Have you considered the possibility of the TI being hired with the stipulation and understanding he NEVER fly with a passenger of the sex of his previous victims? I'm not entirely certain I see the issue of the guy being allowed to work with male passengers if his victims have been, for instance, women. The folly in this whole argument is choice of execution method. These alternatives are being proposed and some will likely be implemented due to lack of availability of what was a standard method. Maybe they'll come up with a more efficient way, maybe they won't. Either way, the death penalty should and will continue with or without injectable options. It is amazing what you can accomplish in life when you develop self control. Self control is unlimited when you have the power of the indwelling Holy Spirit. The power to overcome is a fascinating adventure expanding the boundaries of life beyond imagination. But then again, all some people want out of life is to get their rocks off, any way they can. I think there would be far less greed and war in the world if every adult had at least one orgasm a day.

Agreed! Let's start by heavily prosecuting companies that exploit undocumented workers. This would help fix two issues simultaneously; immigration and unemployment. It wasn't needless - it was the carrying out of justice. That's you speaking emotionally again. You can execute a person without tearing up the body. We probably would all agree that death by quartering would violate the 8th. I think asserting that an execution method that disfigures the body is also a violation is a reasonable argument to make, even if not all would agree. The sentence is death, not making all that knew him as uncomfortable as possible. 1. Morticians can do some amazing work. 2. Think that how they died and why would make for an uncomfortable funeral, not the condition of the body. Government stopped being able to stimulate the economy long ago, all they're doing now is just trying to sustain it. In your example, you yourself maybe a positive economic asset, but unless the college as a whole is self sustaining/profitable, it could still be considered a taker, especially if the students received government financial aid or student loans. From a strictly economic sense, a government is rarely if ever going to "break even" on it's "investments."

Agree we need better definitions, and likely a percentage of non government income to better distinguish a maker from a taker as the government often turns around and taxes all or a portion of the money it provided. Extremely wasteful, but that's a whole 'nother thread.

On the other hand, it's "funny" how conservatives who claim to have such respect for life would rather that people would wait until they are absolutely certain they are having a heart attack (as opposed to heartburn) or having a stroke (as opposed to a sudden unexplained severe headache) before seeking treatment. Never mind that by that point the patient will be dead or have suffered irreversible damage; better that than "wasting" a single dollar on diagnostics and tests. Don Every case of heartburn nor every headache is not a sign of heart attack nor stroke. Most people, excluding hypochondriacs, don't seek medical attention for such common symptons. They take something or maybe just rest. However, thanks to EMTALA, if a person comes into the ER o basically get "free" medicine, for a minor condition, they have to be checked. Please cite an example of a public hospital denying triage care in an emergency situation prior to EMTALA. Why specify "public"? In an emergency what does it matter how the hospital is funded? Public hospitals aren't free; TAXPAYERS foot the bill. Exactly. And as a taxpayer we should ensure our money is spent wisely. Just as those that run/fund a private hospital should do. Yet another who has forgotten ER used to mean Emergency Room. Severe chest pains, that needs to be checked. Sore throat, headache, congestion? Either go to a pharmacy, free clinic, or regular doctor. The key word is Emergency. But thanks to EMTALA, an ER doc is required to check for damn near everything.
