Funny, but this is an underactive tropical season so far...Sorry to dissapoint you. It just happens that 2 major hurricanes have hit the us in as many weeks. We are currently at only 9 named storms though. An active year maybe closer to 12. Don't be surprized next year if there are hardly any since it is an El Nino pattern next year. I think back to the ideologies of the Democratic party in the past, and their current Ideologies. I wonder what happened. When did things get so far off course? One famous quote sticks out in my mind. JFK - "Ask not what your country can do for you - ask what you can do for your country." That statement alone shows the vast difference between then and now. The democratic party has slowly but surely been pushing closer and closer toward the left and embracing instead an attituted that the Government owes the people not the otherway around. I feel Kerry wants to be president because he wants to be president AND thinks he can do some good. I think Bush wants to be president because he thinks he can do some good and because he's a born again former coke head alcoholic who replaced those addictions with the addiction of religion and thinks he is part of some vast universal destiny. Given that Germany declared war on the USA in 1941, that would have been impossible. I guess you wish to revise history. Given that Al QUeda declared war on the USA in 92... The reasons and motivations are different. THe reason Kerry gets criticized for changing his stance is primarily due to the reasons for his changing positions. Look, everyone changes their mind, but what causes that is the concern. We all know GWB is a man of conviction. WHether you agree with him or not, when he makes his mind up he usually sees it to fruition. Kerry, however, has been know to change his mind on important issues NOT because of knew information, but instead because something may not be popular with his voting demographic. I look at Lieberman (D) as a much stronger canidate than Kerry, Because Lieberman is a man of conviction. Kerry was for this war... Up until Dean started winning primaries based on his opposition to the war. Then the flip-flopping began. I wouldn't mind if he changed opinions... he is entitled to that, but I think his reasons are not genuine, and overall I don't think he is a genuine person. I just want to remind you there were no computers then.
