Can you get a radio or TV station involved. Make a big grid in a landing area and have spectators come and bet which squares the skydivers are going to land in. Charge XXX per guess. The winning squares get XXX prize. Maybe make it a free tandem or some other fabulous prizes. I bet you can get some great prizes from the non-skydiving community too! Think big! Like cars, motorcycles, etc. Shoot for the moon. Even if you only make it half way, you'll end up with a star! Just a thought.... ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Peace and Blue Skies! Bonnie ==>Gravity Gear!

Speaking of Mr. Burke! I remember some 8 or 9 years ago, I had a little cypres incident in Quincy. When I got back to my booth, Brian handed me a glass of whiskey and said, "Thanks. I haven't seen anything that stupid in a while." ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Peace and Blue Skies! Bonnie ==>Gravity Gear! -
That will bleed green in the overlapping areas. It's hard to put dye exactly where you want it. You may want to consider a technique other than tie dye. Airbrush or Fabric Paint. How big are the panels? Before or after construction of the item? ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Peace and Blue Skies! Bonnie ==>Gravity Gear!

What do people want from a bad ass Freefly fest?

Good food. Showers. Party Favors. Fun organized jumps with unique photo ops. Unique entertainment at night. (Other than hookers.) ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Peace and Blue Skies! Bonnie ==>Gravity Gear! -
What is the logo going to be used for? Is this a t-shirt design or an actual product identity? Just curious because there are some factors you may want to consider. Like how it reproduces in black and white. How small can the logo be and still look good, etc. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Peace and Blue Skies! Bonnie ==>Gravity Gear!

You can order a demo from PD. That will help you make the most educated decision. We had a couple of seminars here called, "Flying the reserve." We had a full range of demo PD reserves for folks to fly. We had imaginary senarios that they got to play out in real life. It's a great experience. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Peace and Blue Skies! I'm taking it all. I mean you should see the home improvements I've done on the RV this year. I'm just kidding. We moved out of the RV last year. Your figures don't include ANY overhead. But the short answer is this. The market is small. The cost to produce the type of gear we use, and do the R & D to keep us all alive is substantial. But who cares? As long as we're all having fun! ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Peace and Blue Skies! Bonnie ==>Gravity Gear!

Once when I got stuck in downtown Oakland late at night wearing club clothing (or lack there of) and had to walk all the way to Alameda. Once when an ex-boyfriends roommate put a gun to my head. Once when I had no RSL or Cypres and ended up with a hard pull on my reserve. Once when I got hung up on a power tower and had four hours to think I was going to die. Actually, I only really thought that for about 20 minutes, then I just realized it was going to be a long night. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Peace and Blue Skies! Bonnie ==>Gravity Gear!

close call, exit seperation issue.

IMHO it's a good idea to get out last when going out with a new vertical jumper. If she was backsliding, then you were chasing. It's hard to backtrack in a perfectly straight line, so chances are, she was all over the place. And that's normal. But just plan for it. If you are out last, then you will know where the other group is. THat's good, since you will not KNOW where the newbie will end up. Also it will give you some more breathing room in case she wants to pull a little higher. Altitude awareness decays quickly when you are first getting on your head, so planning to stop and break off a little higher is a good idea. If you can't control the actions of others, try to look at what you CAN do to keep yourself and your girl a little safer.Gravity Gear! -

"Nobody knows how much you are truely worth until you tell them, and then show them. You have to ask for what you want. 9 out of 10, you'll get it." My last conversation with my friend Seth Blake. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Peace and Blue Skies! Bonnie ==>Gravity Gear!

I knew I should have worded that differently. That someone would take it wrong. That's why I followed up with: My point is. Learn the other aspect of skydiving first. That way he can understand the hows and whys that he is reading, and he can put it into context. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Peace and Blue Skies! Bonnie ==>Gravity Gear!

In a moment of frustration in the incident forums, I made a post about loosing it! I'm getting frustrated that young jumpers don't seem to be listening. ccowden brought up that there are lots of jumpers that do listen.... and survive! So please, do an old girl a favor and post me a nice story about how someone, somewhere along the line was able to steer you along the right path and how it has made a difference in your safety and success in this sport. I'll start: I was a 100 jump wonder. Quick to downsize. Found myself landing out and made a panic turn to avoid a fence. A fence that would not have been a factor had I more decision time under canopy. Had I not been soley focused on making it back. Luckily I escaped with a broken pelvis. I received plenty of tough love from the Bango Family and Marty at Bay Area Skydiving. Actually, I felt rather foolish for my canopy choices. I upsized. Came back some months later and continues a reasonable progression to my current Stiletto 89. If it had not been for Marty and the Bangos, I may not have been able to put things in the proper perspective, and I would not have been able to accomplish what I have so far in this sport. By the way. I've been so uncurrent lately that I'm thinking of upsizing. Next! ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Peace and Blue Skies! Bonnie ==>Gravity Gear! -

Pay attention in class and believe in yourself.... ....and have fun. Quit reading the incident reports. Learn from ground school and begin your experience and then come back to the incident reports for reference on what not to do. In drivers ed they teach you about the car and how it works. They let you get behind the wheel an practice the basics before they show you the gore movies. Imagine a 15 year old driving for the first time if she/he had just sat down and watched red asphalt! ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Peace and Blue Skies! Bonnie ==>Gravity Gear!
