OK here is a scenerio.... Election Day 2004: Huge Al Queda attack in Boston, MA. All of Eastern MA is shut down. Eastern MA is notoriously Liberal and western MA is much more conservative. The country votes and Bush leads by a very small margin. The MA results come in .... Kerry's own state, and the results show Bush wins MA. Why? Because of the attack 75% of the voting population couldn't get to vote. So, what happens????? The Liberals cry foul say Bush really wasn't elected and they spend months in court tring to figure it out!!!! Careful What you wish for. I personally think a "Back-up" plan is a good idea. The DCI does not report to the SIC, he reports to POTUS. So as The Buck moves its way up the chain of command, it stops in the Oval Office, not in the Senate. If Bush did not like the way CIA was run, he could have asked for DCI's resignation the day he was installed as President. The report states there was no overt pressure to come up with bogus intel. What the report conspicuously fails to mention is the climate in this administration that if you're not with us you're agin us, and a low tolerance for dissenting opinion. You say the climate was with us or against us as if there was no dissenting at all. Cheney himself told the Pres NOT to go to the UN. Powel told Bush he didn't care he was going to the UN anyway, and so it was. I find what you say very difficult to believe. We are talking about a large group of people all looking at the same information and all coming up with the same answers. Infact several other Countries agreed the data were right. Now, Bush decided to do something about it. Many countries didn't want to act... Fine, but they did not dispute the Intel which said Iraq has and had WMD and were actively researching Nuclear capabilities. Even Mr. Blix agreed with that. Well first of all more than Half the country is NOT noticing. There are several people reporting lots of WMD showed up in Syria. It is a fact that WMD from Iraq showed in Holland.... So, where did it come from. THere are WMD in Iraq, but the argument is that the programs to create more were noth there like the Intel said they would be. OK fair enough i will give them that. OK... question I have heard going around and yet haven't heard an answer. The Senate voted to go into IRAQ. They did this based on Intel from the CIA and FBI. THis same Intel they based their decision on is said to be bad. So, who over sees the Intel and the CIA??? The Senate Intelligence Committee is a group formed for the sole purpose of Checking and balancing what is to be discerned from the information out of the FBI and CIA. Then why are these same people criticizing the president over WMD for the past year. Now these same people put out a report which says the President didn't know anymore than them. How is it that you can go after the president when it was your group that didn't do its job in the first place? What benny says it True except we should add that in most states a person under consenting age can have sex with another indevidual under consenting age without breaking a law. I am going to vote based on one thing and one thing only this time around. This is the question I will ask myself since i think terrorism is our biggest threat and problem. Who would OBL want to be elected... Kerry or Bush? My opinion is he would rather see Kerry in office. I am voting Bush. Why, because it is toothless.... After going into Iraq the first time we demanded they give up all weapons programs and destroy what they had left of WMD. THe USA left it up to the UN to make sure this happened. What this shows is that the intel Bush has/had is the same that the previous administration had. Liberal love to blame the Bush admin for their "Bad Intel" on Iraq. Which truthfully we don't know what is true or false anymore as far as that intel goes...... BUt it looks more like an institutional thought instead of a single leaders thoughts. We can't say what Clinton would have done if 9/11 happened on his watch, because it would be speculation. But, based on what he was told, he may have made the same types of decisions as Bush as far as fighting terrorism ever where ever it is.
