Level 5... You may still be in sensory over load. Everything is new, what should not be new are your emergency proceedures and the dive plan. Do you trust your JumpMaster? You are not out there by yourself you know. You have some help. Just keep on with the dive plan. Go to the door and keep your eye on the JM. Talk to him, tell him the deal. Then chill out about it or try. I will be willing to bet he already knows. I was kind of insistent that I stay with the same JM. Later on I trusted both of them. I never eat at the dz. I barely drink. If you eat eat just a little and like a couple of hours before you go out. Hang out with the people at the dropzone. Learn to trust your brothers and sisters on the aircraft. There is NO WAY I could get on and off an aircraft with my rig messed up. Everyone looks at your rig, whether you know it or not. Especially if you are a student. This is an incredible thing, its good. All your gear will be fine, -But know it your self. Stay calm cool and collected. Dont leave the ground if you arent ready to go. PS- I have turned around at the door before. Many times. And those were as a licensed skydiver. -If my head aint right - no flight. Its just as important to know that you can skydive as it is to recognize that you may not want to you might want to figure that out before you get on the plane. Also you might want to let of the dive for a little on the way to alt, to let yourself calm down. It takes a minute or two, so give it time. May not be a great idea, take your time. ~AirAnn~

I didnt have much problems with skydiving and heights as my instructor pointed out are you afriad of heights while in an airliner? Things just look small right? Well that is how skydiving is. But looking off a tall building straight down gives me a small amount of vertigo or just the creeps. If I combine the addition of the view straight down with the horizon its not so bad. It was quite worse before I got the entire picture of it all in perspective by skydiving. I started skydiving becase I was testing myself maybe on that issue as well as many others. I believed I could not do it. Changed my life. ~AirAnn~

Would you object to paying a yearly $25 fee for using the forums?
airann replied to skymama's topic in The Bonfire
I voted No. And I will tell you why. I have met a ton of broke ass skydivers in my skydiving life. And I would want to still hear their views. I personally dont know how I would factor that $25 in my creative financing at the moment. (had to stop jumping, so...) About the refreshed forums in general these days. When you split up the topics too much, it might be a bad thing. The womens thread albeit a great idea is usually slow. And that is ok. Its one of the things I did not like on another site that went down. I was a Skybytch in the womens lounge and zero went on in there unless myself or Paula, or Kelli went off on some crazy topic. Just to rip it up a little. Then of course there is Wreck Dot and I have nearly been killed there about 100 times. If it were not for the big dogs over there I would have been killed by FastFlail or thats what I call him. Thanks Rev, Peanut, Treetop, Espen and like Lord of Crabs and the Sheep dude. If you go there you better be tough or dont ask a dumbass question or have a dumbass answer and jeeze dont insult somebody you dont know. FLAMES and Flamed Beyond Recognition. Having said that it happens here on occasion. Me personally, a while back like 3 or 4 times and it passed right on by, but I was way disturbed by it. Personal attacks went on back then, I felt like they did for sure. I bailed from here for a while after that. ~AirAnn~ -
one more thing..... What are you going to do with your gear? just kidding ~AirAnn~

Yeah, on the ratio... I posted that a while back some place, I dont rmember where. You should have seen it 3 years ago. There are a ton now. There are reasons for AirAnn, you know, but that is old news. ~AirAnn~

Dove, I am in the medical field. I started out taking urine to ph and etc. test it, take blood pressure, and vital signs. Then they snagged me up to the front office and I started doing Insurance claims. Then I was a Lazer tech in a plastic surgeons office. Cincinnati, in fact the very office where the first ruby lazer was made. It sat right to my right as an antique sorta. Then co2 Lazer. What did I do- I vacumed up the smoke. Better than the other way, smokin flesh, Ozium. But we did both. Then later I wound up where I am now as Business Manager, Office Manager, Administrator, whatever they want to call me. Salary is around 40 to 50k depending on the office, specialty, and part of the country. Surgeons kinda are primadonnas alot of times. Kickin in doors at the OR & throwin stuff. But check this out.... If you had just been makin rounds and savin lives and elbows up to there in bodies, Blue Coding people. Then you come back to the office & some clerk is upset about she cant find any tape for her tape despinsor? You would not be too happy either. So I aave doctors from that crap and I also make them a ton of money, almost all the time. Right now the best thing is Nursing. You could go for a PA, they make some $, and you assist Drs all day long. Also, people come and go there like in Cardiology, Neuro, Pulmonology, Onocology.... What I wont do is Pediatric and Gereatic. The very young, and the very old. Its not bad to work behind the sceens. But looking at someone who was just told they have lung cancer and now you ask them for a $10 CoPay? That was very hard for me, so in the back I am. ~AirAnn~

Hell yes......... My headdown has never been the same as before I mounted my TRV 11 to the top. There are people who can fly with them (headdown and top mount) and those who cant. And I guess those who kinda can. Its like having a shark fin on top. It change the way you fly HD. You will adapt however. But its also hell on opening sometimes if you are looking up. Its also a real hazard, so remember that. Some people are so gifted and natural they can fly with any thing any where. See pic. I will post this again: When you first get your camera mounted or whatever. If it has 2 chin straps take off or tuck under the liner the other one. You dont need 2. Especially those who add on a chin cup. Next, at home sometime or wherever, put on helmet as you would to jump. Have it ready for your jump. Have a friend pull on it. Like your lines are caught in it. See how you would get it off. With tension on it it takes a sec or 2 and its more difficult. This is an emergency procedure. And you have to know what it feels like and what your instant reaction should be. I had someone do this at my house and discovered complete amazement as its harder than you think. ~AirAnn~

I saw Levin in the Mess Exit, j/k. Nice shot Josh. On the back inside cover is Chris Salin. Incredible and indescribable human being. Just an awesome guy. I have attached 4 pics. I couldnt pic just one of the many that I have. One is myself on my 100th with Chris backing me up and right with me loading. I was nervous it was a group freefly campfire of 12 or 13, I would have to go back and count now. But he sat beside me to alt. and he had a way that just made you feel calm without hardly saying a word. Right behind Chris just off camer is Josh, who is mentioned above. These pictures were taken from the tape that the load organizer took, Eric Boyd. The one is four in the door. Myself, Walt, Stevie Boyd of Spaceland Esmodie, and Chris. There is one of Chris blocking the wind for me as I climb out. You see the top of my old helmet 'Flygirls'. Then one of the famous disco helmet of his as he loaded. I know by the time I asked him about it (when I met him) he had likely told the story a billion times, but he explained it again to me in detail all the way to altitude. Always the love.... ~AirAnn~

Covered that one already.... It would have to be a kitten and you would have to put it in a open and closeable 2 liter clear bottle with liquid removed. And still it would just be wrong..... I may know of a guy who may have made a chute for an alleged cat who may have alledgedly jumped 2 or 3 times. On the last jump the alleged cat may have lacerated the alleged person from shoulder to wrist upon alleged exit. In skydiving you hear just about everything and also - there is NO video so it DIDNT happen. And besides this is how serial killers start out - hurting little animals. Hey- Look it up!! ~AirAnn~

Couple of things here- Brutis has a contract for his jumps, rental car, overnight stay in hotel and (dont quote me on this but $1500 a jump). I once saw the actual contract. Also, he is completely covered in a T-shirt. His owner falls butt down to avoid too much air on the dog. Also the guy did several jumps with Brutis in one day to raise money for some local animal shelter. He has been "approved" to skydive by an animal agency. I cant remember one. In my opinion this is a commercial thing. Maybe the owner/dog started out doing whatever, but now they open race tracks and show up for events. PUD was the original and so was Robin. In my opinion they skydived for the love of the sport. Nothing else. I have video that Dead Mike took and its wonderful to see them both jumping on a trampoline. You can plainly see that PUD is devoted to Robin. I have been talking about taking a dog out ever since I started jumping. It has to be the right dog in combination with trust and a lot of training. I have experimented with several breeds and it takes a lot of work and patience -and- a rigger who will make a rig. I asked 3 and got HELL NO, then I told them it was not for the Great Dane. But still, you need a vet to give the ok first before any riggers around here would work with me on his rig. Before I broke stuff in my leg, Flea Flyer was on level #3. 1)Intro to DZ (& CReW dogs!!!), 2)Intro to Plane, 3)Intro to Prop Blast and door. I wasnt sure of Flea then but he was 3-4 months old (see picture). The key I believe is an early start. He would have worked out I think with alot of training. I even thought out a plan for his cutaway if I was going in. Basically it was a drogue. But it was complicated. My Great Dane was raised in the prop blast, however the breed was wrong. But he got petted while we all waited on our loads. And children hung from his tail and everything else. A DZ is a good place to socialize a dog. But that doesnt make him a skydiver. A skydiving dog doesnt come around too often, neither does a guy like Robin Wilcox. I never had the pleasure of meeting him. I certainly always wanted to see his rig, (PUD's) I am still working on a new guy that arrived on Sun evening and its iffy but the Dachshund / Chihuahua might work out. Certainly the Shih Tzu is too heavy and Flea missed his chance as both are too old. 10 months = Olav ZipsTer and Flea is 1 year. This taken from Wreck Dot. You can search there and read more on the Original Real Skydiving Dog and its one of a kind owner, Robin Wilcox of Dallas. More on Robin and Pud- One in a million. I wish I could have met this man. Well, as we can see both animals were approved to skydive by various organizations. ~AirAnn~

Pablo- Cut that shyt OUT man! You are making me feel worse. I totally miss you now that you are at the other DZ. I dont get hugs, I dont see your big smile face The whole thing is just trauma, trauma, drama, trauma. See you SOON, Babe. By the way, since its been raining so long here in Tx, almost everyone is feeling altitude deprived. ~AirAnn~

Forgot, Skeet eliminated a Possum today. He bolted out the door and jumped at the fence and caught him in his mouth and shook him like 4 times and that was it. Micro dogs hero. ~AirAnn~ -

New and exciting stuff.... 1) Brownie Mix with Walnuts (kitten) is a party favor from Oscar. (Levin's cat) Trail Mix moved back in last week. (Levin's other cat that squeaks) That one is fixed. 2) and now Ginger who is a Dachshund-Chihuahua Mix and its damn extra small. Smaller than Flea Flyer who is a Toy Rat Terrier. She belonged to his brother. And now they cant have pets ... so... Little bitty got cold and I made a purple sweater out of a sock. Skeeter (Great Dane), and Olav ZipsTer (Shih Tzu) are amused, yet remain not too interested. Best part is everyone still fits in the King Size bed. 2nd beat part is this one will fit in the pocket of my FreeFly suit. ~AirAnn~ -
Oh Hell No....x2 ~AirAnn~
