Man, what a way to break up the week...right near the end. I've seen a few bands work their asses off at concerts and look like they enjoy what they're doing, but Better Than Ezra REALLY impressed me. They put on a free show here in Fayetteville, and I can't recall when I had that much fun at a concert. Kevin, Tom and Travis are truly professionals, in that they really and truly know how to include you (or seem to, anyway) in the show. They would cover songs not in their discography to great effect in the middle of their own songs, compose lyrics off the tops of their heads during musical interludes and generally make you feel as if there was no other place in the world that they'd rather be than right there with you. Kevin has such an incredible range in his vocals, and Tom is so engaging to watch play bass. But towering over them both was Travis, the drummer. Mein GOTT! That guy is AMAZING! Anyway, it was a great evening and worth the crappy traffic on the way home. I'll definitely be seeing these guys again. Maybe they'll play "At the Stars" the next time. VPP is the US consulate's Virtual Presence Post on South Island. The Embassy and the Consulate are in Wellington and Auckland, respectively, and I'd rather stay on South Island if I make a move that far. Thanks for the PM advice before I went to NZ, rhys. Now I just need to find a way to go back there on a more permanent basis, preferably in a GS job, like with the Embassy or the VPP in Christchurch. Any leads on that one? I noticed, while we were staying in Queenstown, that there were several houses on Fern Hill that seemed to be rented or otherwise occupied by 3-4 students or tourist-based industry workers. Might make living there a bit more affordable. Also, Glenorchy is only about 35 minutes away from Queenstown and seems to be a bit less busy than Queenstown...except for the fact that they were filming "Prince Caspian" up the road in Paradise. No offense Scott, or any others, but this is why new jumpers looking to find information while they're at work or school wind up hating the topical forums here, and why the Bonfire is the most used/abused forum on this site. Nobody listens (reads) beyond the profile and jump numbers. It's really sad that nobody saw that what he's really asking for is advice on modifying a helmet for a different type of cut-away system. He's even stated that he's not looking to fly camera right now. High-horses must be fun to ride, because there certainly are quite a few in use on these forums. Beav, if I knew anything that would be of help regarding you question about modifying a helmet, I'd offer it. But maybe my post will steer this thread back on course, instead of pulling all the "at your jump numbers..." experts out of the electronic woodwork here.
