    Serious question. Why is the tip based on the amount of the check? It's a good starting point but here is my example. If I go into a restuarant with friends and only order a $8 appetizer and a $2 drink, my tip would be about $1.50 to $2 based upon my total bill. (based on 15% to 20%) Now lets say the person next to me orders a $25 meal and a $2 drink, his/her tip would be $4.05 to $5.40. The waiter/waitress made the same amount of trips, so essentially the same amount of work. So why the difference? (BTW, I always tip 20% in the waiter isn't a complete dick)

    I have no idea who is Jerry Springer (nor I want to). Never heard of Meet the Press as well - and I do not want to hear about it either. I'm capable to read the facts from different sources, and make my own opinion. I do not need talk shows for that. You made the comment "smart people do not watch talk shows". How can you make that judgment when you haven't seen them, any of them? Meet the press, face the nation? I doubt that their audience is comprised of dumb people. P.S. You have never heard of Jerry Springer or Meet the Press? I call B.S. I have never watched the Springer show but I am aware of him.

    Seriously? This is exactly why you should think twice about asking for advice on a public forum. The advice is correct. With such a long layoff for someone with only one jump I would expect extensive training. As for the other stuff, he said "possibly". Just depends on the dropzone policy.

If Obama's plan fails, it doesn't necessarily follow that the US would fail. It's not like he has some power where he's the only one with THE answer. Zach I see your point, but his plans are for lowering unemployment, continuing market growth, continuing GDP, bringing jobs here, etc. I see how your argument could work in relation to HC, but not to the larger overall economic issues. Maybe they are not against the goals set, but how they intend to try to get there. The end result may be different depending on the route you take to get there.

    I very much doubt that a student/novice with 51 jumps is allowed to jump without an AAD. Since he has a USPA B license and 51 jumps, he can jump without an AAD according to USPA rules. Fail again. (Unless his specific dropzone or country rules require one)

    The reason you fill out your profile is so others know your experience and how seriously to take advice from you. Yes, there are some here that may have more knowledge than jump numbers may indicate but that is the exception, not the rule. If you are the exception, then let the words you post prove it. So far you have not proven you are the exception. Jump numbers and time in sport do count for something and many correct assumptions can be made by these two factors alone. Unless of course, you have mad skillz!

    I'm flying a canopy that is over the limits of current standards.I did not choose this canopy, it was chosen by my instructor. Hope this helps. You have confirmed my suspicions.

    antonija, after reading all of your post and noticing your profile lacking information, you sound like someone that has downsized to quickly and are currently flying a canopy smaller than recommended for your experience. It sounds like you are arguing with everyone to justify your canopy choice. I don't know if it's true or not but that's the impression I get.
