238.000 liters at room temp and pressure. Remember that you'll be humming around in a vehicle with a pressurized tank. I did some VERY back of the envelope calcs, and probably got them wrong, but came up with something like a 500 gal tank of hydrogen being equal to that 20 gal gas tank they were talking about. Consider that compressed gasses are being used at even higher pressures than that nowadays, for example the air packs we're using in the fire service (the new ones at least) are 4500psi units. All of the above meandering amounts to poo-poo however, because everyone here (including me) seems to be in agreement that the amount of energy and polution necessary to produce hydrogen gas is, at the moment, wildly disproportionate to the environmental savings of burning it cleanly... Dammit, I'm bitter... the season will get scrubbed unless there is some sort of Deus ex Machina between now and tomorrow. On the other hand, I'm so unhappy with the owners and players for being such asshats during the whole affair that I'm not too sure I'd be able to watch much of the season if it did come off... Well, one way I look at it is that with the NHL out of the picture the "big league" just stepped down one notch to the AHL/IHL, which means my little beer league games are now one step closer to the top! The gf left this morning for her annual long weekend in sunny Florida with her best friend from college. You know, the usual kind of "girls only" weekend that we guys all think about: teaching each other how to kiss, pillow fights in their underwear, finding out that they both have the same "happy parts", stuff like that. So while she's gone, I get to eat whatever I want, go out during the week, leave the toilet seat up, hang out with buds (if I had any)... basically I get to revert to the good times before I moved in with her. Waazzup? Hey, tell you what: you can't go out to Orange and throw a brick without hitting half a dozen riggers. I am one myself, but am so busy with other issues in my life that I don't even have time to pack my OWN rigs. Only consolation is that, also due to other issues in my life, that I don't have the money to fun jump and need to spend my DZ days doing tandems so not having packed sport gear eliminates the temptation to run off and play instead of do tandems! Go to the DZ website (www.skydiveorange.com) and look for the link on the right side of the page, about halfway down, for rigging. It'll list all the riggers at the DZ. Hope dis helps.... I don't get fun jumps signed off anymore, but always try to get a sig for any tandems I do. God forbid I should ever get sued as a tandem I, but if I do I would hope that the sigs would would give some credibility to my claims that I'm keeping my tandem skills current.
