McDave- I am awesome upset that I did not get to even come out this last weekend. As you know, I am recovering from major surgery that they insisted I have at the Emergency Room a week ago last Saturday. However, I a tuff Texas woman and I expect that if you said you were jumpin this week sometime I might show up and accidently fall out of the plane with my rig on. Yeah... I am pretty sure of it.... How about Tues evening?.... ...right after my Dr appmt whereby I will tell him I am squared away.

I agree, ...Did I do it?, ...Hell yes..... I am like BMFin, I dont regret my jump. I didnt see much of anything. It was beatin the crap out of me. Mike Smith was flyin the Otter and I heard him say.... something, something, something.... cant go around it, return to dz... something, something..... Hop and Pop? I heard hop and pop... I looked back at the door and this dude I know and I cant remember his name ever, but he looks like the lead singer in some band from UK. Anyway, out he goes. I get in the door and Levin, Chris M. and some other folks kept yelling at me... I tried to hear them but .. ahhh... it didnt make any sense. Something like RAIN.. blah blah RAINING.... blah blah.... Once more I say WHAT??? and think forget it... I cant hear him. Then I am out the door and my feet are almost off the ledge and I hear Levin scream - Its Raining ...HARD... less than a split second later I thought.. Oh, yeah Now I know what he said.... The dude before he skirted the outside of the storm cloud. I did not due to the door conversation. I hit the cloud at about 300 feet out the door. I tried to track out of it but to no avail. I got the crap beat out of me... When I arched to pull, I had one hand over my face, I pulled then returned my other hand to save my face. The hard rain on my canopy was interesting and loud. Mich- Funny you should say Sky...lady will throw you around the sky... Rook did that to me once... I refered to it as "Rook slung me all over the place" dive. Rook was where ever he was, I was where ever I was and this really big dude sunk into obilivion on us. I believe Booger and I were suposed to be doing an Eagle sit thingamajiggy with Rook on film. I was trying to find out what happend to Booger and he was suddenly a very small speck on the down low when Rook grabbed me by my riser covers and flung me all over... I was sitting then I remember my hands and feet where straitght out front like a cartoon. Next thing you know, I am upside down with Rook flying me around from behind by my riser covers.... where ever he wanted me to go is where I went. ... I was clueless... Whatever- on the fall rate... Fast / Slow.... What matters is if you have a safe RANGE. As for formations, the rate is going to be whatever it is... If you cant stay - you cant play. AirAnn's Video Vault

I dont think you should try to break that habit of going to belly when things are not right. I say keep it until you have another position that feels right and is stable. You have 2 comfort zones now. One with your board and one RW stable position. Thats good. Later on you can incorporate your sit stable position into your comfort zones. Anyway you go in skydiving you need at least one place to return to when stuff gets goofy. From that you just add stuff on.... Sittin, Standing, Flippin, Transition, etc.... AirAnn's Video Vault

Just one thing I do not get... vSCR should be a Vertical SCR... Hybrid SCR should be 3D-SCR...??? So..... what will be the distinction between a full blown Vertical SCR...... and a 3D...... nothing? AirAnn's Video Vault

Unsucessful - 18 square feet - The bag for it was either a McDonalds bag or Burger King. He jumped it held for a second and twisted right up, he circled for a bit . He cut away and that was about it. He made it himself and he said he just ran out of material. Having said that, yesterday I saw a non successful 100 ft round attempt. The 'bag' for that is a big cardboard box. When it works - its great. Its real heavy and you have to zero G the plane (Casa) to get it out. Kinda tricky to say the least... The deployment sequence was in error, 4 people got bruised up. I know, Clay ... I do distinquish the differences here... They wanted to cut my stuff off and were talking about it and somehow this big country accent came out of me saying "You are gonna play hell cuttin off MY jumpsuit" and then in the film -I start unzippin and pulling shyt off left and right.... LOL It was my first camera jump and I still had the camera running... It ran for about 25 minutes part of the time laying on the ground beside me.... Then getting banged around by a nice person who took my gear to the car.... Then in the car its still running.... the last part is the worst... I tell everyone I am just fine and Hell, I can drive myself to the hospital -no worries. Then I tried to hop to my car but my good leg was shaking so badly from the whole event. (1st canopy collapse) It gave way and I fell right to the ground in the dirt in front of manifest. Scraped up my good knee and both hands. This as evidence that I was just perfect and needed no help. I was in shock, denial and had the all over shakes so bad my eyebrows were dancing. Heh, .... I still drove my happy ass to the hospital with the other leg. Later, after reviewing the film I could see clearly why everyone thought I was on drugs. Its funny but I have learned that there are 3 views to everything. Mine, Theirs and the Video. A person hardly ever perceives themselves correctly. I think that since I was able to fly with the boyz, I had the mentality going that I shouldnt show any weakness - so I could continue to try and keep up. Memorial jumps........ Rarely are perfect. My man, God love him, wouldnt come out of the bag.... had to do another one the next day. What a prankster. He just wanted to jump again with his mother on tandem. The dive went like this - going front to back -I was co-pilot, then CReW (4) Then Ash jumpers I cant remember 8 or so.. Thomas, Sean, Levin, Gary, Kyle, Eric Butts, Karen, and so on... The Plan: Memorial jumpers out - do their thing... and they land. Pilot and I do a 50 ft fly by I released my one garbage bag of rose petals over the runway and crowd. Then CReW lands 2 down planes. What happened: Formation did not come together, Mike stayed in the ash bag. The door slammed on my arm and I was stuck like that, with maybe 3 inches of space to get a garbage bag of petals thru. In addition, being that close to the ground it goes by too fast for you to figure out where you are. I knew as soon as the plane went vertical we had just went over the crowd and the drop was ok... but my arm stayed in the door until we landed. It healed in about 4 or 5 weeks. THEN, after the petal drop- One downplane skydiver broke her femur. I got to her after the plane landed and she was doing good for her injuries. EMT's were perfect and DaKine rags were not cut. Now somehow - My friend and her injuries was on tv, I am told.... Where did the TV people come from.....? Or did a person in the crowd release their film....??? Things that make you go hummmm... I lost 3 friends in 4 months this year. Yesterday, I was at my Dr's office after hours and I cruized in with my new copy of Skydiving and Parachutist... Dr Ott- Hey Ann -whats going on.. You look confused... I said - Nothing, I am just looking at one of the new skydiving magazines and realized that I "know" or know about every one in here.... Weird, it seems like the more you are around the more people you know. Dr Ott- What? you just figure that one out? I said, Yeah- I sure think so.... The more people you know the greater the chances are that some where, some time, some place - some friend or some one you know is going to get hurt. You may know a guy who broke a finger or something. Lets hope the hurts are small. Lets take 4 people I nearly reguarly jump with, broken face, broken ankle, broken ribs and me broken foot and leg. 4 out of 4. But I shouldnt count - so thats 3 of 4. You cant get mentally prepared for an bad accident. And you never believe it at first. I think I just dealt with what I had each time. I also think that shock is momentarily a blessing. IMO, Shock is a way that lets your mind ease into the idea a bit before the full force of the blow hits you. After that you get all kinds of emotions. Last time I got news a friend had passed away - I tried on all of the emotions. With time the grief part isnt so bad now and some days its really big smiles as I remember each of my 3 friends who are gone.
