith the last few years. I am 100% irish - boston irish to boot (which is very different LOL). Catholasism is so engrained in my family that its hard to see a time when at least one generation in my family 'served the lord' in some capacity in the church. I have gone to catholic school, received all the 'blessed sacraments' but reached a cross-road when I got married last year. I've participated in many conferences about religion - mainly with people who would fall into the baptist religion. I am grateful for that, because it gave me a different view on religion. In the end I got married in the catholic church and plan on raising my kids catholic, but I no longer see it as a requirement. The catholic religion puts MANY MANY, what I would consider, worthless rules on your relationship with God. Why do I have to confess to a priest in order to receive the body of Christ in Mass? Why can't I confess to God - he's the only one that matters anyway. Although I haven't read the bible from cover to cover, I don't believe that 'rule' is listed there. It is possible to have a relationship with God and not go through an organized religion. A persons relationship with God is very personal one, and it doesn't not REQUIRE that that person be involved with any particular religious group. I find many religions miss that point - everyones relationship with God is one in their own way. I, personally, do not feel that I need to belong to a 'group' in order to serve God or have faith in him. So however you choose to celebrate God in your life, is your business, and you should not allow others to try to dictate how that relationship should be conducted. Jennifer Arianna Frances
  19. There have been studies that show that the extra adrenaline and endorphins produced by exercise (skydiving could fall into that category) raises hormone levels making sex more desireable. Jennifer Arianna Frances
  20. Follow Up: Got a rental. Called insurance co. directly instead of dealing with lame agency. Insurance co. moves at lightning speed. Sends estimator. Sends me check for $1500 Pay for rental in full. Repairs to exhaust will cost $400 Remainder is for a new bumper which I won't be doing. $1000 to pay off credit card so I can start AFF without any $$ worries. Life is good again! Thanks for everyone advice! Jennifer Arianna Frances
  21. We're in the middle of a snow storm that will dump more than a foot of snow - and it hasn't gone above 20 degrees Franeheit (approx -12 celcius) in almost 3 weeks... I'd love just and inch - then I could go to work without shoveling my driveway Jen Arianna Frances
