  1. Hopefully this is just a public service announcement and not an advertisement! There are several gear stores that still carry the Time-Out batteries, including mine. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Peace and Blue Skies! Bonnie ==>Gravity Gear!
  2. Definately technique. Put your arm behind your back and touch the small of your back. Now have a really big guy grab your hand and yank up as hard as he can. (JOKING) But you get the gist. Your PC has a lot of drag. Your arm is already rotated when you reach back. Now the air catching your PC is trying to rotate your arm even futher. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Peace and Blue Skies! Bonnie ==>Gravity Gear!
  3. Don't hold on to the pilot chute too long. Pop that pin and give it a good throw. But obviously, I couldn't prevent it personally, so I switched back. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Peace and Blue Skies! Bonnie ==>Gravity Gear!
  4. Bob! Come compare shoulder bumbs with me this weekend. I have a nice fluid sack on my right shoulder. I contribute it directly to my pull-out. I had 1000 jumps on my pull-out. I loved it. I gave it up reluctantly. In the begining, I think I was holding on to it too long before I chucked it. But after one good tweak, I got really good at flicking the f@#! out of that thing. But every so often that p/c catches wind just so. I never really felt it until the monday or tuesday. That is the long and the short of why I have a throw out now. My shoulder still hurts after a stiff pull. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Peace and Blue Skies! Bonnie ==>Gravity Gear!
  5. Are you flying pieces? Launching stuff with grips other than hands? Building stair-step formations? If you answered yes to any of these question, you should consider grips on your next suit. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Peace and Blue Skies! Bonnie ==>Gravity Gear!
  6. Jeans and a T-shirt??? AND suit would offer more range. I was going to say, "Call Ray Farrell of Flite Suit and ask about Gills." But now you can just PM Skybitch! ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Peace and Blue Skies! Bonnie ==>Gravity Gear!
  7. Any time you change your deployment system, you need to receive instruction on packing and pull proceedure. Make sure you find someone with experience on a pull out system. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Peace and Blue Skies! Bonnie ==>Gravity Gear!
  8. Enjoy your new gear! Gravity Gear!
  9. I would rather pee in a green box than take a 15 minute bus ride. Unless I'm doing AFF. I loved that one on one time to debreif when I worked in SD. OKAY! Secret is out. None of the DZs in Nor Cal are perfect. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Peace and Blue Skies! Bonnie ==>Gravity Gear!

    base parents?

If I was a very experienced BASE jumper when I got pregnant, I MIGHT have decided to continue jumping. But I was very much a novice and already enrolled in the school of hard knocks. So I chose to hang it up. Pun intended. It is a very dangerous sport. So don't fool yourself. And you cannot fool a mother. If you are willing to accept the risk and pursue your passion, your Mom will see how happy it makes you. She may not like the risk factor, but if she loves you, she'll grow to accept your choice. Just make good choices, and make her proud. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Peace and Blue Skies! Bonnie ==>Gravity Gear!
  11. Um. Can I vote. Bay Area Skydiving because I'm there. And if you draw a triangle between the other three drop zones, we are in the middle. So if you don't like us, you can always move on to plan B. But of course, "What is not to love?" ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Peace and Blue Skies! Bonnie ==>Gravity Gear!
  12. IMHO without knowing all of your details; The Diablo 150 would not be an appropriate canopy for you. Why do you find that particular canopy of interest? ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Peace and Blue Skies! Bonnie ==>Gravity Gear!
  13. I have no regrets for any of my "Get up and Go" adventures. I have always come back more knowlegdible, with more contacts and therefore more marketable. Perhaps consider getting the CC for backup. Make as many contacts as you can before you go. In various countries, DZs, etc. That way you can find a place to crash and make some side money. I used to travel with hemp and beads to make necklaces to sell. One necklace could mean food for a couple of days. Locally in the US, it was T-shirts as some of you may well know. My point is, you can travel indefinately if you are willing to do a little hard work here and there, if you are outgoing and willing to try new things. I'm a Mom living a very ordinary life now. Looking back, I have no regrets. No wishfull thinking, "I wish I had..." I can truely appreciate the motherhood phase now without feeling like I missed out on ANYTHING! So, go get it. Just keep that bill down. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Peace and Blue Skies! Bonnie ==>Gravity Gear!
  14. Okay. You just freaked me out with the title of the thread. Did you get your battery changed in your cypres? ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Peace and Blue Skies! Bonnie ==>Gravity Gear!
  15. You listed all the components for the main. Did he/she loose the cutaway or reserve handle? Was the freebag for the reserve recovered? p.s. When you buy a main parachute, it comes with links, line and an attachment point. Nothing more. Everything else is considered part of the container. But I guess you knew that by now. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Peace and Blue Skies! Bonnie ==>Gravity Gear!
  16. Every spring more of your friends die. Some are maimed others crippled for life. You loose friends, lovers, children loose fathers and mothers. You watch young jumpers walking around with a complete diregard for safety as if none of that ever mattered. It's just a guess. But maybe that's how some people burn out on skydiving. But for others it's like th e"Hotel California", you can check out any time you like, but you can't never leave..... ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Peace and Blue Skies! Bonnie ==>Gravity Gear!
  17. But you didn't even look to see the other guy before you pulled. Perhaps in your effort to film the guy tracking, you were also backsliding? ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Peace and Blue Skies! Bonnie ==>Gravity Gear!
  18. One of my favorite quotes from my husband, "Shit, he got away with it. Now he's gonna think it's okay." ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Peace and Blue Skies! Bonnie ==>Gravity Gear!
  19. That promotion is over. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Peace and Blue Skies! Bonnie ==>Gravity Gear!
  20. Jeez Wendy! How old were you??? ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Peace and Blue Skies! Bonnie ==>Gravity Gear!
  21. And Stephan Hudak SHOULD be reached. That was a wonderful, educated, non-judgmental article. Kudos for taking the time and doing the research. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Peace and Blue Skies! Bonnie ==>Gravity Gear!
  22. Chris, You just rock! ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Peace and Blue Skies! Bonnie ==>Gravity Gear!
  23. Now that is funny! Thanks! ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Peace and Blue Skies! Bonnie ==>Gravity Gear!
  24. For a womans body, I like Bev Hot Bod Suit or the Flite Suit Princess Cut. Merlin Suits will also rock your female figure! All three are great! Some deciding factors to consider: What does your local dealer carry? By using someone local you will be measured and have the customer service readily available. What appeals to you style wise? Because after all, looking good is feeling good, and feeling good is flying good.... or something like that! ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Peace and Blue Skies! Bonnie ==>Gravity Gear!
  25. You can buy the washers in the hardware store. The hole should not be so tight that it cuts into the material and the entire thing should obviously not fit through the grommet hole. When I get to the store, I'll check the diameter for you. What kind of cord did you use? ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Peace and Blue Skies! Bonnie ==>Gravity Gear!
