  1. You are a Toenail. (Taken from Ebaumsworld.com) Okay, maybe you're not THAT gross. But yes. You are a toenail. You usually get in the way of peoples' lives and are annoying at times, but people hang out with you because you are amusing. You enjoy acting retarded in front of large crowds of people. Many may call you a dork and a loser, but the truth is that you are very intelligent, and this will be proven in the near future. You are dependent on your friends, but you are not willing to conform into society's stereotypical mold. You may be called a loser, but at least you aren't a nobody. Even the opposite sex finds your uniqueness attractive. You stand out, and that's what makes you special. Even if people leave you hanging. Most compatible with: Hoe. LOL!!
  2. I do that all the time. Sometimes I forget about the radio 'til i've been in the car a half an hour or more. :) -A
  3. oooo, beach jumps! I don't think I got enough of those, actually, not sure I ever could. Thanks for the map of dz's along I-10! :) -A
  4. Will do. Thanks, Shannon... see you soon! :) -A
  5. I second the recommends for: Long Beach Aquarium San Diego Zoo Venice Beach These were my most memorable moments in SoCal and must-sees as far as i'm concerned! :D -A
  6. You'll be passing lots of good DZ's along the way, although it's a hot time of year. Other things to do would be angle north and see the Grand Canyon on your way through, or see Carlsbad Caverns, or numerous other POIs. --That's a thought.. I suppose we'll see how are schedules work out. Good luck parking two cars in Berkeley lol! I am actually hoping that we find somewhere to live that is convenient so that I can sell my car Angela.
  7. Wow, this seems to be the consensus. I will certainly consider it! Who knows, maybe we'll make the drive on the weekend, then the minutes are free -A
  8. I'm not sure what service you use but I know with my service I always have coverage issues when I drive long distances. Walkie talkies are a great alternative. So you're moving to SF? SWEEEEET! That's where I live. We'll have to throw you a welcome party! ROCK!!! Yep, we're definitely moving that way, but it won't be until July. I'll shoot you a pm when it gets closer.
  9. "You can BUY audio books at cracker barrel and then turn them in at the next cracker barrel and get more! Plus a yummy meal. I got a map with all the cracker barrels in the us! You too can pick one up at your local cracker barrel. If you don't know where that is, pm me and I'll look it up for you!!! " NICE!! I will check that out at our local Cracker Barrel soon (I've got one about 5 miles out, so no need to map for me, but thanks CB pusher!!) -A
  10. Shoot, Mel, I didn't think about it.. but do you think we'll have a problem getting signal on our phones? I haven't driven across country before, I bet there are some blackout areas where signal is nowhere to be found. I will definitely give you our new addy as soon as we get one. :) It was a stressful time, but i've accepted admission at Berkeley for Fall of '05. :) BIG HUGS!! -A
  11. I'm sorry, did you just say I can return books on CD at Cracker Barrel? I'm confused. Phree, good call. I don't have an XM capable stereo, but Rory does so maybe he'll want to hook that up in his car. Then i'll be forced to be jealous! :) -A
  12. Well, as many of you know, my boyfriend and I will be moving across the country, possibly in seperate cars if we go at the same time. So, while alone in my car for countless hours a day, I am wondering what I will want to do. Radio and cds are bound to get old, so I started thinking about books on cd, etc. I have a learn to speak spanish cd set, so I might try listening to that... who knows, maybe i'll really learn spanish by the time I reach San Fran. Anyone know of any other good learn-stuff-on-cd sets? I guess i'll probably want to get a hands-free phone thingamajig so that we can talk on our trip, but I don't drive a lexus, so my car is fairly noisy inside, too. Thoughs, tips? We are going to take I-10 all the way, and might consider stopping for some jumps if we find a dz not too far off, too. Not moving for a couple of months, but i'm a freak so want to be ready thx -A
  13. Crackheads are like that haha! Ok, so I only amuse me, oh well -A

  16. IN AT BERKELEY! Chemical Engineering / double major / Materials Science Out-of-State community college transfer 3.73 gpa (all A's in all of the upper level major courses) Honest Essay, spoke about my life and things i've accomplished and overcome. When I dropped out of high school I never thought my life would take this turn. I am so grateful for this opportunity, I am about to cry. Ok, I am actually crying. Angela
  17. Wow, sorry to hear that:( Sounds like it was a heck of a deal!! I think any of the newer rigs are good rigs. It really depends on what you like the looks of, and what features you need/want. I don't like pop tops. I don't like the undertucking flap of the Javelin, either. I think riser protection and flaps are really important (i'm sure you agree!) I think they Vector is a nice rig and I would seriously consider it because of the skyhook. I like Mirage, too, but i'd have to look into it since a lot of people seem to complain about wrinkles since the cutter for the cypres has been moved. I'm not a huge fan of the look of wings and infinities, but many are. It is up to you! -A
  18. I say, if you have a cypres, use it! We buy them as safety devices, we put them in our rigs and hope we never need them... but if that day comes and your shit is in Germany, then what was the point of having one to begin with. So, in short, if you don't want to use a cypres, don't use one. But if you bought one in order to increase your safety in general OR on certain types of jumps, then you should seriously consider that again when you decide to jump without a cypres. I didn't buy one because I thought the cutter was pretty. If cypres weren't available, i'd still jump. I would freefly, etc, just like I did when I didn't have a cypres. But, they are available, and i'll be damned if I invested in one so that someone may one day find my dead body without a cypres in my rig because something unexpected happened in freefall. Shit happens, plan for it! -A
  19. Doesn't Mirage offer a discount to Military? -A
  20. Ok, then to keep on topic I think that is a nice way to look at things:) Maybe one day i'll feel a little more ethical about it, too, as my views often change.
  21. I don't know where I plan to live ultimately, it might not even be in the US. No plans yet either way, but I would like to go to a school that is recognized as good regardless of where I go. LOL!! I'll try to keep quiet so I don't have to smack down some political recruiters. Unfortunately, tho, in order to claim residency the second year, i'll have to ... dun dun dun.. VOTE! -A
