Okay, it's short notice, from someone most of you don't know, but you're all invited to my birthday party this coming Saturday! There was a demo version of the CIA's keyhole satellite software at the Spy museum in DC. I found all of my old neighborhoods and stomping grounds. Way, cool. Then perhaps it was a resource availability issue: most people will have a can of whip cream in their refrigerator already. But, who am I kidding? My best bud out at the DZ explained to everyone how he thought it was disrespectful to do that to someone, and so when he made his 1000th jump, they left him alone in that regard. I had his back though. Nobody was going to sneak up on him. I just hope he's around when my 100th jump happens. I don't think I'll be able to get away with the same disrespect speech. See, the thing is, I spent my entire childhood in Riverside, and thought that 50 degrees was cold. After living in Spokane, WA for 11 years, I would PRAY that the cold was mitigated by some 50 degree weather. Perhaps we need lawrocket in here for this one, but it was my understanding that if you aren't using the image for the purpose of sales, whether of the image itself, or a product linked to the image, and you aren't trying to garner revenue from the image, then it isn't a civil issue. When I had drug dealers living across the street from me, and I was in the process of making life unbearable for them so that they would leave, I asked the police what was legal to photograph. They said that if it was visible from the street (public property), it was legal. Aside from all of that, I agree with the statement that if a person doesn't want their likeness used, why push the issue? Edited for spelling. We did a demo jump into a gradeschool presentation and the school went absolutely WILD! Be prepared for loads of questions, because those young minds will eat your presentation up, and you'll be the coolest parent EVER in their minds. Oh, and for those minds that are still back in gradeschool, remind them that blankets, bedsheets and umbrellas won't land them anywhere but in a hospital.
