Way to go! Glad to see you are getting some air! ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Peace and Blue Skies! Bonnie ==>Gravity Gear!

That's funny. It's quite the opposite for me. The smaller my canopy gets, the HIGHER my deployment altitude. I tried the one hand method for a while until I used it and my hand slipped off my cutaway. I was able to stop myself in time, but I was soooo close to firing that reserve that it convinced me to go back to two hands on the cutaway. I have had 8 reserve rides... ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Peace and Blue Skies! Bonnie ==>Gravity Gear!

Pete Swan in Lodi works wonders with Nylon. Even BASE gear. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Peace and Blue Skies! Bonnie ==>Gravity Gear! -
I would call the manufacturer and discuss your finding. You may end up sending it in for testing. Performance Designs has amazing customer service. They also rely on feedback from their customers to further perfect their products. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Peace and Blue Skies! Bonnie ==>Gravity Gear!

I did a total cutaway from my carreer in the silicon valley about 8 years ago and started selling t-shirts at boogies. I bought a van and my first run of t-shirts with my savings. Left with a few hundred dollars. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Peace and Blue Skies! Bonnie ==>Gravity Gear!

Buy a case of beer and some pizza and tell your friends (the buffed ones) that you are having a party. Oh. And try to invite the ones with big trucks. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Peace and Blue Skies! Bonnie ==>Gravity Gear!

Will you hair be green this weekend? Don't worry about not knowing anyone at Byron. That lasts about 5 minutes. We can sniff out fresh meat. You won't be allowed to loiter alone for long. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Peace and Blue Skies! Bonnie ==>Gravity Gear!

When I lived in the city, it was easy. I'ld just put them in a box with a "FREE" sign on it. They'd be gone before I got back from work. Even the box. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Peace and Blue Skies! Bonnie ==>Gravity Gear!

I sell many different brands of glasses and goggles in my store. But because of my pin-head and contacts, Flex-Z still work the best for me. Have you tried the mini's? They are more comfortable. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Peace and Blue Skies! Bonnie ==>Gravity Gear!

Help me plan my trip from OR to AZ
GravityGirl replied to skydivingdutch's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
Start in Mollala. Hit Creswell. Then Eugene. Then Paradise. Then Davis. Then Lodi. Over to Byron. Down to Hollister. Little further to Monterey. Over and down to Taft. Down to Elsinore. Over to Perris. Across to Cal City. Cross the border to Buckeye. Southeast to Coolidge. Down to Eloy. Continue on to Marana. And good luck making it to your final destination! ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Peace and Blue Skies! Bonnie ==>Gravity Gear! -

I prefer soft links for ease of maintenance, less wear and tear on gear, easy to spot a problem, and less packing bulk. However, I don't oppose rapid links. They work well when properly maintained. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Peace and Blue Skies! Bonnie ==>Gravity Gear!

In all seriousness Mike, your helmet should fit snug, but not painfull. Keep in mind that the padding will break down a little to conform to your head with wear. But if you are experiencing any amount of pain, then it's too small. If the pain is in one spot in the back of your head and that is alleviated when you squeeze the sides together, then baking may do the trick. But only if it's a small amount. If you really need to crank on it to get it to fit right, then you should exchange it for a larger size. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Peace and Blue Skies! Bonnie ==>Gravity Gear!

Oh, I could have so much fun with this one. But really your best bet is to read the instructions on boneheads web site as was recommended. Now for a funny story. The best one I saw was (a now somewhat famous jumper) bake his helmet, put it on, close his head in a door then stuck his head in the freezer. He swears it worked like a charm. I usually don't recommend that proceedure, even though I was eager to assist with the proceedure. Besides that guy also thought it was cool to wear a Bat Rack without the rack. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Peace and Blue Skies! Bonnie ==>Gravity Gear!

IMHO, I would set you up with a PD 160 reserve. It pairs well with both the 170 main and the 150 main. I am not aware of your exit weight, so check the manufacturers recommendations for your exit weight and experience level. Flying a 170 main, then having a reserve ride on a 143 reserve would prove to be very stressfull. I have held several reserve canopy seminars and events, where all experience levels got to jump their own size reserve. Maybe one size larger and in some cases one size smaller. The end results of these seminars greatly influence my recommendations to my customers. I have had customers upsize as a result of flying what they currently had in their container. Feel free to PM me if you have any direct questions. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Peace and Blue Skies! Bonnie ==>Gravity Gear!

I still jump them. I recommend pulling them tight and then securing that position with a small supertac stitch. Otherwise then tend to slip after a couple hundred jumps. I just hate having to adjust one more thing on each jump. You really dont want them loose. They'll spank you in the butt and it's really not okay to have stuff flapping by your deployment system. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Peace and Blue Skies! Bonnie ==>Gravity Gear!
