And it is totally acceptable with you that we are spending all this money to do all this? Why is it our responsibility to rebuild? Let me guess, this is where you tell me that we are responsible because we were the invading force that caused the destruction? What other country did we spend billions on rebuilding after invading during wartime? I'm sure halliburton has nothing to do with our "extended stay" Guess I now know why we didnt invade afghanistan hunting down our true enemy. That country couldnt have provided the long term benefits that our president is reaping from invading iraq. the funny thing, well actually it is pretty sad is that bush failed at every business venture he embarked on and now he has billions of dollars at his disposal. Seems like a recipe for disaster to me. Track records speak for themselves.

Thats where you fail to understand the depth of this problem. Failed programs are cut all the time, failing programs are now being cut due to funds going towards the war. HOWEVER, failed programs are not the only programs being eliminated. Critical programs furthering technology in the government space are being crushed based solely on the fact that the money is going elsewhere. And it is not just technology programs, the budgets as a whole are being hit hard and it is effecting every single government agency outside of DHS. Iraq is nothing more than a money pit to us now that is not only gobbling up federal funds but also taking unnecessary lives. IT IS TOTAL BULLSHIT ON ALL FRONTS I am still waiting for a bush supporter to comment on my statement in my original post. Why the fuck did dipshit bush declare the war was over almost a year ago??? When in fact the heaviest fighting took place after that declaration and more money is being spent now than when we were "at war".

NEWSFLASH: The existence of government programs provide employment for thousands of people. I am a government contractor. I live and breath government programs on a daily basis. Budget cuts hurt government programs, budget cuts cause the elimination of contracting positions. Plain and simple. I think it is you who should read up prior to posting about something you know nothing about.

The job market has come back to some degree. However, Bush is draining the govt of money and because of that thousands of contractors and people who do business with contractors are going to lose their jobs. DHS is a very small piece of the Federal government, yet this worthless agency has managed to suck all the money out of the other agencies and bureaus that actually need it.

That sounds about right. So while he is spending all this money there will be thousands of americans losing their jobs as these programs are wiped out. I guess that is a little too granular for Bush to even notice. I am glad to see he is so intent on working on providing a better way of life for people in the middle east while neglecting ours in this country.

80 Billion more going to the war. If he put 1/5 the effort into improving our own country instead of being hellbent on winning this personal war of his he might be able to earn a little more respect.
