as i read it it says " whith the last year there has been over 200 legal jumps in Germany that VDO has oganiced" Ok, i agree, they organized 200 legal base jumps, but i don't think there where many more legal base jumps without hte VDO. 49, but how many legal? 200 is not much, but it's a start. I know there are a lot more illegal in gemany, for example the recent one in Munich with the object strike. If it does not cost anything you are the product.

I am not a base jumper, but i can read german. Here ist their homepage: http://www.base-jump.de/ A few facts from the homepage. Since 1998 it is allowed to jump from fixed objects if you complie with certain laws. 200 legal Base jumps last year. Click on "wir über uns" to see a list of sites that have been jumped legally If it does not cost anything you are the product.

Thats basically the principle of my cutaway and that of the tonfly helmet, except that on mine the tip of the pin is conic to make it slip off easier. Mine is also spring loaded, to make the pin slip off even if i lose the cutaway handle while pulling or something. If it does not cost anything you are the product.

Our plane is way faster than that. See attached picture It has to be, its a twin turbine compared to a single engine single cylinder piston aircraft. If it does not cost anything you are the product.

How long does the iPod battery last and how long does Apple say they last? I think mine lasts about 8 hours on one set of batteries, but i could get better ones for my Archos. If it does not cost anything you are the product.

looks nice. Not cheap lets see what the price in € will be over here, maybe something for my little sister, i need more space. I am even thinking of replacing my 20GB drive with a 40GB in my Archos. If it does not cost anything you are the product.

I also made my own circuit with a transistor and Dytter batteries. PM me if you are interested, i haven't put the instrutions on my homepage jet. If it does not cost anything you are the product.

I have dropped my Archos more than once, don't recomend doing that though. Battery lasts for about 8 hours and will last longer with better NiMh Batteries and yes, it is heavy, weighs 340g. I still don't want any other mp3 player, especially with the Rockbox firmware installed, except maybe if you offter me the iPod for the same price. If it does not cost anything you are the product.

A friend of mine has one. It was about 3 years old when the top coat of the paint peeled off on some parts. It was not due to rust and it was only the first layer. That was some time ago, they might have gotten better. If it does not cost anything you are the product.

Why is almost everybody using SLR cameras?
FrancoR replied to FrancoR's topic in Photography and Video
Something i have noticed is that all freefall photograpers use SLR cameras. Why is that so? Onyl because of the remote? Any regular camera should be able to produce good pictures during a skydive, there is usually enough light for infocus, clear pictures. One the other sides SLR cameras have big lenses that create the possibility for line snags. A friend of mine bought a Ricoh Caplio G4 wide. It seems like its suitable for skydiving. The lens is a 28mm (equivalent to 35mm) the delay for the picture is 0.14 sec and compared to other digital cameras it has a good lens. 3 megapixels should also be enough for most pictures. There has got to be a solution to the remote button, even if it is a small electric actuator that will push the button. Franco PS: No, i am certainly not going to go for still pictures with my experience. If it does not cost anything you are the product. -
Interesting post. I have a "Hochspüler" myself and i have been using "Hochpülers" for a long time since i live in germany. Most of the problems you described are true, but not as severe as you described them, at least for me. I will go for a "Tiefspüler" next time i buy a bowl. The picture shows another variant of a toilet. DON'T LOOK AT THE PICTURE IF YOU CAN'T HANDLE IT. If it does not cost anything you are the product.

more than one way to do that, check this recent thread. VHS to still If it does not cost anything you are the product.

Thanks for all the votes and comments. Looks like nobody feels there is a need for a lifetime limitation. Thats also my thought. If it does not cost anything you are the product.

This question just came up on Stammtisch. We are discussing if it makes sense to have a manufacturer limit the lifetime of a container. The german parachute association used to have a limitation of 15 years that is now gone. Now nearly all manufacturers form germany and south africa limit the lifetime of their containers again to 15 years (in germany?). A limitation of lifetime can now be put up by a manufacturer, thats what new law says. So who actually jumps an old Container? Is there a limitation to the lifetme of a container other than not passing an inspection anymore? Same goes for the reserve, but i am not asking that now to keep the poll defnite. If you have bittorrent, there is a torrent file on this page: http://202.157.176.93/torrentfiles.tk/sonstiges.html with 20 000 Ringtones. Bittorrent is a file sharing programm that works different than the others. You install the bittorrent client, download the torrent file from a webpage and when you click on the torrent file the download starts. The torrent file is only a few kb in size, its just contains information about the download. If it does not cost anything you are the product.

I have a metric FT-50 that goes up to 4000m (=13000ft). I did a 6200m jump this year most alitmeters on the plane only showed about 5000m mine showed a lot more, i guess mine works best in high altitudes. I really like my FT-50 because it is very easy to read. If it does not cost anything you are the product.
