    new ipod..

    Yeah I was thinking the 8 gig Nano, or the Touch because there is no harddrive in it.. but then for the money of a Touch I can get a 80Gb pimp daddy Classic..
  16. I totally agree with the above here. Don't switch to a Velo until you're flying it at 2.0 or above. It's still a VERY fun canopy to fly at lower wingloading, but you will get more out of a Katana if you're flying under 2.0 My progression was: Triathlon 190 400jumps Sabre2 150 600 jumps Sabre2 135 500 jumps Stiletto 135 100 jumps Katana 120 20 jumps Velocity 120 2 jumps Velocity 111 1 jump Velocity 103 (currently at 2.0, started off at 2.3) 800 jumps The velo is a whole different animal and flies completely different from anything you've flown before. I'd say switch to a canopy with a longer recovery arc for a couple hundred jumps (like the Sabre2 or Katana.. in your case coming from a Stiletto you probably like the Katana better) and then start thinking about going to a Velo.. Just my 2 cents..

    new ipod..

    So my ipod took a crap after three years of (ab)use. I am thinking maybe get the new 80Gb one and fill that puppy up, or maybe get one without a harddrive in it.. (since I think that's whats broken on my 20Gb one) Any advice? Should I just say screw it and get a Nano (or a Touch) with no hard drive in it.. and have to "plan" my music a bit better? or go back to having my whole collection with me at all times..
  18. Check if your firewire conversion is turned on. It's probably set to output to DV instead of 1080i HDV I've experienced similar behavior, you can control the camera, but the video doesn't show up because somehow the data doesn't come across.. Iwan
  19. Ok.. I have a question about this... how good of a skier do you need to be? I've never been on skis, only snowboarding but this just looks too cool..
  20. I usually look at who else is on the hybrid. I don't like bringing a couple of very "young" jumpers on a hybrid, but I wouldn't have any problem bringing someone with 50 jumps or so that's proficient on their belly on a small hybrid (as a base flyer) As far as hangers, stingers.. they should have a decent number of jumps freeflying before they are allowed on in those slots.. But.. this is just my opinion A hybrid can be done safely even with low jump numbers, the skydive just needs to be planned well.
  21. NICE, but why is there 15 seconds of black at the end? I'm jealous of the talent you get to film. ha ha... its a hidden ending :P I didn't realize it was there until I watched it. It was a leftover track of audio that I forgot to remove.. I'll be updating the movie to fix that..
  22. The Sabre2 is an awesome canopy to start swooping with, it has a decent recovery arc and it can be flown VERY high performance, even at the wingloading you are looking at. I went close to coast to coast on our pond numerous times on both my Sabre2 150s as well as my Sabre2 135s (our pond is about 200ft when its full) Have fun and be safe! This was with my Sabre2 150 http://www.dropzone.com/cgi-bin/forum/gforum.cgi?do=post_attachment;postatt_id=40343; and here's one on my Sabre2 135: http://www.dropzone.com/cgi-bin/forum/gforum.cgi?do=post_attachment;postatt_id=58988;
  23. Not really a "best shot" here, but definately a compilation of the "best of" / personal favorites video from the last year or so.. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CdqNv8aqE2c Enjoy
