I guess my thinking is for here in Texas? Around most of the drop zones that I can think of, Houston's 2, San Marcus, and Dallas all have loads of area around them to land and get your main. After you cut away..... What were you taught to do??? I was taught to or ... it was implied that I should ... Follow my main. I have always thought that is what you are suposed to do. Follow your main down, land by it and get your stuff. I hear about cutaways all the time whereby people do not recover their main. What is up with that? I understand if it is in trees and swamps or something..... But it was real easy to land by my main and get the freebag and hop in the van. Instead of landing at the dz going to get my main, then coming back to dz.... Just a thought that has been buggin me........ Maybe its me... I land better off airport than I do on airport.... I recall my malfunction and at the time only my training came to mind. There was a line over and alot of line twists so I couldnt get a toggle down, only one... I was taught to pull with both hands - Cutaway and Pull your Reserve. Both hands. Pillow or Handle either way, I didnt care. I almost didnt get my other hand back up to pull the cutaway handle because of the spinning forces tuggin on my ass. I thought my fillings were going to be pulled from my teeth. Nobody said I was suposed to keep the handles, either. I do not recall if it was difficult or not to pull either one..... You know I go to some degree of extremes with these little guys to make sure their childhood isnt traumatic. They know about people, and some dogs.... they have manners, ie litterbox.... They are not suposed to climb up a persons leg.... or cry too much.... But I taught Sister to speak, and Levin taught TrailMix to chirp like a bird when spoken to..... Actually you are suposed to use live birds for the sporting dog training. I have never seen this aperatus before nor have I seen anything like it used for training dogs..... and I have seen many a trained duck dog and bird dogs and rabbit dogs. Instinct combined with retrieval training and gun training is all we ever needed. Skeet is alot of fun. (not my dog - the dummies like Clay) I mean the dummies made of Clay...... I own a copy of Cutaway and the movie poster, -white wooden frame. I am currently in search of the movie poster for DropZone and that other one, I forgot... And I think I may want the new one Triple X, it has a ton of skydiving in it. Although we lost a brother in that one, the stunt man. He was from Calif. Also Point Break, just because of the skydiving in it and also because I have jumped out of that exact plane before. ..... I also have a print of a painting from 1810 of a boy picking fleas off his dog........It is said its a masterpiece. ~Looks like a boy picking fleas off his Brittany Spaniel to me~ So stuff like that is worthy of a frame and a place on my wall. YIKES- I would have passed smooth out!!! I have done that twice with a knife. Once while rabbit hunting with my Dad and etc.... I was whittleing on Bamboo... not a good choice... My Puma sliped and I remember trying to hand off my gun while it was getting really dark..... Then my Dad was choppin off goose necks and I was immitating him and whack was my finger..... I made it from the patio to the dining room and found a nice spot on the carpet....... ploop - again it got really dark and somebody turned off the lights. Then again when my dogs get hurt I nearly go out again.... (I cut a toenail too short) But not when I am in my medical identity.... somehow I deal with all that without passing smooth out. Its not so much the idea to have a membership or not. I was getting around to renewing it. Thats ok. I just wanted to jump that day instead of buying a membership. Let me think.... 4 jumps or a membership.... 4 jumps or a membership......... I wanted the 4 jumps @ 12 bucks. Pay membership later. I wanted to jump both days at $12 a jump. I guess I wanted to wait till I could come back into town and cash a check and then go back out on Sun and handle it. I dont like to jump with stuff bugging me. I agree with all the insurance affairs that the USPA provides. It was just like a luxury to have a USPA membership at the time when my house is maybe going to be foreclosed on. I was at this dz cause I had jump tickets from forever ago and I could jump also for $12. - So the renewal was almost 4 jumps. At least I got a long nap. All three dogs jumped in the bed with me and we watched a Sean Connery film, so its all good. Want a Kitten? means exactly that. I have 5 baby Kittens that are adorable for anyone except -Derek. Hook n Swoop or whatever, GlockMan, PaintBallDude, or MostAwesomeJM, or call him crazy - - - but he aint getting a kitty. puppies and bunnies - puppies and bunnies? - I think that is what he says when I am saying something he doesnt want to hear. It should be puppies and kittens, but kittens are strangely missing from this ....... its a sign...... And- I have a Cat named Target, but not for the same reason Derek would name one Target. My Target has 3 real clear circles on each side that looks like a Target. He was rescued from a ditch in a big rain and I raised he and Monster from a bottle. Levins cat named Oscar had the kittens- Temp names are Goat - white male very cute, All white, almost an albino, except for tip of tail, Kinda looks like Goat. AggieDave - Univ of Texas Orange Tabby- male, LOL, was 1st to get into trouble Blue- Blue female or male, I forgot- (pick of the litter) Jessica - black soft hair female (extremely smart and fun) Phreezone - black soft hair male ( very smart and fun, more laid back than the female black one) Also they are advanced kittens.... I started feeding them real kitten food, mashed when they were just short of 4 weeks. Then just after 4 weeks they learned litter box affairs. Goat was the first to use the litterbox. I had to relieve the mother cat from the breast feeding because she was injured by the fingernails of the kittens around her breasts and she really only has 4.5 breasts that function properly.
