    I did read what you wrote. You insinuated that people were dying from being denied care because they were black. No other reason. Just skin color. As for the value of an individual's life, that's up to the individual. It's ludicrous to propose we offer the same level of treatment and care to the homeless crackhead that has failed or refused rehab as a working person with insurance in relatively good health.     So your saying that critical cases, such as auto accidents brought in by the EMTs, people died because they couldn't find their IDs? Hospitals were refusing to Triage and stabilize people? Or was it just poor people that tried to treat the ER as their primary care were turned away and just happened to die, largely due to their lifestyle? Probably the same with the "patient dumping" : cases where the indigent were terminal or not viable for treatment: a wino is not going to be a candidate for a liver transplant. No, let's just make this a racial issue. Let's once again ignore all factors except race to make more bad government policy.     It's time to get a different job, actually. I don't have money worries in the sense of "paying my bills", I'm just… well, not happy with what I can do. All around me my friends are taking vacations, buying homes, doing 50 jumps a month and getting to really enjoy life. I'm not gonna pretend it doesn't make me really jealous. But are you HAPPY despite the material things your friends have or do? Not remotely. That's because you don't have children.     Doubt it is as simple as that. Likely the reason their previous pre-ACA plan covered contraception was not by their choosing. They may have previously tried to get them excluded then too. This is an important case as it sets the line for religion and business thst was created by ACA. "Yankee" or "Yank" is a pretty well-known worldwide pejorative (sort of the equivalent of "Limey" or "Kraut." And has been and remains pejorative in parts of the country. "Limey" is a compliment. It refers to the genius of the British in recognizing the health benefit of vitamin C in citrus fruits, thus preventing British sailors from being scurvy ridden like those of other nations (Merchant Shipping Act, 1867). Being recognized for genius is not a pejorative except, maybe, among Republicans. And cracker is a Betty Crocker term. Those aren't racist because they refer to white people.

Was talking with her Uncle who is even more so and he said the word "Indian" when referring to his tribe. Was about to correct him, but realized the absurdity of doing so and stopped myself.     And therein lies the problem with these laws. Their focus is not equal treatment for all, but to "protect" one group from another. Group specific protection laws become reverse discrimination.     Nor have we had to use them for other races/orientations. Hence the needs for anti-discrimination laws of specific races or orientations are far less. If we truly want to end discrimination we have to acknowledge and expose it. Laws restricting discrimination by private businesses just drives it underground and further engrained.     Do you really think allowing private businesses to choose who they do business with the above stated economic disincentives would reverse all civil rights progress? Look what happened to that Oregon bakery. They were driven out of business not by the government, but by activism and boycotts. The public and the market at large is not going to stand for a discriminatory business. Hence no need for a law banning it.     Then why didn't businesses put an end to segregation themselves? History doesn't appear to be on your side. Don't believe an intermediate step such as this was even tried. Businesses are also far more dependent on government contracts, tax breaks, and other incentives now. Any business that does business with any level of government can't discriminate in any way. Discrimination also discludes the business from any aid or tax breaks. But any other company can discriminate at will? Don't think you realize the limitations this subjects said discriminatory business to. Very few, if any, would bother. We're not talking about large corporations here The difference is instead of an outright ban, it is curtailed through economic policy.     Are they required to list all the gear manufacturers, or just those used in their tandem and training programs? This may come back to bite them. Ex: UPT targeted in a lawsuit at a Strong only DZ simply because they're listed on the waiver. Sometimes being on the waiver just makes you an easier shotgun lawsuit target.

    True there are fewer, but they are more vocal, diverse, and better funded and organised. They also don't have as far to go.
