  1. This is a different situation.... IMO hardly comparable to the one first posted. In the article you posted, it appears on the surface that the broadcast company is wrong... I can agree with that. The first case is different. These people were told NOT to go to the concert due to its political stance... The workers disobeyed and as a result were fired. End of story. Insubordination is a firable offence. The News agency (paper) did not want the their employees in a situation which might comprimise their journalistic integrety. If a teacher often frequents NAMBLA meetings I am sure he too could be fired. The meetings are legal, however, they may draw critisism that the school does not with to deal with. As such if the school orders him not to go to the meetings, and he continues to go, I see grounds for termination. And yes I will say it.... If you don't like the terms of your job, then get a new one. You have that right. I have a job with a security clearence... This causes me to not associate with some groups or people I may want to. But that is too bad for me, and if I choose to do those things, my clearence and job would be terminated... It was my choice to take the job. ----------------------------------------------------- Sometimes it is more important to protect LIFE than Liberty
  2. I completely agree with this, unless they were attending the concert for the purpose of writing a piece on it in the paper. It is the same reason why CNN should get rid of James Carville.... He works for the Kerry Camp... CONFLICT OF INTEREST working for Kerry and a "News" agency. What if Bill O'Reilly worked for the Bush camp and FOx News at the same time? What would you think then? ----------------------------------------------------- Sometimes it is more important to protect LIFE than Liberty
  3. I think the "Torricelli Principal" is the main reason why both the Clinton and Bush administrations were in the dark about the REAL threat we faced from terrorism. Senator Torricelli single handedly made this country less safe than it was before he was elected. Thanks to the Bush administration the Torricelli Principal is being broken down, and new way to gather intel are being put in place.... With someone like Kerry in office, we will quickly shift back to the pre-9/11 - torricelli principal era .... If that is what you want, vote Kerry... doesn't bother me. What you fail to understand I think though is the amount of information that is brought to the President on a daily basis. It is the job of the Pres and his/her advisors to determine what is credible, significant, and imminent. THe information about 9/11 was none of those thing in the weeks before the attack. I have read the report... I am not saying the Pres did everything he could have, but hindsight is 20-20. It was a bit more difficult to connect the dots than you think.... also, I see no problems with his response to the attacks. ----------------------------------------------------- Sometimes it is more important to protect LIFE than Liberty
  4. I read this and was quite surprised. It actually seems like Putin understands the problem. However, Putin, IMO is screwing up Russia and pushing back to a Communist country, that said, he seems to understand the real situation with the terrorists. http://www.cnn.com/2004/WORLD/europe/10/18/putin.iraq/index.html ----------------------------------------------------- Sometimes it is more important to protect LIFE than Liberty
  5. I think we should really be worried about France... It is now coming out that Politicians there were dircectly bribed by SH.... Sad. Oh, and France was selling weapons to Iraq which were sanctioned by the UN. THANKS FRANCE!!!!! ----------------------------------------------------- Sometimes it is more important to protect LIFE than Liberty

  10. This for some reason doesn't surprise me anymore.... Amazing how only a select few news news outlets are covering it. NY Post is one of them. http://www.mensnewsdaily.com/archive/newswire/news2004/1004/100904-halperin.htm http://www.drudgereport.com/mh.htm ----------------------------------------------------- Sometimes it is more important to protect LIFE than Liberty
  11. can't believe i am going to say this I agree with bill. Instead of having new laws... let's just enforce the ones we got already. Murder is murder whether it is racially motivated or not. Assault is Assault. the list goes on!!! ----------------------------------------------------- Sometimes it is more important to protect LIFE than Liberty
  12. You are exactly right, I am not going to disagree with that statement. However, when people blame the Jews as a class of people for the "Worlds Problems" stricktly from a religious stand point, then they are being, IMO, anti-semetic. ----------------------------------------------------- Sometimes it is more important to protect LIFE than Liberty
  13. I beg to differ... though the circumstances may have been different, the vote was for the same thing. The vote in the first Gulf war to give the Pres the authority to use force if necessary in Iraq. Kerry Voted no because as he said, the vote to authorize force is a vote for war. In 2002 Kerry voted for the Authorization to use force in Iraq if Necessary. Now he says it was not the same as a vote for war. It was the same vote at a different time. With the same potential outcome.... ----------------------------------------------------- Sometimes it is more important to protect LIFE than Liberty
  14. It's really sad that people can only defend the actions of the Israeli government by labelling anyone who criticizes her as as anti-semitic. Nope... I didn't label bill as an antisemite... read what I said. However, I did say many people in Bill's school of thought are antisemites. I am not dumb enough to accuse someone I don't know of being racist based on just the people he/she associates with. However, there is a general sympathy in the democratic camp with the "Palastinians" and not with the Isrealies. I willpost an example or two after my meeting. As I try to post carefully, please do the same. If you have questions about what I wrote, please reread it and take notes. 15. Yes they voted to autorize the use of force> Kerry's own words said it was the same in 91 when he voted against the Gulf war, because that vote was escentially a vote to go to war... Can't have it both ways!!!! ----------------------------------------------------- Sometimes it is more important to protect LIFE than Liberty
  16. OK ... here is my take after watching the entire debate. Now, remember, I am a republican, and I will be voting for bush no matter how the debate turned out. In the beginning of the debate I felt GWB had the upper hand. I felt he hit home a few messages on the Flip-flopping... he had to! Kerry was obviously nervous through the first 15-20 mins, his hand were shaking quite a bit. There were no real ZINGER however, but each canidate did have one or two GOOD "one-liners" Kerry: SH did not attack us OBL did. Bush: How do you expect to build a coalition? Ask them to join a Grand Diversion. Some of the facts Kerry spewed out were not true, and that was bothersome... Some things that Kerry said such as OBL would be caught by now... also that OBL is in Afganistan. How does he know that? If he knows where he is, maybe he should tell someone. In Afganistan we had 9000+ troops. Once the war in Iraq began, the number of troops in Afganistan increased ... JFK would lead you to believe otherwise. However, Kerry did much better than I thought he would. I believe Bush could have "Put him away" but he didn't hit home the points he needed to. That is Bush's biggest problem IMO. He is not a good speaker... The question really is: Will the people believe Mr. Kerry's word. He has changed it so many times on Iraq, and now that he has a position will it change? Again, I am voting Bush that was never going to change, however, I think JFK may get a little push from this, but nothing sustaining. 17. Of course I can't say for sure. But it seems likely. Jenin has a population of less than 30K. NYC is over 7M. But that really wasn't my point. Man, you're all over the place here. This was a thread about how much it sucked that a bunch of kids got blown into little pieces on purpose. Your only response is that Isrealis do it sometimes to Palestinians who happen to be sitting next to a known terrorist. Then you defend that specious comparison by saying the we are also accidentally killing a bunch of Iraqis. So is your agument that unless we are perfect in only killing the actual terrorists who hides themselves and their hide-outs among crowds, kids, suburbs, and schools, then its OK for them to respond by putting car bombs in children's events? I noticed Bill never responded to this one ... Guess he was busy. The thing is, there is a difference. Don't even get me started on the Isreal/palastine conflict. The amount of anti-semitism on the left is sickening. Don't get me wrong... I am not accusing you Bill of being an antisemite, however, many in your school of thought are... Just an observation. It amazes me that most Jew still vote Democrat even though it is quite obvious that the Republicans are looking out for Isreal and the Democrats are not. Anarchy!

Anarchy has been given a bad rap by authoritarian governments. It is a legitimate model for running society. May take a little getting used to. Funny you say that Kallend.... Some would say it is anarchy in IRAQ right now. Do you think that it is a good model to run their society? ----------------------------------------------------- Sometimes it is more important to protect LIFE than Liberty

  23. Sorry that I wasn't more clear on this but let me clarify. Even AFTER IGNORING homeland security and Iraq, Bush increased spending more in 3 years than any other president in history. In fact, by more than Clinton did in all 8 years. Yes, and I pay the balance off every month so that I don't have to pay interest. Otherwise, when something costs a dollar, you end up paying $1.06. In real world terms, the $445 Billion deficit for this year, will cost us an EXTRA $27 Billion that will have to be paid later. Let's see...what did Kerry vote for in the Senate. Let me use one of your sides famous flip flop examples. He voted for $87 billion in Iraq before he voted against it. To be specific: He voted FOR the $87 billion for Iraq in a bill that DIDN'T INCLUDE TAX BREAKS. Then he voted AGAINST the $87 billion for Iraq when the bill INCLUDED TAX BREAKS. You call that flip flopping. I call that being consistent on his stated policy to REDUCE DEFICIT SPENDING. Kerry has his priorities mixed up then... He is putting tax cuts over the safety of our troops!!!!! That is wrong and now I definately won't vote for him!!! ----------------------------------------------------- Sometimes it is more important to protect LIFE than Liberty
