  1. I think this is what you want to do.... http://www.good-tutorials.com/track/5523 If not ...search around the site I am sure you will find a good explanation already written
  2. Did you mean a Non Linear Editing suite? Well to buck the trend of all them Apple users..... Dell Dimension 8250 PC 200GB Hard drive and 1024MB RAM Pentium 4 3GHz Adobe Premiere Pro 1.5 Adobe After Effects 6.5 Ulead DVD Workshop 2 Runs like a dream.....nice and fast , never crashes during editing. Only thing I would like to improve possibly is more RAM and maybe a faster motherboard ....to speed up rendering That said with all that...I still have and use Windows MovieMaker2 ......for a free software download its an absolute beauty and still can produce some great looking transitions/effects....check the link below...this was all done on Movie Maker2...it has limitations that something like PremierPro does not...but then again it dont take ages to learn. http://www.skydivingmovies.com/ver2/pafiledb.php?action=file&id=1574 (Direct link to download not provided out of respect for the rules of skydivingmovies.com)
  3. Thats kinda an unfair statement......GB policy on this no different in its enforcement finality from US policy.....can you be just as confident that the US Gov. did not have any 'backdoor' talks to secure the US hostage/victims release?..... I dont think you can be......but I am sure most Americans 'accept' its the policy so thats the way they play it........its no different for the Brits or any other country that enforce that policy In fact I believe iin Mr Bigleys unfortunate case it was the Irish Government only who attempted to make 'first contact' with the Terror cell. If a country is going to enter into talks to free these hostages...I'm pretty sure its going to be reasonably apparant in the outcome of the situation.......eg The 'Italian Job' with the two young women
  4. Crosswind...... BASE , Freeflying , Spaceball jumps , Swooping , Birdman, RW
  5. I think the phrase best used here is 'belt and braces' Of course no one with a licence should rely on others to tell them whether they are geared up correctly and safely.... But people do continually make these mistakes with potentially fatal results.....juss' human nature whether you are a low timer who forgot through lack of experience or an old timer who forgot through complacency....either way in my opinion the consequences of not doing it right dictate that gear checks should really be done on everyone on every flight....only takes a few seconds
  6. Never mind.......its a nice picture of a cat
  7. Thats the drill with an RSL right?? Never rely on it.....go for your reserve yourself
  8. Small planes are not the only reason to get pin checks......on those loads where you are all crammed in ....thats a good excuse to nudge or catch something...and a good reason to just let someone 'have a look' before you get out. Brings up another pet peeve of mine....crowded plane or not...people sat behind you who CONSTANTLY fidget , fiddle, and keep bumping your back or sides with there knees/arm/helmet...that make you need to have another pin check before exit. If its cause you are uncomfortable....be polite...tell the people around you so that you can readjust your position Other than that...I wish they would just limit their movements so that they are not bashing up against other peoples gear... I had to get a liitle angry at some 'italian chick' recently at Perris, whose legs were up on the bench and kicking my rig continiously.....apparantly she just gets 'fidgity feet' when shes nervous..... well I get nervous when she gets fidgety feet kicking my rig !!
  9. www.royal-lens.com You can get the Stealth 0.3 and Diamond 0.5 lens from the website above with a 25mm thread (For a PC109).......The website says they are only available n 30 and 37mm....but Max, who runs it, has told me they are available in 25mm....just drop him an email with your order. Delivery is in 3-5 days They are not super cheap but if the recommendations are anything to go by...they are excellent value for money. One piece lens as well ( I believe) so less susceptible to condensation getting inside the lens......and they are soooo low profile. Just waiting for mine now ( for a PC109) ooops edited to add: just read your 'last' posts date...I guess you have it sorted now
  10. Oh yeah I got it real bad........I just cant get myself motivated to do any work...damn
  11. Maybe trying to completely empty your IE cache AND delete all your Dropzone.com Cookies......I dunno, maybe that might get you back to where you were with saving JPEGS
  12. Just a little thanks to all in this forum and gear and rigging who have helped 'advise' me over the last couple ' months over my first cam helmet setup... Very expensive Sunday yesterday... Ordered a 2K Composites FF2 (Carbon Fibre) with cameye and cutaway assembly.. Sony DCR PC109... Royal Diamond 0.3 lens.... I am happy about this setup ( got to test this exact setup a feww weeks back)....but thats thanks to research which in turn was thanks to knowing what to be looking for by the kind advice offered here and at my home DZ Now the difficult bit starts right.....learning how to fly it Thanks again....special mentions to MrM2K21kk1KIkk1kkk2kkk ( something like that...) Gus... and Tom Lundergan...
  13. I bought a new main from Chute Shops in February....had a few queries once I got it.....sent at least 3 emails to them...each received a reply in less than a day...with the answers to my questions Its not always black and white ...good or bad Experiences vary....... Contacted 'Marie' at Chute Shops...if thats any help to you.
  14. There you have it.......its a dud company
  15. what about when the product IS the Deposit Hey anybody got any views on how the Diamond lenses compare to the Sonya nd Kenko equivalents..?? and what lenses are 'sealed'..??
  16. Thats a cheap price.....Im lucky to find one in pounds sterling for the same value... I would be very very careful about ordering....for something thats so outta sight cheap......somethings gotta be amiss or everyone would be selling it so. Just a point.....you are stateside right?....just be sure its a NTSC camera you are getting and not a PAL one......that may account for why its cheap.... Oh .....and if it does turn out to be a good company but a PAL version....let me know.....I'm from Europe and will snap it up at that price....
  17. Any editing soft ware that lets you 'play' more than two video tracks at a time and also lets you resize each video track 'window'.. In a nutchell just about all programs over 50 bucks or so would let you do this......and certainly the higher end ones. Look towards Ulead , Pinnacle for the best lower end software packages and Adobe (Premiere Pro) and Sony (Vegas) for some top end stuff.... In fact I believe Adobe has released a great version of Premiere Pro (scaled down version in features and cost) called Premier Pro Elements, thats meant to be a great value package.... Yeah...its real easy to do
  18. A ha ....I see something in that photo I have not seen before. So the cutaway assembly is 'fitted' by attaching it to the helmet with a small nut and the ratchet on the left side is what you use to crank down for tightness????? I had previously thought that the cutaway system was held in place by the velcro on the right side of the helmet And from what I can see....if you dont like the cutaway handle....you could always mod your own and reduce the size....right?
  19. Hi all... Am looking to buy one of these great helmets , but am not too convinced about the 3 ring cutaway system option. Does anyone have some pictures/experince with this system they would like to share? Or has anyone made their own cutaway system for this helmet that they would like to show me the design? ( Flamers note....already done exhaustive seraches on archive....and have not found loads on this subject..)
  20. Perhaps do some 'high' hop and pops and play around.......that will give you plenty o' time to mess around without having to worry about setting up your landing as soon as you open.....
  21. Be careful....a statement like that from somebody qualified should really be taken as ...its not really the right equipment for the job !! Bear in mind whilst learning you are likely to do some pretty radical manouvres as you fall onto and off stability.....that in hand with a rig that 'might' be freefly friendly is not a good combination... I very recently had a prem.deployment on a freefly 'safe' rig whilst not doing anything radical...it can and does happen. That all aside I recently did some tunnel time ...I can comfortably fly in a sit and in a stand in the sky but as part of the process you have to learn to fly on your back first (in the tunnel)...I was frankly shocked at just how bad I was on my back and im my opinion should definately be the first position to learn to fly well.....you will thank yourself down the line for learning this position first for sure..... Edited to add: why dont you do some tunnel time as well.......in that way you can get the basics of freeflying down in a safe enviroment until you get your mirage and then take it to the sky..... Or even better speak to Tom Lundergan at Quincy ( school of Human flight).....I was lucky enough to do some jumps with him at Perris and he is a great flyer and super nice guy to be around.....I'm sure he will inspire you and get you on 'the' path safely
  22. Try downloading it rather than streaming it.... (Right click on link...save target as...)
  23. Did you learn to sit in the Perris Tunnel? If so....I hope they first showed you how to fly on your back and transition.....I think thats how they structure the progression....back flying.....sit flying and then anything else. If not...just do some more tunnel time on transitioning....they are great at Perris in that tunnel
