'Cause climate change covers everything!!!! Yes, but he ask about global warming, not climate change.

Yep, those damn republicans having affairs and getting divorced. You'd never see a democrat do that. Your desperation is funny.

Pond is filled up at Lodi / Acampo Parachute Center!

No shit Sherlock! What a revelation! -
I think it's time to let it go Nova. You haven't found anyone to stand by your side for your claim of poor customer service and I doubt you will. Why? Because it wasn't poor customer service. Take a deep breath, have a beer and relax. The men in black are not out to get you.
-
When did it become poor customer service when a company apologizes for there mistake. Oh yeah, they didn't apologize 20 times.
-
Did you even think about that before you posted it? Wow.

1000+ jumps, 4 years no jumping what 2 do?
timmyfitz replied to YakkoWarner's topic in Safety and Training
The currency requirements are not part of the BSR's. It is what the USPA believes would be appropriate as far as re-currency training goes(AKA a suggestion). Can't argue with that. -
Looking at it another way. A tandem Instructor is a representative of the organizations he/she is certified by, in the USA, that's the USPA, and manufacturer(s). I'd say that it is exactly the job of the examiner to judge the suitability of the candidate, both in skills and character. Character, yes. Personality, not so much. Judging someone on a trait that is very subjective from one person to the next is not part of the criteria. There are a few people that I choose not to associate with because we have conflicting personalities. I would hope that I could judge said person on the criteria set forth and not because I don't personally get along with them.

Jumper Integrity & Logbook Veracity
timmyfitz replied to GLIDEANGLE's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
Where does it say no night tandems? you are correct, providing the passenger has a B-license. USPA has the following requirements for a night jump: J. Extraordinary skydives 1. Night, water, and demonstration jumps are to be performed only with the advice of the local USPA S&TA, Instructor Examiner, or Regional Director. [NW] The FAA has this to say about night jumps: 1. FAA regulations [FAR 105.19] require that when performing night jumps, each skydiver must display a light that is visible for at least three statute miles from the time the jumper is under an open parachute until landing. [NW] No mention of any required license by either. I ask again, where does it say not night tandems? For that matter where does it say AFF can't be done at night? Sparky Here ya go. BSR. Section 2-1, E, 9 Edit to add. From UPT from Vector Tandem manual -
The odds of winning gold at nationals is a little better when there are only a couple of people competing. Next time you see Oliver, ask him for an autographed picture of himself. He will give you one even if you don't ask for it.

"More than 1,700 scientists have agreed to sign a statement defending the "professional integrity" of global warming research" "One scientist said that he felt under pressure to sign the circular or risk losing work" Hmmm one in 1,700, or 0.06%. Sounds like typical FAUX NEWS spin. And Sorry, I had to add this because I'm sure made a genuine mistake by not including it.

I don't think it is the job of the examiner to judge a candidate on their personality or predict their future behavior. They are judged on whether they have met the criteria set forth to become a TI. If the TI turns out to be an asshat, then that would be the job of the DZO to judge the TI's "future" behavior. Is there something in the TI training manuals that explains how to judge a candidate on their personality? I haven't read those in several years so I don't know.

then lets see them. cause all i have seen is people giving you shit. but i would like to see those PM's of people on your side. hmm, i wonder why they just didnt post it in the tread? I was thinking the same thing. Hard to dispute something unseen. I know it's bad form to post PM's but I'm very skeptical they exist. From the OP, sounds like a normal transaction when mistakes are made. This may not be your definition of good customer service but in no way would I call it poor customer service. I have never had any major problems with PG. Some minor problems yes, just like yours, minor.

Weirdest Malfunction ever - packing mistake?
timmyfitz replied to mindcool's topic in Gear and Rigging
Leave NO MORE THAN 50 cm!!! Longer "free" lines = bigger chance of horse shoe Blue skies Huh? How do longer free lines(stowed in a closed container) add to the chances of a horse shoe? Am I missing something? The lines are very chaotic on deployment and longer lines have a greater chance of catching on a main flap. I've personally seen a fatality due to this. Bill Booth did some interesting work on this including slow motion video of deployments, with the lines flying about. The Vector manual specifically states "Leave no more than 15 inches (37 cm) of lines unstowed between the bag and the connector links." There IS a reason for this! I understand all that but when I think of horse shoe malfunction, I think of the container opening while the pilot chute is still stowed. -
I wanted to say that they may have used that picture because he looks like that guy named Jesus (Hay-Soos) but I was afraid it would end up in speakers corner.

I was checking my e-mail this morning on hotmail and this ad(see attached) was off to the right side. Is this the picture they want to include with their ad to make you feel like you can trust them with your mortgage?

If you don't have external headphones/speaker you can't hear the altitude warnings?

It seems you were either confused about my original post applying to U.S. rules or you were deliberately being obtuse. -
I can not understand how you came up with your user name.

Magazine Article on Jump Ships in Loop

Even when flying a UK registered plane in the UK, as discussed in a UK publication? Wow. I didn't realize the FAA was really that bad! Now really... He begins with "But when dealing with the FAA..." He also pointed out that he is talking about rules in the USA, "These are U.S. rules, of course." If you are flying a UK registered aircraft, in the UK, then you are not dealing with the FAA. How clear does he have to make it? Just to be fair, I edited to add "these are U.S. rules, of course". Although I did add it before I read Dave's post. I was editing while he was posting. I thought I should add that in case there was some confusion. -
I'm sure all the ugly sweating fat guys get the same level of service. (I'm just kidding. It's a joke)

Sorry, I didn't think I would have to explain that this was in reference to the U.S. I assumed most semi intelligent people would understand that. Obviously I was wrong. I don't think you will find a lot of private pilots from the UK flying people to a party in the Bahamas. -

If anyone is being paid, such as the DZO, then the pilot would be violating the FAR's. There was a case a few years back (non jumping related) where a pilot flew some people to party in the Bahamas (?). The person hosting the party was charging people to attend but the pilot flew a few guest to help out and did not get paid a cent. His license was suspended because someone was getting paid. This was an article in AOPA so I may be a little off on some of the details. On the other hand, if a private pilot flew jumpers and it was in no way related to a commercial operation, and he didn't charge more than a pro rated share of expenses, then it may be OK. But when dealing with the FAA, it's better to be safe than sorry. These are U.S. rules, of course.
