Self inflating belt for beach jumps
slug replied to tetra316's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
Hi Twardo Stand corrected. Big people wear the set, little people can split the pair and cost just like para gear. The military has to design their flotation gear for one size fits all. Do you know if military surplus stores carry them? Can't imagine uncle sam keeping the same set in service for 40 yr's. R.I.P. -
OMFG Those canopies in picture #2 look so small next to that big devil Wonder how close close they actually got to the devil, talk about a big . R.I.P.

Self inflating belt for beach jumps

The LPU flotation chamber on the same page may be available at a army navy surplus stores. For a lot less $$$$$. They were used 35 yr's ago and may still be used on military planes and actually were designed and issued in a set to be worn with a harness as a pair. If anyone finds them available in the surplus market cut the harness off and sew belt loops on the back of each chamber holder. Anyone remember the flotation device sold by some jumpgear dealers that was supposed to be worn on the wrist.. R.I.P. -

You can fly with the belts, but not the C02 cartridges. You can still inflate it, but you have to do it manually (there's a tube you blow into). What I did was order a C02 cartridge online to be shipped to someone who was driving to the boogie where flotation gear was required. Or, you could find a sporting goods store in the local area that carries the cartridges. Funny thing about the CO2 cartridge rules since every airliner that fly's over water has a life vest under every seat that is inflated by the same CO2 cartridge R.I.P. -

Not a lawyer I think he is permited to refuse what he considers a illegal order but then the army gets to decide if he's going to get a spanking and how hard. I assume there's many different ways to refuse the order to deploy. By the soldier going to the media and making the issue public, he's putting the army in a position where they don't have many options. IMO he's in deep Doo Doo R.I.P.

Agreed the women needs to get rid of the moron and find a smarter dog R.I.P.

Hi Mr Mitchell Do you have any info how commen it is for a airport of this size to only have one person in the tower at the time the accident occurred. We're wondering if the decision to increase the peeps in the tower was planned prior to the accident Lucky for the flying public your way to young to retire. R.I.P.

Hi W PA no problemo. The idiot who started this post needs to go back to H.S. to learn how to read the link in his orig post. See that wasn't that hard for a PA is SP "Court-martial recommended for Fort Lewis officer By Hal Bernton Seattle Times staff reporter Lt. Ehren Watada refused to ship out with his unit. An Army investigator has recommended a court-martial trial for 1st Lt. Ehren Watada, finding "reasonable grounds" that the Fort Lewis-based officer refused to deploy in June with his unit for Iraq, showed contempt toward the political leaders and engaged in unbecoming conduct. Investigating officer Lt. Col Mark Keith also said that Watada's statements that soldiers can stop the war by refusing to fight border on violations of a separate military code — mutiny and sedition." I'm not a legal beagle but the way I read the above article the bad guy hasn't been court martialed yet only recommended for the dishonor of the court martial by a Lt Col. Is the LT col like a grand jury? or he the judge and jury.? R.I.P.

While attending The LP boogie (not jumping) We were watching one of the packers (in the shade) A customer dropped his rig off and the packer requested the customer to set his own brakes. I thought this was a common courtesy to set your own brakes but the packer informed his customer that due to the different rigs & ways of stowing breaks he preferred customers to do their own to help prevent a brake fireing on opening. Info only. R.I.P.

That's a shitload of Cessnas! Eule Hi Eule Dave Ruckett used to organize a 50 way out of 15 cessna's in Wa stste. The V formation of 15 cessna's sounded like a hornets nest from the gound Don't remember how many different days they tried it but with 15 planes there's lots of room for mis communication, mechanical problems, weather in Wa state etc. so i think they only got very close to their goal. -
Hi SDJ Not a pilot Is it SOP when the tower or center gives instructions to a flt crew they repeat the instructions rather than just acknowledge instructions were recieved. R.I.P.

I thought it affected the merchant in much the same way as if they deposited a check and said check bounced, that it came out of their account with whatever credit processor they were using. Hi Matt Good point, not sure how the merchants come out on the deal. I'm guessing some gear dealers have been stung. We had a person using our CC ordering stuff over the phone, delivered to a home address, buying gas with liscense plate # etc. I took it personnel fdollowed it up with the CC and the police, a non event. R.I.P.
-
Don't work that way. The police have to be able to prove that the guy who did the dirty deed is the same dude that has the name and address. The CC company's just charge it off as the cost of doing business and justify the high interest rate. R.I.P.

Danger Danger Friday is the first of the month When folks gets their monthly checks, plus the holiday cookout shopping thing. We're poor old retired folks so our rule of thumb is costco never at the beginning of the month, never on weekends or just before holidays, best time 10-2 or a hr before closing. And we never run errands on weekends to damn crowded with all those folks who have to work during the week. R.I.P.
