  1. Doesn't have to relate to a tandem jump. Use something an experienced skydiver would wear. "I jumped out of a perfectly good airplane". If you give them a shirt that brands them as a one jump tandem, when they wear it, it's going to be hard for them to lie about their skydiving experience when they are out at the bar.
  2. Since you seem to be the self appointed safety police, I'd like to see that video also. What makes you guys think I was kicked off a DZ for something skydiving related? What makes you think I have been kicked off a DZ at all? Maybe it was something in your profile. Don't see any way of interpreting it other than you have been banned from a (some) dropzone. Don't be so defensive. I'm curious why you are scouring youtube for videos from this DZ? Not an exuse for Twin Cities but I'm sure if you tried you could find bad examples from any DZ, even the one you call home, the one you haven't been banned from.
  3. With such a long layoff and not many jumps, I would bet that any dropzone is going to require you take the entire first jump course. Also, it is possible that you will be required to do most, if not all, of the student program/jumps. There are no BSR's(basic safety requirement) pertaining to recurrency but the SIM outlines recommendations for recurrency. Because of this, it will vary from DZ to DZ what is required to become current. Give the DZ's a call.
  4. This doesn't help your situation but why do you assume he will need to or want to downsize in a 100 or 200 jumps? I know a lot of people do downsize but it's not necessary to continue to have fun. You mentioned his landings are "with a bit of wind, he comes flying in on it. Fast landings". Does he need to or want to go faster? Have you talked to him about your concerns?
  5. Irrelevant. This has nothing to do with why unions strike as I have stated several times.
  6. Of course they can, and MANAGEMENT'S job is to make the best decision for the company, because THAT is what MANAGEMENT is paid to do. The union is NOT responsible for managing the company, that is the exclusive job of management. It is very hard to run a company when the employees are at the front gate picketing instead of working. I don't think management in those cases have much of a choice but to concede some of their demands or go broke waiting for the employees to change their minds. If MANAGEMENT has done such a piss-poor job of managing that the workforce decides to walk off the job, that is management's fault. You are very shortsighted if you believe this is the only reason unions strike. Reasons are irrelevant. Name me one US corporation whose incorporation documents give managerial responsibility to the unions and not to the board of directors. Swing and a miss. Two more and you're out. Kallend, your three strikes were up quite a while ago in this thread. I say that there are many reasons for a union to strike besides what you have stated and you reply with this. Pathetic but very irrelevant.
  7. He hasn't, it was high on the adgenda for his campain, and this trial is a statement to his followers that he is being serious about changing the attitude of america. Then why did you claim he did? (Post 217)
  8. Says the guy that called the PH attack a 1945 venture. Says the guy that posted a link from the Onion and called it legit and an Republican rag. (Remember that you referred to that Onion video with this: "I think it is real and legit".)
  9. I was inquiring; see the question mark on the thread title? May be new to you, but that denotes a question. Read post 100. You seem to have skipped that one. If it was only a question then you shouldn't have made the following comment. Yes lucky, you posted this. You really have a hard time admitting when you are wrong. No amount of spin is gonna change the fact that you screwed up. But if you wish, spin away.

  11. Don't worry, 888888 has mad skillzzz. He is asking a legitimate question and behaving himself. Back off and either answer the question or STFU. Sparky I had the same thought.

  14. I'm sure there is more to the story than is being reported. It is highly unlikely that a police officer would respond to a mother that calls 911 to complain that her daughter won't take a shower. I didn't have the same knee jerk reaction you did when I read the article.
  15. I don't know. I'm usually looking at the back of their head when I've been the TI. I can't tell what they are looking at.
  16. I love it when anonymous people try to defend skyride. They always sound so desperate and pathetic. I know first hand.
  17. You did see the after my post, didn't you? But thanks for the informative response. I am aware of how many there are and who(mostly women) is doing freestyle. I think I may have met all 6 of them.
  18. Here, let me refresh your memory since it was you that answered for Kallend when I responded to him. Here is what I responded to: Kallend Said "Unions can't CAUSE company management to do anything." To which I replied; "You must be naive to believe this" So you are agreeing with me and not Kallend. Thanks. Now you may want to re-read your reply's to see how we got here. (bolding mine)
  19. I guess we have different interpretations of what is meant by unions causing management to do something. On the flip side, if the company does not want to give the union the increase in pay, the union threatens to strike, and the management folds and gives them the pay increase, I think the union has caused the management to do something. Please don't try to respond with "well the management didn't have to give in". That argument doesn't work and is very weak.
  20. Not according to the wording of the second amendmend. The Foundinf father's were pretty clear that the right to bear arms was to keep the government in check. If they meant in general, they would have said: The right to bear arms shall not be infringed. I don't see that in the wording. I guess that how we interpret it differently. All I see is: "A well regulated militia, being necessary to the security of a free state, the right of the people to keep and bear arms, shall not be infringed."
  21. Should have included this in the first question but.... In addition to what you mentioned, what does the DPRE test you on besides packing and experience? ................................................................................................... You don't NEED to hold a Senior Rigger rating for three years, but it makes a lot of sense. You still need three years EXPERIENCE rigging, but few Master Riggers are willing to supervise apprentices beyond 30 pack jobs. Sometimes the FAA will allow foreign rigger ratings as partial proof of experience when applying for FAA rigger ratings. A DPRE will test Master Rigger applicants on: regulations, materials identification, sewing machine adjustment, major canopy repairs and harness repairs. For example - when Annie Helliwell tested me for my Master rigger rating - she started with quizing me about the limits of a Master Rigger's priveleges, then pulled out a stack of tape, webbing and fabric samples. I correctly identified ninety percent of the samples, but stumbled over the last ten percent. After a few minutes of scratching my head in confusion, she said "Don't worry, those last few samples are not MIL-SPEC materials." Then she handed me a damaged canopy and pointed me towards a dis-assembled sewing machine. I had to install and adjust the: bobbin case tension spring, feed dogs, throat plate, needle bar and upper tension discs before starting the canopy repair, which included patching a bottom skin very close to a lateral reinforcing tape, line attachment tab and rib seam. Finally she asked me to sew a WW stitch - with 5-cord - on Type 7 webbing. I suspect that she let me off easy on harness and container repairs since - for the preceding two years - she had seen plenty of Talons that I had repaired - under the supervision of Master Riggers and TSO Inspectors at Rigging Innovations. Cool. That answered the question. Thanks.
  22. Yeah, not to many other things. I can only think of a couple thousand off the top of my head.
  23. I've ask this question of rhys a couple of different times but no response. So where is the info that you proclaimed would come out in September, then revised to October, rhys?
  24. I guess you should have researched it more. Like I said you would spin it in your favor. Yep, your title was a question but what about this statement you made. Check your previous post or just spin away as usual.
