  1. Does not say anything about that on their homepage http://www.boogie-pimps.de/ Its in german, but you should still feel free to flood their guestbook (Gästebuch) with your comments. If it does not cost anything you are the product.
  2. On german ebay, somebody frequently sells helmets with your requirements. I think that would be the third possibility. ebay The auction says he ships everywhere. If it does not cost anything you are the product.
  3. More than one solution to that. A: Take a picture of your TV with your digital camera B: Plug the VCR into the TV-Card you have in your PC. Capture the file and get the still picture from that file. If you have a TV-Card, reply me, than i will go through the whole process, it's not really simple but it's the only way i know without buying expensive software. C: A Videoprinter could print a picture if you have one. Years ago Video stores used to do that. If it does not cost anything you are the product.
  4. Well i am not Lou, but i know an alternative way of adjusting paper reinforcers. Take a laserpointer and tape it to your helmet, adjust it so the light of the laserpointer is in the center of the picture. Put your helmet on and adjust the paper reinforcer. I don't use a paper reinforcer because i found it blocks my vision too much when i am under canopy. I now use transparent red tape in the shape of a rectangel so i know quite good whats in the picture. If it does not cost anything you are the product.
  5. If you are talking about the display card i would consider a card that can handle two monitors. That way you will have a very large desktop and plenty of room for premiere. If you only edit small projects its probably not worth the money or effort to get this feature. I was told that display cards do not effect the rendering speed in premiere and other applications. 6. I haven't worked with Media Studio Pro. But generally if you want a smaller file size you can do the following: reduce bit rate reduce resolutioin reduce frame rate. all of them reduce the quality. My way of compression for the internet is compressing with DivX and VirtualDub. If it does not cost anything you are the product.
  7. Blanik, a glider Maybe you should have asked for typical Jumpships. Franco If it does not cost anything you are the product.
  8. That is exactly what i am saying destraction is a factor no matter how many jumps you have. What i noticed is that i am mostly distracted when i don't take my time for jump preparations or talk to people while checking my gear. This year, prior to a jump a jumper that we met at the bonfire the night before asked if he could jump with us as he stood in front of us and misrouted his chest strap. He wasn't jumping video. All this distraction stuff is why i jump a simple camera setup and don't fly in slots that require me to fly any different than i would normally. If it does not cost anything you are the product.
  9. I made a similar search you made a while ago and posted the results. Only difference is, i did not limit to 500 jumps. I came up with 30 search results instead of 9. Here is my post Unfortunately nobody replied. Going through your serarch i noticed the following: 3. Prop strike 5. Very Experienced although no jump number available 6. Not video related 7. Entagelment. Really experience ralated? 8. Medical? Jumper went limb in freefall, really camera related? 9. Lots of other contributing factors. Of course the number of search results is not accurate for when Video was really an issue and how much it contributed to the desaster. I realize that distraction is an issue and it becomes more of an issue if you want to shot better video or want to get "that shot".But people tend to forget to give all the other important safety advice. This can be seen on the recent thread " Flat Top Mod.". I think a certain experience is required for "flight recording" and around 200 jumps is a good number. In order to film an RW team or a Tandem it certainly takes a lot more. If it does not cost anything you are the product.
  10. I think in the UK you are required to have at least 200 jumps. Its not so much a technical issue as to likelyness of malfunction but more about distraction because you are not concentrating on the jump, but take more of your brain for the video. I started jumping camera with about 170 jumps, but i do not aim on shooting the best video, i consider it more of a flight recorder and of course i don't do tandems. I keep distraction down to a minimum, i set the camera on record long before the actual jump, to make sure i have enough time to do my final gear check and prepare for the jump. In the jump i fly like any other jumper. The videos from those jumps are a lot better that i would have expected. Only in the past jumps i started to concentrate a bit more on what i am filming. Experience is important, but one should never forget dangers like snag points on the camera helmet. My Helmet doesn't have any, more experienced Camera flyers usually have lots of stuff on their helmets that can catch a line. If it does not cost anything you are the product.
  11. Can you give me an example for a case where somebody with insufficient experience had to learn the hard way? Was insufficient experience really the primary reason for that incident? If it does not cost anything you are the product.
  12. Just some things a "flight recorder" jumper like me noticed. I can't see a cutaway, do you have one? Can the gap between the cameras be a potential snag point? If it does not cost anything you are the product.
  13. No, i use Mozilla, wich has a few problems of his own. If it does not cost anything you are the product.
  14. I have a spare battery for my PC5, but it is not an original Sony, its from Vivanco. The Problem with this Battery is that it doesn't work at all when its cold. I just get an error Message "infoLITHIUM Battery only" and the camera shuts off. So be carefull when when using a non Sony Battery for Skydiving. I works perfects in normal and warm weather and for the price of 35€ on ebay, i can't complain since i did not buy it for jumping. Would not fit under my camera cover anyway. 15. This year in germany on the safety workshop of the German Parachute Association. Oxygen on jumps performed from FL150 and FL100 was also a topic. In germany there where attempts to make oxygen mandatory even from FL100! A study was made to examine the effect of the high altitude especially for jumpers. It lasted for 2.5 years. Jumpers had to perform math calculations and assignement tasks before and right after the jump. The result was that they where 31% better in solving the math and tasks after the jump, compared to before. All without oxygen. In additon to that they also measured puls, bloodpressure and oxygen saturation, but i don't know the conclusion from that. That doesn't really answer you question, but i think it is probably still interesting for you. If it does not cost anything you are the product.

  18. How can it do that? PAL DV Video is 25 frames per second NTSC is 29,something frames/s . No way of changing that. IMHO it makes the shutter faster, that way it can catch the fast motion of the prop rather than having it blurr. I think Hoym is right, faster shutter means less light, so the aperture needs to be opened further, that reduces depth of focus. What i am not sure is if this knowledge from Photograpy can be adapted to digital Video like i did. If it does not cost anything you are the product.
  19. Archos Jukebox Studio 20. I like it because: Cheap HD mp3 player. Do it yourself HD upgrade possible. Exchangeable batteries (AA) Excelent freeware firmware available. Works as external Harddrive I don't have to throw it in the trashcan as soon as the rechargeble Batteries have exedet their lifetime. Sturdy, i think i could drop it. Downsides Heavy Ugly. Only USB1.1 Tip: Get the Archos Recorder, bigger display, USB2.0. If it does not cost anything you are the product.
  20. Dificult Question in my case. My home Dropzone is cheap, but has a crapy C206. When i jump on a bigger DZ in germany i pay 25€ for 4000m This year at the slowak air boogie we payed 13.80€ for 4000m that was cheaper than a regular dropzone in germany even including travel and everything else. Radiation danger.

In germany a few soldiers of the Bundeswehr, are demanding compensation because they say they got sick working on radar equipment. It is said that it was older equipment though. The defense minister promised to pay them compensation. The whole thing was in the media in 2001. If it does not cost anything you are the product.
  22. 3 TDK MiniDV Tapes for 9,99 Euro at Froeschl here in Germany. Can anybody beat that?
  23. Why don't you ask anyone of the 120 german skydivers that wanted to set a new record for the largest formation skydive in Dubai what they think of Bush's security needs? They had to cancel the whole event because his security staff decided it was not save to have skydiving planes flying around during the Worldbank sumit he was attending. damn empty blue skies over dubai Franco If it does not cost anything you are the product.
  24. Number 3: Tonfly http://www.tonfly.sk/it-helmet.php Good Helmets, cheap Helmets with optional Cutaway. I can't read anything on their website, i think its italien, even though .sk in slovakia. The owner should speak english though. Number 4: Skyhelmets http://www.skyhelmets.de/Technik%20Seite.htm Haven't seen any of their Helmets, heard of them the first time this year, they are from germany.
