New to skydiving looking for advise

Welcome to the wonderful (and expensive) world of skydiving! I won't be one to tell you what to do. I will say, however, that my girfriend and I waited until we were off student status before we started buying things. Our purchases were mainly based on the "icky" factor, meaning that it was the middle of summer and we didn't want to keep wearing the sweaty remains of other students' jumps, so we bought our own helmets, goggles and altimeters. We buy what we can when we can. It's all about what you can deal with and for how long...oh, and it's also about funding levels. Enjoy your new addiction. Well hmmm...I'm wondering if I should sell or hang on to the gear for those times when I'm not skydiving or working...BWAAAAAAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA! Okay, so I have one Auto-Mag, custom made with sniper barrel, fiber air (not CO2) tank with neoprene sock, battery operated autoloader and other goodies. Also have a Tippmann 98 custom, sniper barrel, two CO2 tanks and other extras. My last marker pistol is a plastic somethingorother...Stingray? Right on! Andy will be there...wait, make sure you wear more than bells. I know all about you and the whole "wearing the rig naked at home" thing. Dude, naked jumps are one thing, but naked carpet dives are only fun with a consenting partner. And you're on tap for britches-cleaning detail if people don't have fun...or have TOO MUCH fun. Two words: Beer & Sleep. If they've had beer and slept a few times since the last time they met you, there's a fair chance they won't remember for a few visits. I remember when I lived in Spokane, before they caught Yates, everyone thought the two were linked.
