    Hey everyone ... Yesterday, I made a page for our website that deals with only skydiving. Before, I just had one column on the hobbies page, but it is more than that.     I finally got read some of the postings regarding the riser inserts that can help ease the pressure of a cutaway when the risers are twisted up. I am wondering which you think are best ? I hear they have plastic and metal inserts. Which are better ? Or... are there other types that I don't know of that may be even better ? Thanks for all your help.

    Duct Tape use #423: While doing a naked skydive, use a 3" piece of duct tape and move your unit into a safe position away from the leg straps. Put the piece in place that will not allow your unit to move in freefall. Jump. Pull. Land. Remove tape. Apply cool water and/or ice to red area. LOL. They must have left this one out of my Duct Tape book... however it should be in there.

    WingNut... sorry to hear that you hurt your ankle. Laura did the same thing to her ankle (mountain biking on the Continental Divide in Colorado this past July) and it hurt her pretty bad for weeks. She ended up opting out of going to the Doc. But man, it looked pretty nasty. LOL Hope you heal soon !!!

    [reply... I was quite surprised with bandwitdth issues. My camera passes thru the drive (camera connected to drive, drive to the PC) and I have NO issues. One of my friends makes documentaries professionally and has his setup this way. He has no problems with it.

    First of all, here is a link to a search of this forum with "capture card": HERE I would say get something that is pretty basic and you aren't paying a lot for a name and/or useless software (unless you'll use it). Here is what I got and I am VERY happy with it: FireConnect 4300. It has 3 plugs and I have had no hardware/software issues with it and my PC120 or with my parents' JVC miniDV.     My thoughts? If I was being fired upon by someone, they would get some retalliation. If it WAS an enemy and those pilots had to wait for some damn clearance, they could have been shot down or killed in that time. Screw it ! I say the military needs to get some better system for that situation or perhaps the Canuks and the Yankees should figure out who is where at times. http://www.brandonandlaura.com
