Several people have asked me if i was coming back to this one this year.. and the answer was hell yeah if I can make it.. Unfortunately work is seriously getting in the way of my boogies from now till at least February.. so I won't be able to attend this BADASS boogie this year.. I did put in my request for time off for next year already though.. I'm going.. work or not.

nope.. is it a Sony .6? See the thing that a lot of people dont understand is a shot does not happen because of a lens.. it happens because you were there, at the right time. Of course the right equipment helps, but its not necessary. With the .6 you'll just have to back up a bit more than someone that has a .5 Greg Gasson shoots without a wide angle.. you dont NEED a wide angle.. it just makes life easier..

the royal lenses I've seen all have that "feature" Use manual focus with those.. it might even be recommended on their website or manual..

Then spend your $$ on a good 0.5 wide angle.. there is no need to go wider if you fly outside. You'll see a lot of distortion on the wider lenses, and personally... I hate that.. but that's just me.. I'm from Holland.. and veird sometimes.. so take my advice with a grain of salt..

Thats where you want to start If I am flying inside, I'd wish I had a .3 but for all of my other stuff (I mostly fly outside) I use a 0.5 or a 0.43 Basically.. bring the right tools for the kind of flying you are doing. If you know upfront you are going to be taking docks and all that, probably bring the 0.3. If you know you're going to be on the outside filming others, bring the 0.5 just my humble 2 cts..

Ok.. you answered your own question already.. that is exactly what you need to look out for when you try the new canopy. demo a 149 and then get a 139, that way you can compare the two canopies better and get used to it without really increasing your wingloading. Also.. like others said.. I think the CF2 is more of a high performance canopy and the recommendations of 1.6 sound like you might want to look at a canopy in between.. Try the Sabre2 150 and 135 as well.. the openings are different, but the Sabre2 is a swoop monster as well and a great canopy to learn to swoop on.

They are using the camping showers again, not the trailer we had a couple of years ago. Also.. Saturday night is "filmfest" before Karaoke starts.. bring out your editted footage and we'll play it on the big screen. Of course, we're going to be playing our jumps from the day on the screen and we can point and laugh at each other's cool and or stupid moves!

any of you have any experiences / feedback on HD editting on the PC? I am ANTI-PC for video editting but one of my friends wants to start editting his footage and wants to expose himself to the headaches of using a PC for this.. Any advice? (or more arguments against PC for me to throw at him) thanks! Iwan

I just remember on Saturday last year that is seemed like we could have used more lift capacity. Just sayin' Per DZ Management, its gonna be our King Air and a Twin Otter. At the time of the posting there was talk about maybe an additional aircraft. Don't get your hopes up, it will most likely be just the two airplanes. The additional aircraft was maybe a helicopter, but those guys are really hard to give a commitment since they are "on call" for fires and stuff like that.
