  1. Neither. It's not an episode of CSI at all. You might wanna tune into CBS tonight at 7:00pm central time to watch Navy NCIS though. watching it, and its kinda funny to listen to what they have to say ~D Where troubles melt like lemon drops Away above the chimney tops That's where you'll find me. 4. Almost right. It's actually the total weight that the canopy will need to support, including itself (exit weight) / square footage of the canopy. well, yeah, and edited ~D Where troubles melt like lemon drops Away above the chimney tops That's where you'll find me. 5. Wingloading is Weight of skydiver(+gear,clothes,etc... called exit weight) / SqFt of canopy Generally speaking a 1:1 wingloading is the highest recomended for a new jumper. edit for: so a 190lb exit weight on a 170 canopy would be a 1.117:1 wingloading. -example2- a 190lb exit weight on a 210 canopy would be a .904:1 wingloading ~D Where troubles melt like lemon drops Away above the chimney tops That's where you'll find me. 6. Everything they said, plus for some people, ok most people, it takes some getting used to to actually land on thier feet. I know my first few jumps we not stand up landings. I sat down a few before I figured out how to stay standing. ~D Where troubles melt like lemon drops Away above the chimney tops That's where you'll find me. 10. The different models are made from different fabrics. SO by looking up the type of canopy that it is you can see what it is made of. ~D Where troubles melt like lemon drops Away above the chimney tops That's where you'll find me. 17. Most containers will fit at least one size smaller than they are rated for. i.e. A container for a 210 should probally fit a 190. All this is dependant on the canopy type and such. ~D Where troubles melt like lemon drops Away above the chimney tops That's where you'll find me. 19. The acceleration is of freefall. You still have to meet the USPA requirements to get a lic. My jumps were: 1:Tandem 2-8:Aff 1-7 9-10:Solo 10-20:Coach jumps 20-23: solo Then I got my lic. I think like jump 24 was my checkdive. ~D Where troubles melt like lemon drops Away above the chimney tops That's where you'll find me. 20. The reason for the incidents forum is so that we can learn from the experiences that others have. You shouldn't read through thier with a mindset of 'all this could happen to me so I better not go' But rather with the mindset of 'these are things that can happen, now that I know about them I can work to prevent them happening' The goal of a FJC is to teach you how to deal with problems that arise while skydiving, how to prevent problems, and how to be safe around other people. (That and the basic skill set) What can I say to make you feel better? Well, for the most part we have all been there. We have all had the feelings (for the most part) that would try and keep us from going. They do go away, eventually your mind will give in to the reality that you can jump out of a plane, and have a decent degree of saftey, an acceptable level of risk, and a whole lot of fun. I was pretty worried about all the crap that could go wrong for awhile, I have kinda gotten used to knowing about it, and having to deal with some problems already has made me confident that I can deal with emergency procedures. I gained this through practice, and learning. Have fun and blue skies! ~D Where troubles melt like lemon drops Away above the chimney tops That's where you'll find me.
