Please help us remember our friend Mike Goodman who passed away a week or two ago. (not skydiving) He was one of those most excellent people who were always helping other people. Constantly. I have never known a more gentle, personable, likeable guy in my life. He had a thick country accent which attracted me to him right away as I am from a very small town and occasionally my heavy country accent comes out as well. I immediately liked him. He was just good ole salt of the earth and wonderful. I can not say enough about this wonderful person. I was always incredibly glad to see him. And he had a great big talent for making a person feel comfortable. Once out at Spaceland the sewage system was messed up - he fixed it and left a bunch of chlorine tablets for Steve. Then he went skydiving and thought nothing about it. His mother will do a tandem (for the first time) to realease his ashes and his close friends will be there to wish him Forever Blue Skies. Please think about us today at about 6pm thru 8pm this evening. I hope to release flower petals at 500 feet, (from the aircraft) once the family and friends land. However, I have just found out how difficult it is to find 3 garbage bags full of flower petals.... He was kind, thoughtful and a gentle man. Footnote: Mike was shot x3 by a constable/sheriff and mauled by his dog, for riding his bike down the middle of the road. He had a 'shiny' pair of pliers in his back pocket that allegedly he reached for..... this event is under investigation from both the police point of view and the friends and family's point of view. Mike Goodman never hurt a fly in his entire life. Today, Mike Goodman should be smiling that smile of his and skydiving with us. We all loved him dearly and his is missed very much. There is a hole left in our family at Waller. Mike was one of a kind. I can say that at the funeral home Mike had a large number of people come in addition to large numbers who just could not. And I SO understand that, I was not sure that I could. Gary spoke extremely well of his friend and it was one of the most moving things I have ever heard. Gary sat next to me when he finished and we shared a large amount of personal grief. I would like to mention this because of the very good taste in which this was done. Mike had a black square piece of material over his hands. In the center was the Orbit Punks logo patch. This gesture by Thomas is overwhelming. I cant find the words to express the emotions about that extremely fine thing, it was just wonderful. Those were the good times. *******These statements and opinions are MY OWN. I found out its easier in a FF suit. I went out the other day in pants -the pants blew up to my knees and a t-shirt. I was squirrely. In shorts your movements seem to effect you more.You go faster your moves are quicker..... In my opinion that was all there was wrong with that jump... my not wearing my fast suit. I do have a slow suit as well, and that sit is different. But not hard. In my opinion its harder without FF suit. Clue- they are called Free-Fly suits - Therefore they are made with Freeflying in mind- both headdown and sitting. Its all about aero dynamics and drag. FF suit makers already thought of this. Super-Cessna Boogie- Ok, do you guys have un advertised boogies every weekend or what? POPS and Pups - which I could have wooped yalls asses in, btw.... You are confusing me Aggie Dave! --- Tell Pablo hello for me! BUT, the little cat named AggieDave is very smart, thriving, uses the litterbox and has been eating on his own since 4 weeks. He is now 5 weeks last Wed and will be ready to go to a -super great home only- Next Wed. cyberskydive calls him Sunkist. He is blond/orange. REALLY pretty kitten. Orange cat- You all A&M - I had to name him Aggie. Now Phreezone is a darling kitten but id detrimened to 'go his own way'. -blaze new trails -where no man has gone before... Example: at which time he decides to snub the system and not use the official poop box. He is extremely creative about alternate spots. WHAT? How did that get there? Jessica is a darling one also, confident and playful, goes about her business. Plays very well alone. The only one who can go around and around and around on the floor sideways with her claws. She has many imaginary enemies and slays every one. Goat/Mouse is still lagging behind just a hair... the supplemental baby food I started at 3.5 weeks after discovering less than optimal milk from mother, dramatically helped. He plays with either Phreezone or Aggie most of the time. Is a very happy little cat and was the first to use the cat box. Blue(sky) She stays with me. - Too cute and smart. Oh My GOD....... Thread of the Year. Yeah, the Pin the Tail on Scotty Picture.... I almost forgot about that. Hell, Scotty and Tami were leaving the party and I kept trying to make them stay as Cloudseeker and Ms M were getting the stuff ready. Finally, I told Tami part of the deal and we got Scotty to put on the blindfold. That was the best joke ever. Scotty was in his van hangin out the door bare assed. Besides that, Cloudseeker has a very good eye for the camera shots. And its a real good picture - now with a pin hole in it. That was the funniest thing ever. I left too soon - damn - that is crazy man! In the middle of the party - I thought they broke up that night. And Cloudseeker? What? You didnt have your camera? Anyway... Everytime I got to the dz, I would cruise thru and go to Scotty's and Tami's to check out the old Coot and see Tami. Everytime. Sometimes they would be jumping but I caught them later. My Famous Ass... you know like I always say.... my ass is famous? Well, this is how.... I was a Newbie skydiving and making new friends left and right. It was late summer and I had a super tan. No tan lines. I cant remember exactly what I was doing there so late..... (Peanuts SCR??) But, Scotty hugs me and traps my arms... and he pulls my shorts down. Hello? I cant move my arms. I am standing in the hangar - Lights ON, with my shorts pulled down. He looks over my shoulder and... -Heh- Purple thong.... Then WHACK- He slaps my ass really hard and makes a hand print on one cheek..... You could see all 5 fingers - clearly. Oh, hell NO, he couldnt leave that alone. Ten seconds later he is back and does it again.... He said he had to make it even and get a hand print on the other side. So now- he wants everyone to see his "hand prints". And everyone does.... Finally, I got so used to my ass being OUT there I asked someone to Blow on it - cause it was stinging. I think I drank something that night.... no telling what ... Ah, I think I had 2 wine coolers... That would have done it... A couple of times later on he would still do that. Once he did it in Manifest. How he got away with that one I'll never know. THAT is how my ass got famous... LOL One thing I will never forget about Tami & Scotty is that they always made everyone feel like they belonged where ever it was they happend to be. Scotty and I would have conversations about my life and life in general. And he never lied to me. He told me straight out. This is the way it is. If I had a problem - he would tell me what exactly the deal was. He is very kind and caring and would let me know that things would either work out or Fuck Em. And I would always be great no matter what. Id rather talk to Scotty than my own Dad anyday.

Viking - I am going to kick your ass. j/k The percentage of photgraphers that "make it" are very few. Find out even by accident what you are good at. What kind of fotos are your best. Sports is hard. I did that. Try just sitting around someplace where lots of people go with backgrounds. Shoot some stuff there. Your foto should tell a story. Maybe not the same one to everyone, but something has to be there. You need to find your 'eye'. Or what it is you shoot best. Just a foto. Then you can get into shutter speeds, filters, lens... and the numerous combinations thereof. Ansel Adams got famous with black and white, rocks and shadows and stuff. My friend took a great picture of 2 guys in Jamaica smoking a giant white 'cigar' with smoke going everywhere......... its interesting.... and its black and white with deep shadows... He got it just right with the smoke being clear and the Jamaican mans face also clear. Two different extremes white smoke and a Jamaican man... and then the subject matter was definately something you dont see on every street in the USA. And then the subject matters EYES.... very important with the eyes. His friend is looking at him and he is looking at the camera. You can tell alot about a person from their eyes.... This Dude... wasnt going anywhere, he was pretty relaxed, he likely did not have any pressing engagements that day, He could have been a tour guide - he had road map like eyes.... But then he didnt look too excited about anything, could have been he was off work that day.... maybe he is a musician... could have been some Bob Marley going on somewhere.... he could be a painter waiting around for the next inspriation.... maybe he was waiting for his women to show him ta monney, Mon... You never know what someone will see in a photograph. Take your best stuff crop it, print it and put it on your favorite medium and then have a show. Put them at the dz.... see what people say... The most interesting foto I have was taken by my friend when we both worked at a camera store here in Houston. It is of Grafitti on an old brick wall... its covered with this or that, (again black and white) But what is in foucs and shot from the lower left side, (he had to have sat down and took it) looking up... it says NOISY NEIGHBORS... In a previous lifetime I wanted to work for National Geographic. I once had quite the collection of wildlife photography. Now I have alot of skaters and surfers... And you can pretty much tell I am doing a contortion session on top of the ramp. I got creative - because at first the skaters on the ramps got 10 points for nailing photographers. Ice for the first 24 hours then heat and I would stay off of it as much as possible. Take Advil or Motrin as they are an anti-inflamatory. Wrap it in a figure 8 with an ace wrap to discourage any other hyper flex or hyper extension movements for 3-4 days. If you do wrap it - have the knee slightly bent, not straight. RICE is Rest, Ice, Compression, and Elevation. This to me is odd. It is not your normal complaint, that is. I will try to find some data that makes sence for this pain. It could be you did something to the patella by turning your tib/fib, but that usually tears the medial and lateral collateral ligaments first. And with that you would be in some pain. "RICE and anti-inflammatory drugs will, once again, ease pain and speed healing. Gentle massage and mild stretching exercises often make the knee feel better and mend quicker. It's nice to know exactly what's going on, but in all instances, your job is not to figure out exactly what's wrong with a painful knee. Your job is to figure out how to deal with the pain and whether or not the pain should be evaluated by a physician." The more a knee swells, and the more discolored it is, and the funnier it looks, the more it needs a doctor. ps- are you saying that the pain is on both sides yet below the patella? I have been to hundreds of concerts... I think the first concert I ever saw was the Eagles. I dont remember much and they looked real little from where I was. It was a big stadium. I do remember seeing a bunch of people doing outrageous things. Couple of concerts I do remember that were Interesting... Devo- the lead guy comes flying from the balcony on a wire that you cant see. Whoa... It was a really small theater. Ted Nuget went flying all around once with a bow and arrow and a loin cloth. That was interesting. Staring straight up at that dude from Van Halen while he danced around standing on my finger was not fun, interesting or attractive. Limp Bizkit - dont miss that one. With great seats that one was awesome. Especially with a bunch of skydivers calling each other on cell phones and waving during intermission. It would be very difficult to break a pair of Gatorz. They are made of aircraft material. I am very hard on my stuff. And mine are still awesome. Regarding my friend who jumps with Gatorz and contacs. I think he has Aviators which are more low profile than Stealth. Mine fit my head perfectly and have rubber on the inside by my ears so they do not wiggle around with my helmet. I get no air in my eyes. (or at least very little) I know Thomas McDowell jumps in Gatorz and his are low profile and he appears to have no trouble. Same with Raymond Adams, Jim Slayton, and other pros. Gatorz or other sunglasses are not meant to replace goggles. I just happen to like them. PS- The jumpsuit maker is adjusting the measurements so that I will have as much flex as possible. I am not sure how we will address the freefly situation as this is experimental. I do know that I will be going pretty darn fast. I am thinking I will look kinda like a sexy swat team member. Richard- Sorry wrong again, you know nothing first hand. I have a log book and it goes everywhere my gear bag goes. It is not up to date as I would like it to be. But it wouldnt take 10 minutes and a print out to fix that. Regarding membership vs. Temp membership-- so I could jump that day- It wasnt offered. Just the renewal. Also, I had another issue that had to be taken care of and its between Andre and me. And if Andre would have been around when I got back from the ATM he would have insisted that I stay and jump. Matter of fact, I was told later he said he was going to call me and say just that. (phone is our of order) I was jumping SDH long before you showed up. And I am not banned at any DZ - You are. I had my cutaway at SDH at jump 118, Yohaun picked me up in the van. I have spent a lot of time there and have many friends. Also, I helped legal counsel represent SDH in a court case, I sat right there at the defense table with the DZO and counsel. My windshield is still broken because the Otter tow bar was put in my car as evidence. I know more about the goings on at this and other dropzones than you or any regular jumper will ever know. That is because it is a business. And those are private matters. I am well respected at this dropzone and any other I have ever been to. The people you talk about, maintain that they dont even know your name. But you continue to talk as you do, what you dont know is that you are hurting the dropzone more than you are helping it. At this moment you have alienated yourself. Nobody wants to go to SDH and be confronted by you or your thoughts. Even though a ton of my friends are there, I certainly stayed away when you were threatening to beat up Zennie and Slappie. I simply request that you stay as far away from me as possible and dont quote me or mention my name. And I would appreciate you not talking to my friends as you do. Chicken- it was something like that. Except I was thinking along the lines of I wonder what the weather is like in San Marcus today.... or Dallas .... or anywhere else but ... The problem wasnt life threatening or anything. Just kinda funny in a way. Yesterday, just sat square right on top of another bad issue I had on Wednesday. Whereby afterwards I was too damn MAD to jump there. (someplace else) So I may have tried to act a certain way which was not in order with my particular mindset. It would have been a mess. I know one thing - after a cast comes off - it isnt flowers you smell...... Whew..... And while you are there with the cast saw you never know what you will find in those things either... a butter knife, a broken stick, scratches from a coat hanger... $5..... a quarter.... pens and pencils, ...etc You just hope they never got it wet.
