Could be, because those in our gov. and the press who despise the Pres. would disclose any military secret just to stick a knife in his back, even to their own harm. The pres was elected twice I don't think the people despise him or he wouldn't have gotten elected the first time. I don't care what political he's from as long as he can walk the walk. However GW and his people have proven time and again that they weren't the right choice for the job. His latest FUBAR in Lebanon was just another example that GW and his staff don't get it. Due to what happened to our troops during VN we will continue to support out troops in the sand pile and their families at home. The next 18 month's of GWs term will be .......interesting. Duck and cover R.I.P. .

Hi HW I was wondering how you senior citizens could remember all this info 40 yr's after the fact.. Then you mentioned the logbook We scratched our head scratched our butt then checked our Official Parachutist Log produced by PI. the logbook even has a page entitled "Record of equipment" So we "remembered" the following info Item:PC S/n: 7011080, purchased from: Midwest, :Date of Purchase Jan 1970, Purchase price: $290, Distinctive Markings: RWB. If anyone has the canopy please PM me. Great memory HW. ... Now where did I leave my logbook R.I.P.

QuoteExpecting the chickenhawks to be drafted is a pipe deam like expecting the rich to pay their fair share of taxes. The pentagon learned something from VN the majoity of americans will not accept another "draft"like we had in the 60's. In response to this attitude the pentagon came up the idea to recruita large contingent of weekend warriors that "volunteered" to join for various socio economic reasons. Whats I weekend a month vs the benifits? This technique has given Rummy the ability to say that all the US soldiers in Iraq are "volunteers". So now that the rat is out of the bag there won't be a draft, and the military and reserve/national guard slots will be more difficult to fill. The half assed solution is to offer more cash incentives to join the military, lower the minimum standard for recruits and raise the maximum age. Even this and the merc's ("contractors") won't be enough to fill the ranks. IMO now that iraq has a democratic gov't and a standing army we can do the same thing we did in VN, Declare victory, withdraw and act surprised how quickly the country implodes. Good job Rummy, brenner, conney, et al. R.I.P.

What can we do about Skyride?
slug replied to ChasingBlueSky's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
We didn't see anything in the news report that would give a potential customer a warm fuzzy feeling by doing business with the subject of the story R.I.P. -

We have a GM product with aGPS tracking device. The sales pitch was if the air bags deployed or the car was stolen the police would be able to find it. the joke was the GPS would show the stolen car traveling across the ocean. Lots of techno stuff already out there. Your cell phone, whenever you use you CC and it gets logged in they know the time, and place. By the time we get home and check our CC acct on online the info is already in the system. The beast s already out of the cage. What me worry R.I.P.

We had a national chain fast food resturant that put some children in the hospital for eating undercooked hamburgers. The bactateria was called E-coli. We're talking bad sick, one very bad. But the only people that got sick were little children. We ate a double biggie sme day and it didn't phase us. So I tjhinkits a exposure to weight thing and building up a natural immune system Now a lot of food chains if not all use a thermoteter to insure the center of the burger, hot dog etc is hot enough to kill the e-coli. The local joke was please cook the shit out of the burgers Beware a couple of years later some little ones got sick from the petting zoo at the county fair. Now handy wipes are avail after the little ones are done petting the nice little farm animal and before the kids can put their hand in their mouth's. R.I.P.

it doesn't make what they are showing any less true. especially since rueters admitted it... Hi Falxori I think there's a old saying something like one of the first casualties of war is the truth. We were Dahran during desert storm and witnessed a scud, taking out Bldg. approx 20 US dead. The scud wasn't fired on by the ground to air missle, we witnessed it fall from the sky. Then we turned on CNN and watched a SCud being intercepted by a ground to air missle with the excuse that the patriot only destroyed the scud and not the war head before it hit the bldg. Everyone lies during war thats how the generals come up with 100% execution and zero negative indicators. R.I.P.

Hi Monky We want to see the back of the rig with you wearing it on the ground. BTW I'm a babe R.I.P.

Either a real bargain of real dangerous
slug replied to Scoop's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
Anyone who buys it is going to have to have a rigger install a line set. A buyer with half a brain would also ask the rigger to certify its airworthiness (perhaps even before purchasing said line set). There's gotta be at least some element of caveat emptor in here... Hi NW Bid is currently $95 plus $25 shipping, plus the cost of buying & intalling a line set. The seller is making a lot of promises ie 200 jumps etc. At current price of $120 a bad deal for a car cover IMO. The seller has a 100% feedback rateing based on 42 items. the majority are $15 video games looks like one canopy sold and delivered to to a happy ????. R.I.P. -
Jerry your correct as always but I'll amplify if you don't mind. AKA "pea gravel or die" parachute's were one size fits all even the little people could get hurt doing downwinders, even if they didn't miss the peas. The big fella's (real men) same size canopy BTW Acc wasn't measured in cm more like inch's and feet although folks like Mr & Ms Hayes, GK's , Ms Sterns could get consistent dead centers depending on the winds. the DC was approx the size of a coffee cup.. First point of contact was detrmined visually and marked manually by a judge who also had to be out of the line of fire for the next person in the stack R.I.P.

Hi Tornado Sorry bad math 534 jumps plus 166 more = 700 jumps You know something we don't? Thanks for the bump R.I.P.
-
I wouldn't have made my first jump if it wasn't for the waiver Forgot we didn't have a waiver. or a tandem, or a aod, or a beeper box. We did it because it was a challenge, the percieved danger was just something to keep us on our toes. I don't think as many people would be jumping if the odds were stacked against us. R.I.P.

Did anyone see the Mike Mullins murder case on A+E channel
slug replied to recovercrachead's topic in The Bonfire
It's very old news, and Mr Mullins was found not guilty so whats to talk about. How much stuff do you believe that you see on T.V. R.I.P. -
Damn we missed it The shipping price was reasonable, the description was creative "extra's included". The seller got a great price. was the white bag a "diaper" I wonder if a certain gear dealer in oregon would...nope i don't think he would even stoop that low. Can't wait to bid on the canopies R.I.P.
