  1. How do you propose doing that without affecting the child? Or is this a case of fuck the mom (literally), then fuck the kid (figuratively)? If the mother does not want to shoulder the full financial responsibility her deception/crime she has the options of abortion (within standard guidelines) or adoption. Stupidity if left untreated is self-correcting If ya can't be good, look good, if that fails, make 'em laugh.
  2. Child support money is supposed to be spent on the child, but as it's given to the parent, oftentimes that's not the case. Very little of that money is spent on the child, most is spent on the parent. Some of the "deadbeat" dads just grew tired of paying child support that the mother spent on herself and then buying the things the child needed on top of that so they skipped for the former for the latter. If a woman is so selfish to commit pregnancy fraud or even rape, do you think this type of person is going to magically change and put the child first? Remove the "profit" incentive both from the father of child support and government assistance in cases of pregnancy fraud or rape. Stupidity if left untreated is self-correcting If ya can't be good, look good, if that fails, make 'em laugh.
  3. Do you feel it's reasonable to expect rape victims to pay child support? Stupidity if left untreated is self-correcting If ya can't be good, look good, if that fails, make 'em laugh.
  4. Is this about OJ Simpson? there was a lot of supporting evidence that OJ was there, most notably the DNA. In contrast, in the GZ case, the evidence loosely supported his claims of how it went down. Of course it does. That is the whole idea behind a good story. Look at what you won't be able to deny, and then work some details around those facts that make you look good. He knew he couldn't deny following and pursuing Martin. So he said he 'stopped' before they had a confrontation. Nicely done. He knew he couldn't deny killing Martin, so he said he was in fear for his life at the moment he shot him. Nicely done. He knew no one saw how the altercation began, so he knew he could claim Martin creeped up and attacked him as he peacefully sat there waiting for police. Nicely done. I saw no video of how it started. I heard no testimony from people who saw Martin spring from cover and attack Zimmerman. Maybe you guys did since you are so certain of how it transpired. Afterwards George Zimmerman beat a puppy to death... with a baby.
  5. Dude, you're so blind. GZ is a ninja. He ran after TM and slide kicked him. TM was knocked off his feet but before he could hit the ground GZ already on his back used his powerful legs to not only kick him horizontally high in the air but barrel roll him so he faced GZ on his way down. GZ then laughed maniacally as he shot the falling TM seconds before landing on top of him. 6. Maybe my post was unclear, the Tampa Bay article was about forcible rape, but the article also mentioned that men paid child support also in cases where they were victims of statutory rape. 7. "Ladies and gentleman of the jury. Here are the facts. My client claimed under oath she said she was on birth control. Medical records obtained via court order show that not only was this not true, she had discussed pregnancy options with her doctor, as well as visited at least one sperm bank. In addition to his sworn testimony, we have provided other witnesses and Internet posts all showing he had no interest in having a child at this time and that she wanted one. I'm still waiting for the point where we establish that they made an oral contract. All you've proven here is that she seemed interested in kids (not necessarily with your client) and he was not, and of course that they did in fact get it on. "My client claimed under oath" means jack shit. Which was the whole point. Without a recording, a witness (usually not one around when you're trying to get some), or a WRITTEN, signed contract, the woman merely needs to say "we never talked about it." (Let's gloss over the part where her doctor refused to supply private medical records per HIPPA - I doubt that this would supercede) Since I learned currently male rape victims aren't even exempt from child support, what's the point in arguing this? 8. How about this one? http://www.supportguidelines.com/articles/art199903.html Stupidity if left untreated is self-correcting If ya can't be good, look good, if that fails, make 'em laugh.
  9. A boogie of skydivers. A party of skydivers if ya like double meanings. Stupidity if left untreated is self-correcting If ya can't be good, look good, if that fails, make 'em laugh.
  10. Can you imagine the outrage were this reversed? http://www.tampabay.com/news/courts/he-says-he-said-no-to-sex-now-says-no-to-child-support/1183449 Male statutory rape victims are required to pay child support too. Stupidity if left untreated is self-correcting If ya can't be good, look good, if that fails, make 'em laugh.
  11. Bolded the important part. The argument is over the lack of legal recourse and protection of these women. We're not even to the point of arguing "it's hard to prove" as at this point no one has been able to provide one case or one law that protects men against for lack of a better term, pregnancy fraud. At this point it seems a woman could do/say anything to a man short of raping him and he's forced to support the child. Hell, at this point wouldn't be surprised to hear that even raped men are required to support the child. Stupidity if left untreated is self-correcting If ya can't be good, look good, if that fails, make 'em laugh.
  12. This is where supporting evidence such as subpoenaed prescription and medical records come in. That doesn't establish a claimed verbal contract. You heard him say on the stand were this truly an accidental pregnancy, my client would be more than willing to provide support. But this was no accident, far from it. You heard testimony from an expert witness describing the selfish mindset of an individual that would get pregnant this way was bordering on sociopathy. All you've heard from the other side boils down to is that she really wants this child, but needs financial assistance to do so." (Slight changes may be necessary depending on whether the man is the defendant or plaintiff.)
  13. because they're impossible to prove, it's a pointless argument. This is where supporting evidence such as subpoenaed prescription and medical records come in. Witness testimony. Yet another reason to video sex. Could start with a video liability waiver. Stupidity if left untreated is self-correcting If ya can't be good, look good, if that fails, make 'em laugh.
  14. Countersuit for fraud. Interesting idea. Even if it doesn't work, the court costs might nullify any benefit of the child support payments. Stupidity if left untreated is self-correcting If ya can't be good, look good, if that fails, make 'em laugh.
  15. I have not seen anyone in this thread think that it's OK. It's not OK, it's shitty, devious, deceptive, and cruel. It totally, totally, sucks. Hopefully that kind of deception is rare. Just as hopefully the guy who gets a woman pregnant and doesn't hang around is rare (i.e. some guys lie about their name). Guys do lie to get women in bed, too, and she can end up just as pregnant. Wendy P. Being rare does not mean there should not be legal and financial consequences. Somewhere lines need to be drawn: Level 1. No financial support from the other parent or the government, putting child up for adoption or relinquishing custody to the other parent is suggested. Level 2. Parent loses custodial rights. Child is put up for adoption or other parent can petition for custody. Stupidity if left untreated is self-correcting If ya can't be good, look good, if that fails, make 'em laugh.
  16. He could have chosen to wear a condom And if he wore a condom but has physical/video evidence showing the woman getting pregnant by taking the condom from the trash and inserting the sperm into herself? Stupidity if left untreated is self-correcting If ya can't be good, look good, if that fails, make 'em laugh.
  17. This would have no effect on the man's financial responsibility. It's no longer a case of he said/she said or an "accident." Willful, deliberate, and most importantly evidentiary proof. May even be enough to get the woman declared an unfit mother and put the baby up for adoption. You either have no knowledge of the legal standard for removal of children or no experience in the system. Either that or you are simply posting on the way you think things "ought to be." No matter how much you might wish they were that way, they aren't. That's sad as any woman who'd intentionally "trap" a man with a pregnancy should not be a parent. Removing the child from the start would give that child the best chance and removes any "reward" of her deception. Stupidity if left untreated is self-correcting If ya can't be good, look good, if that fails, make 'em laugh.
  18. Oh yeah a lying mother and a trapped father are gonna be great parents/role models. The best their kids can hope for is that the two part ways and their step parents do a better job. Stupidity if left untreated is self-correcting If ya can't be good, look good, if that fails, make 'em laugh.
  19. This would have no effect on the man's financial responsibility. It's no longer a case of he said/she said or an "accident." Willful, deliberate, and most importantly evidentiary proof. 20. Nope. In the example, he was assuming that *she* was being responsible about *her* birth control options. It's their birth control option. If one party changes their mind, they have the responsibility and duty to let the other party know. Stupidity if left untreated is self-correcting If ya can't be good, look good, if that fails, make 'em laugh.
  21. The right thing for him to do is to take responsibility for his own birth control if he doesn't want a baby. In the example above, it could be argued that he did. Assuming IUDs can only be removed by a doctor, subpoena the medical records, and the man might be able to show malice to limit/eliminate his financial responsibility. Stupidity if left untreated is self-correcting If ya can't be good, look good, if that fails, make 'em laugh.
  22. Perhaps one could draw up a legal document for a couple for what would be done if the woman becomes pregnant. This wouldn't force the woman to abide with what was in the contract, but might relinquish the man's responsibilities should she choose not to. Stupidity if left untreated is self-correcting If ya can't be good, look good, if that fails, make 'em laugh.
  23. I phrased that poorly. Didn't mean to imply that women got a freebie, just contrasting that men have limited input on decision #2 - having the kid (#1 being "let's do it"), but the full financial share as one of two parents. Inconsistent, but for the reasons given. It's not always that the woman wants the child, man does not. Sometimes it's reversed. Either way it's still her choice. Stupidity if left untreated is self-correcting If ya can't be good, look good, if that fails, make 'em laugh.
  24. I have that right Will be credit card debt free in a week. Wedding plans underway to marry the love of my life on a beautiful beach. Will finally get the new car and laptop we need. More Skydiving. We're healthy and gainfully employed. BUT.. I can't beat this damn Candy Crush level. It has bombs and jellies. If you concentrate on the bombs you don't get all the jellies and if you focus on the jellies the bombs get you. Been stuck on it a week and it's not even a section end level. AAARGH!!!! #FML TO HELL WITH EVERYTHING!!! Stupidity if left untreated is self-correcting If ya can't be good, look good, if that fails, make 'em laugh.
  25. Sure, but what's the functional difference between an insured skydiver and an insured couch potato Twinkie addict? In both cases the costs of the risky behavior are borne by others. The moral hazard is the same. Depends on if they're paying for their own insurance or the government is making others pay for it. Stupidity if left untreated is self-correcting If ya can't be good, look good, if that fails, make 'em laugh.
