Dude, you have my respect and admiration. I'm okay with needles if someone else is doing the sticking, mainly because I can look away if I need to, but I don't think I could manage to inject myself. >> Edited to add: Oh, and take good care of yourself, please. Oh WHOOPS! Uh, well...you could always pick the language first, then decide which medium you would be able to spend the most time at, i.e. computer, casette tapes, CD, etc. I'll have to go home and look at the CD-ROMs I bought so I can warn you away from them. Anything that promises more than one language on the same program is B.S. Yep, dating. That's the way. I'm learning Tagalog and the Bicol dialect, albeit very slowly since we are on different work schedules. Learn the funny/bad stuff first, that way you can make fun of people in another language. Holy CARP (the fish)! This really doesn't get any easier. Do what makes you happy, not in the short term, but in the long term. Life is too short to be unhappy. Whether it's hobbies or hubbies (for you), do what makes you happy. No matter what, do what makes you happy. If he digs you, he'll understand. If not, then you just saved yourself a whole mess of training you weren't into in the first place.
