Try a PM to ChopChop. He made himself some great custom stuff. I'm sure he'll hate me for this, but.... ....and while you are at it RoysPlayThing can do a custom paint job for you! ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Peace and Blue Skies! Bonnie ==>Gravity Gear!

I hate people who think that Skydivers don't love and welcome everyone into our sport. Honestly. We'll take everyone we can get. I mean, insanity loves company, right? ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Peace and Blue Skies! Bonnie ==>Gravity Gear! -
They need more airspeed to inflate than a Kill Line. So hop 'n pops and such can cause pilot chute hesitation. That can lead to poor body position on deployment, if you look over the shoulder. Also, the bungee wears fairly quickly and become inefective. I used to jump one a few years back. One hop 'n 'pop from 2k at night scared the crap out of me. My final straw for becoming anti-bungee was a fatality at Skydive Lake Tahoe. Before his jump his packer, asked him WTF this was. Referring to his PC. Basically he said it was a piece of shit that he has been meaning to switch to a Kill Line. He was doing a speed jump where he lost altitude awareness, flared out late, chucked his Bungee PC. It hesitated, he fired his reserve which opened hard enough to tear his aorta. Granted it was a combination of poor gear maintenance and altitude awareness. But still. Any "factor" we can eliminate is worth eliminating. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Peace and Blue Skies! Bonnie ==>Gravity Gear!

It's such a waste of energy keeping score on a national level - petty too. Agreed. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Peace and Blue Skies! Bonnie ==>Gravity Gear!

My answer is that you seem to think that money is the only form of aid. Also. There are plenty of American Tourist that are free to come and go in their countries. Can they come here to vacation? Let alone help out? Hmmm. Do you think they would get a visa? There have been plenty of times in my life when I wanted to help out in any given situation. I had no money, so I rolled up my sleeves instead. Physical aid is as important as monitary aid. If not more so. I don't think that any of those countries would be in a monitary position to help with a Cali devastation. I do think that the desire to help out would exsist, but would not be easily facilitated by our country. So you are comparing apples to oranges. But as I said. The Thai people could have just run to safety. But there are countless stories of Thais waking sleeping tourists on the beach, grabbing children, etc. In fact after the devastation, they are not only trying to make sense of their own loss, but they are setting up camps to help the tourists find their loved ones. Folks of all races are helping each other out there. We are sitting here in our heated offices and homes typing complaints on a computer in some sort of virtual reality as though our opinion really matters! ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Peace and Blue Skies! Wow! You seem to be misinformed. I mean, all you had to do was watch CNN to see how many tourist that local Thai people SAVED. I have first hand accounts of the Thai people saving several Swedish tourist. So yes, I can "see any of the countries we are helping now ever helping us???? " It's not a pissing match to see who can whip out the largest check book to buy band-aids. There are plenty of people doing the dirty work with the money that is coming in. Have a look at WHO is hauling off the bodies. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Peace and Blue Skies! Bonnie ==>Gravity Gear!

IMHO a rig as ill-fitting as this one could not be a great deal. If you PM me the details, I can see if I have something more suitable to swap out with her/you. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Peace and Blue Skies! Bonnie ==>Gravity Gear!

On really hot days at the DZ, we use that hand sanitizer stuff. I know you're thinking, "Gross". But if you jumped at a DZ that got over 100 deg in the summer with no running water, you would do it too! ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Peace and Blue Skies! Bonnie ==>Gravity Gear!

Oh my gawd! I loved that movie! And that line! ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Peace and Blue Skies! Bonnie ==>Gravity Gear!

My opinion is to get a helmet that is rated for impact. Consider a skateboarding helmet if you don't like the snowboarding helmets. The protect has several models that would work for you. http://www.pro-tec.net/ PM me if you need a hook up. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Peace and Blue Skies! Bonnie ==>Gravity Gear!

So maybe I should get XBASE now? No wait. I was just an ASS jumper. Never mind. I don't like the sound of that one. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Peace and Blue Skies! Bonnie ==>Gravity Gear!

Yellow and Orange offer the most contrast to the sky. So if you want to stand out on video, go big with the yellow. If you want to look good, but not stand out too much, then try Navy with the yellow sides and Silver pin stripe or no pin stripe. And remember. EVERY color on your rig does not have to be on your jumpsuit too. Sometimes that just looks like you are trying too hard. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Peace and Blue Skies! Bonnie ==>Gravity Gear!

Oh cool. I'll check the measurements to figure out which Andreas it was! See you soon! ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Peace and Blue Skies! Bonnie ==>Gravity Gear!

I can tell by the size of the rig that you ordered that it wasn't you. Pray tell, who was it and is he coming to the States or are you having a party for me when I come to Sweden? ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Peace and Blue Skies! Bonnie ==>Gravity Gear!

Aerodyne riser cable housing slipped out!
GravityGirl replied to ernokaikkonen's topic in Gear and Rigging
Good job. That is exactly what you should have done. If they haven't already fixed the problem, I'm sure they will now. This kind of thing comes up with all manufacturers more often than some people expect. There are three lines of defense. -Final inspection at the manufacturer -Inspection by your Dealer/Rigger -Your own inspection Looks like you caught yours on #3. I encourage people to become insanely curious about their gear. Know how it works. Inspect the various methods of construction and assembly. And ask, ask, ask. If you don't know how something works or why it is the way it is, find an answer. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Peace and Blue Skies! Bonnie ==>Gravity Gear! -
