  1. and didn't do anything?? I spent the weekend on my feet, on a hard cement floor selling the concept of rescue cats at RI's annual pet show/convention. I don't think I've ever been this sore... and hope I don't feel this way again! My feet are on fire, and my back (which I thought was getting better after my car accident) is really really hurting But on the bright side, we raised $1400 for abandoned siamese cats! Feel free to visit them at www.siameserescue.org - they're very special furry friends
  2. Hey I'll agree with you!! After being to 3 DZs in New England Jumptown kicks total ass! They have the vibe and welcome with open arms. I did my last of 3 tandems there and had the best time - I felt at home immediately and was so ecstatic when stuff was actually explained to me! Understanding stuff is so good! Jen Arianna Frances
  3. November 21: Chestnut Tree (the Honesty) -- of unusual stature, impressive, well-developed sense of justice, fun to be around, a planner, born diplomat, can be irritated easily, sensitive of others feelings, hard worker, sometimes acts superior, feels not understood at times, fiercely family oriented, very loyal in love, physically fit. Seems about right.... minus the physically fit part Jennifer Arianna Frances
  4. *breathe deep* It's all good. Work is work. They pay you the same to work hard as they do to just sit there today. I just got a nice ergo chair myself. My boss left yestrday so I got her AllSteel chair - its like $800! But its so nice! Just think... the countdown is less than a month now Did you find out about next weekend yet? Jen Arianna Frances
  5. ya, I thought it was good! is it a mini series or a new series? Jen Arianna Frances
  6. They're are NOT the only two people running you know.... I'm not voting for either... Jennifer Arianna Frances
  7. THey're both bad. Saturdated fats are at least natural. THese transfats are chemical fats - and margarine is one of the worst ways to get them go with 'all natural' anytime you can. ITs these convenience foods that are so bad. Remember your grandmother used to cook with lard? Thats horrible stuff, but at least it didn't have chemicals in it to do all sorts of bad stuff to you. At the most saturated fats will raise your LDL, where as transfats raise your LDL and lower your HDL - its bad bad bad bad stuff. They've known since the 50s that these were horrible, and only NOW are starting to make people aware of it. So sad the way the government messes with us. Obesity is such a problem in the US and they fail to educate us properly. I'm only just learning about them, and i'm totally appauled. Jennifer edited becuase I have no idea what my brain was thinking with some of the words I mixed up. Arianna Frances
  8. They're in everything - just depends on how much. Something can be labled transfat free - and even not label it on the nutrition facts if it has 0.5 grams of partially hydrogenated fats or less. You can't avoid them unless you purchase ONLY organic foods - which is pricey. Jennifer Arianna Frances
  9. stay away from the Kodak DX4530. I bought it. Its a 5.0 mpx camera - which is great... except its the only camera I know that makes the pictures blurry with lack of light.... which is not fixable in photoshop. Jennifer PS. I would have bought and olympus. Arianna Frances
  10. Next time you buy Chianti... try to get a 97 vintage with the rooster label on the bottle. 97 was an EXCELLENT year for chianti! When I'm out to see you in December I'll try to bring a few bottles of my favorite wines for us to sample (I'm getitng totally turned on by some of these new spanish wines). Jen Arianna Frances

    HAM Radio

its my husbands - technically becuase of my pacemaker/defibrillator, I'm not allowed to use a radio becuase of interferance problems with the radio and it. I'm saving up some $$ (for skydiving and this) to get a radio (with a 2' external mic) that will allow me to use it (I have to be 2' away from the radio). In the meantime I study cw and other stuff with my husband. We have 4 HTs at the moment - which I can't use Jen D. Arianna Frances
  12. oh yes... chianti then invite me over for dinner Jen Arianna Frances

  23. Today is a strange day. I work at RI Hospital which was where 60% of the fire victims were transported after the fire one year ago today. I work with the gentleman who first responded with the fire/rescue folks - he intentionally took today off to avoid the media. I lost 2 coworkers in the fire, and am reminded daily by the fire victims that walk around campus to see doctors etc. There will be moments of silence at various moments during the day today - 100 minutes total, for 100 people killed. Thankfully all area clubs are up to code now - but it doens't help the families that are grieving. I hope you've taken a moment to read through all of this - its long enough for that moment of silence in rememberance. Thank you, Jennifer Arianna Frances
  24. I'm a bit contemplative tonight... I'm getting geared up to start AFF (finally!) in April - but I'm aprehensive about going full force for a few reasons. 1. My husband. He's support of my decision to skydive. I have this thing about pushing limits that have been set, and skydiving is shattering a limit thats been imposed on me - and it means alot to me to do well with it... and for that he supports me. But he is far from inclusive. He will never skydive himself. He won't take chances like that - which is fine, this is my thing. I don't want to push this limit - i want things to keep going great with us; yet I've heard many people saying that a relationship where one doesn't skydive just doesn't work... someone, quick, show me examples of where it has. 2. Having hobbies other than skydiving. I do ALOT of different things. Lots of artsy craftsy stuff, and lots of volunteering. We don't have kids - so I have time for that. At the moment we have the financial means to be able to do lots of varied stuff. I know skydiving will change this. Who has hobbies outside of skydiving and is not a professional skydiver? I'm very worried about how much life could/would change with this. I want it - but I'm not so sure if I want it if the costs are too great. I like the saying "skydiving is what I do, not who I am" - just hope it holds true for the majority of you. Jennifer Arianna Frances
