City of Nashville vs Skyride court date set
timmyfitz replied to BillyVance's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
Probably weather insurance. -
To those who favor government health care:

Your opinion. If you like those plans you'll love THIS one. A poster child for why the government should be involved. They are involved in things like this. It's call fraud. Fraud is just capitalism taken to the extreme. LOL. You so funny. -

I believe that was his point. It was also mine since I already posted it.

(R)STEERING LINE BROKE TODAY,,WHAT WOULD YOU DO.
timmyfitz replied to vortexr1's topic in Safety and Training
To the OP. I don't see a problem with your thread title or that you ask what other people would do. You obviously did what you were trained to do and it worked out well for you. Asking what other people would do in this situation (or any situation) is a great way to learn and advance your skills. Nothing wrong with it at all. Stick with doing things the way you taught during your student training for now until you gain more experience and knowledge. Some of that will come from asking "what would you do?" Never stop asking questions, especially how someone else would do something. This is one of the cheapest ways you will learn. Never stop learning, ask "what would you do" often. -
Really? I perceived the opposite. Although I'll give you that Vigil has had more opportunities to make public announcements about it's products shortcomings. If you have only been in the sport 6 years Or 8 years

I wonder if he truly had another offer or was just trying to get more money out of you. Sounds like a used car salesman. Could you post a link to the ad?

I don't believe it is waterproof. Just water resistant. There is a big difference.

It's also helpful when answering questions so someone will know your experience level and how serious to take your response. I agree with twardo though. Profiles don't mean a lot to me. But as he said: "I've been around long enough to tell by the smell what's really in the box...someone asking a question like this person, often can't. ". I can smell bullshit before I read your profile.

Just completed AFF. Are the bruises normal?
timmyfitz replied to NM767's topic in Safety and Training
The bruising has more to do with how the legs straps are adjusted (not how tight they are) than whether the rigs is custom made for you. Padding and slower openings will help but it won't cure the problem if the leg straps are not properly adjusted. Your body doesn't get use to it. After thousand of jumps I still get a bruise on VERY RARE occasions when I hurry and don't take time to adjust the leg straps properly. You will learn how to adjust your leg straps properly over time to prevent this. -
Hoping to complete AFF training Sunday - A little anxious
timmyfitz replied to Mad_Jasper's topic in Safety and Training
Give it a minute. Someone will probably make a smart ass post soon to critique your post about your last two jumps and explain all the mistakes you made. Good job on completing 5 and 6. As you said the things you thought would be difficult were quite easy. Keep this in mind when you do level 7 and you'll be fine. -
Competitive swooping? No doubt. But to say that swooping now has nothing to do with swooping then, I really think you are mistaking. Remember, this is about a trend in fatality under open canopies that was seen 12 years ago and stating that swooping now has nothing to do with swooping then. Dismissing the similarities is pretty short sighted. Nobody has stated this except you. Try re-reading the post.

hey... do yourself a favor, stop saying dumb stuff and making yourself look like a fool. I can see his point. Obviously you can't. I ask a similar question to one of the members of the PD team(still is) a few years ago, something to the effect of "which canopy do you think is best for swooping". I expected him to say Velo, of course. Off the record he told me "it's more about the pilot skills than the canopy". (obviously he was talking about cross braced swooping type canopy's, not a Spectre) This same person was in canopy competitions (and flying a non-velo canopy that he swore by) before he became sponsored by PD. And several times he did finish in the top 5 or ten on the non PD canopy.

Don't forget about all the people who's IQ's drop dramatically after reading your post.

Well, I guess if you were racist and bigoted against everyone, then it's OK.

Almost 12 years! That's nearly more than an eternity. Last time I checked, in skydiving, alot can change in such a timeframe. As an example, swooping as we know it today, did not exist 12 years ago. I'm quoting this before you change your mind... What part of swooping didn't exist 12 years ago? Reminder: that was 97. He said "swooping as we know it today". Yes a lot has changed in 12 years of swooping. If you can't see changes in swooping, swooping style, swooping technique, gear and ability, then you are somewhat shortsighted. Swooping today is very different than is was 12 years ago.

Jesse Ventura talks like Kevin from "The Office"
timmyfitz replied to sundevil777's topic in Speakers Corner
The comparison was because they are both entertainment show, not science shows. Sorry if that confused you. That is why I said he is GOING to blow the lid off. Future tense. -
Jesse Ventura talks like Kevin from "The Office"
timmyfitz replied to sundevil777's topic in Speakers Corner
I have seen the previews of Conspiracy Theory and it does look like it will be good for a laugh. I don't think anyone is expecting it to be much more than an entertainment show with no real science(except ryhs). It is the new mythbusters. Jessie Ventura is going to blow the lid off the 9/11 cover up. -
Are you sure about that? Cause mine comes with LED port and it is water resistant. From the L&B website: "Hail the return of the visual warning light for audible altimeters! L&B has made the ability to increase your altitude awareness by adding a visual LED port to warn you at the altitudes you set. (by special order)" I see they are listed as water resistant but I didn't see any mention of them being waterproof. Big difference.

Not super tall but I took someone that was 6' 7" once. I am only 5' 6" . I was his little back pack. He had a perfect arch and it was one of the easiest skydives I have ever done. The landing was a different story. I think he landed a minute before I did.

Yes, that is what I was thinking. Hence my reply. Man, who pissed in your cornflakes this morning? Your responses to her questions are over-the-top rude and obnoxious. You may want to check who you are replying to. I think you meant to reply to someone else. Read my post.

It was Skyride. Enough said.
