Congrats Daizey! Thanks awesome!

Wow Jess! That is totally cool! Who did the tatto? Blue Moon Tatoo in Cumberland seems to be a popular choice but I've heard they changed artists so I don't know if its still as popular. Hope to see you at Jumptown this spring!!

don't believe everything you hear about Kentucky Viking... Having lived in CA, TX and New England; Kentucky has THE most friendly people around. My in-laws are in eastern kentucky, and although they live simply they are pure, good people. I love visiting. As far as Colorado - don't know much other than what I've heard, and it sounds lovely. Why do you want to know - are you moving there? Jen Arianna Frances

Quite the jump from cats to putting down the ppl that own them... this thread has gotten just a bit out of control... Jennifer ...walking away from the keyboard now.... Arianna Frances

When the hell did this turn into cats are better than dogs and vice versa?? The only people saying that right now are the people that own dogs... Jennifer Arianna Frances

Ain't that the truth! Rosa, it may be that you had a breed of cat that is very independant. There are many breeds that are different (just like dogs). I know my balinese cat follows me around where ever I go, just like a dog. She's the best companion. I take her on car trips and she's my best friend. I think it all depends on the type of cat. Ragdolls are VERY friendly were as Persians are stuck up 'furniture cats' (they're good for show). They're all different, just like dogs (and just liek people for that matter). Dismissing cats on a whole because of the actions of a few is unwarranted. Cats are great!! Jennifer Yes, I love my cats. Yes, I spend alot of time rescuing cats. Yes, I have pictures of my cats at my desk. Yes, I think of my cats all the time. Yes, planning trips revolves around caring for my cats. Yes, they take up all the room on the bed at night cause I don't want to move them (they're too cute). Yes, my cats own me, and I love it! Arianna Frances

Hope this wasn't directed at me.... perhaps you didn't really read it. its an article that was written by someone other than me... and then my post "I'm not saying I agree with it..." Jen edited to add: I think people are missing the point of the article... Arianna Frances

ya, I'm not saying I agreee with it or not... I think its very one sided, but he does have some good points. Air quality standards are a necessary thing I would think... Jennifer Arianna Frances

http://www.lewrockwell.com/greenhut/greenhut15.html Land of the Free, Home of the Slave by Steven Greenhut America is such a wonderfully free country that I thoroughly understand why the Bush administration, like the Clinton administration before it, is so eager to take our freedoms and spread them across the globe. Without the U.S. government, backwards peoples will have to labor on in their own delusions, never understanding what true liberty is all about. I am so free. If I want to paint my house, or build a deck out back, or install a new air-conditioning system, I am free to call the building inspector and get his approval first. If I want to put a new toilet in the bathroom, I am free to buy only the low-flow toilets the government approves. I am free to buy a property near the beach, provided the government Coastal Commission approves whatever I want to do with that property. That approval might take decades, and the final thing that I build will be what the commissioners want there, not what I want, but I am free nonetheless. I know I am free because this is America. And America is a free country – the best one in the whole darned world. If you don’t like our freedoms, you should move somewhere else. Any other questions? Unlike those pathetic souls in other less-free and non-free countries, I am free to open my own business, provided I pay my employees the minimum salary demanded by the government, and give them overtime in the exact proportion stated by the government, and offer them breaks that conform exactly to the standards set by government. I can operate my business in complete freedom, provided that I meet every one of the hundreds of pages of air-quality standards promulgated by the state and federal governments. I am free to offer my employees any benefits I choose, provided they are ones approved by the government. I am free to operate my building in compliance with all the building codes and standards defined by the government. I am free to place a sign on that business provided it conforms to the city’s sign ordinance. I am free to hire a lawyer to defend against the government’s charges that I discriminate because I have fewer minority employees than the government says I should have. I am free to pay a $100,000 fine if I complain that a male employee suddenly is showing up in dresses. I am free to have exactly the same number of parking spaces the government says I should have, and to follow the specific standards the government established when it gave me a conditional-use permit. True freedom always has conditions. I am free to vote in elections, provided that the ethnic balance of those elected conforms to the dictates of the Justice Department. I am free to invest money in the stock market provided I don’t take advice from anyone who knows any real information about the stock. If I do, I am free to spend several years behind bars. I am free to pay half my earnings in taxes. You know what they say, taxes are what we pay for a civilized society. Civilized and free. What more could a person ask for? I am free to get to work on government-built and managed roads, in a car that meets government safety and pollution standards. I am free to pay hundreds of dollars a year in car taxes and gas taxes. I am free to borrow money from a bank to pay these taxes provided that the lender meets every government code and offers special terms to those people the government says should get special terms. I am free to send my children to the government-run schools, where they are taught whatever the government wants them to learn. I am free to raise them exactly as the government demands, or watch child protective services take them from me and give them to a foster parent. I am free to get on an airplane and fly anywhere I want in this free country, provided that I let a government employee search my stuff and even my person. I am free to tell the federal government exactly how much I earn and let agents audit me and take me off to jail if I fail to tell them every source of income. I am free to take any drug I need or please provided it is sold by a pharmacist or a drug store. I am free to work in any sort of profession, provided that I gain the proper government-granted licenses. If I work in manufacturing, I am free to give a union a lot of money or am free to find another job. I am free to hand over my property and take a pittance in return for it when the government uses eminent domain on behalf of a politically well-connected developer. I am free to have a dog provided I buy him a government-issued license. I am not free to own a ferret, although in truth I hate those nasty little critters and don’t really want one. I am free to let a police officer search my car for any reason. I am free to let federal agents search my property, tap my phone lines, look at my library records. I am free to live my life in total freedom provided that all my choices are approved by government, all my earnings are taxed by government, and all my moves are subject to close examination by government. No wonder the Iraqi people are so eager for their American overseers to show them how this freedom thing is done. Saw this on another listing I belong to, thought someone might be interested: Has a hobby completely taken over yours or someone you know's life? We are casting for a television show about people who are so completely crazy about tv, movies, cartoons, comics, sport teams, anything, that it has completely overrun their lives... If you know anyone who would be good for the show, call me at 310-752-8403 or email me at joseph.morganella@vh1staff.com Jennifer Arianna Frances

Sorry to hear this. I haven't had bladder cancer, but have had another type of cancer and can understand a bit about the type of feelings involved. If you'd like someone to talk to I'm always here. I'll be thinking good thoughts for you. Think positive! Jennifer Arianna Frances

Good question! I checked his website, they're a fee only firm. Guess thats a good thing, cause we're not ready to make a commission only guy rich! Hell... I'd like to be rich before that happens Jennifer Arianna Frances

Ya, I use MS Money too - its really helped us get stuff under control and in 3 months we've managed to pay down $5000 in debt - so its been great for us. We have about $5000 left to pay by August (then I quit my job and go back to school), and then the savings begins. I like this guy so far, he's got me setting up a savings account with ING direct which yields a 2% interest rate (which is better than alot of savings accounts actually). We'll go back and see him in a year and start addressing the short, intermediate and long term goals. He came from a referral, so I knew what I was getting into. He doesn't want to touch any of our money until we get this, very basic, stuff out of the way; which is a good thing. Its good to know that we're on the right track

You'd have to look at it from different views as to why an ultimatum was given. My husband and I each have our own hobbies and dreams and we don't try to invade the space that comes with those. We try to be as supportive of each other in our respective hobbies/dreams because not doing so would create friction, and friction would make the relationship not work. Its not just skydiving, but everything in general. If I was dating and the person gave me an ultimatum regarding skydiving, I would take a deeper look and realize there are probably other things that aren't working either. No one should be forced to give up dreams/hobbies/aspirations at the unwarranted request of another. Jennifer Arianna Frances

oh ya - thats a given. We already invest 6% of our salaries into 401k's at work - and it goes up 1% with each pay increase. Work will put in 50% up to 4% of our salary, so its a good deal. The finanacial planner is helping us reach a bunch of goals - not just investment ones. We trying for estate planning, retirment, college funds for future kids etc. He wants us to have 3 months of salary saved up (after debt is paid down) before we look at these other things. It's gonna be a long road, but we're only 25, so its a good time to start. Jennifer Arianna Frances

I was hoping to get to talk about that stuff actually (investing)... but we didn't get that far Hopefully after we get the money saved up (which is good to do anyway) we'll get to talk about investing etc. Thanks for the perspective! Jennifer Arianna Frances

Has anyone used a financial planner before? We just came home from our first meeting with a financial planner. We found that we werethrowing money out the window every month instead of doing something constructive with it, so we made an appt. We laid out our goals - and left with our year long homework assignment - to save between $10 - 15k over the next year. Woah I'm quitting my job in September to go back to school full time (to finish a degree which should be done in December) so this could be interesting. The things I could do with that much money... So for those of you who have one - positive or negative outcomes? Seems like a great thing, just don't know how 'do-able' it is. Jennifer Arianna Frances
