    I was at about 23.6% federal income tax. Add on top of that my property tax, CA income, sales tax, and FICA and it starts to get up there.

    For me, it comes down to what is the best for promoting US interests. If pissing on dead people helps us achieve our goals, I don't have much objection. If it interferes with us achieving our goals, I'm against it. I expect that the military is pretty clear in training as to what is and is not appropriate behavior in best achieving our goals. If not a part of basic training, I would be amazed, and it should be.

    $40 at Home Depot, slightly less in quantity. I bought one to try in the wife's kitchen, and it has surprisingly wide beam width -- quite usable with the can light spacing she had for incandescents. I'll still limit their use to lights that are on a lot; otherwise they will never pay for themselves vs. incandescents, much less vs. FL or CFL.     And this was a great policy. Cost us 1.5 trillion, over 4000 US lives, over 100k civilian Iraqi lives. Dancing in the streets in Iraq earlier today. Iran and Iraq exchanging bodies from their war, on their way to becoming allies. Yes, lets give Bush all of the credit for the Iraq war. Not that I'm saying anything good about BHO -- I am not.

    There have been times, decades ago, that I had WAY too much to be driving, and many time where I was at least somewhat affected. Last St. Patrick's day, the 20 year old daughter of a friend was out with 3 of her friends, and they got hit by a drunk. Injuries to 2 of the 3 friends, but my friend's daughter had brain damage, along with her broken pelvis and leg. Although she is making progress, she will never be the same. She has the short term memory of a severe Alzheimers case, and compared to before, the quiet personality of someone who has had a lobotomy. I decided that I don't want to ever be that guy -- the one who drank and changed peoples lives forever for the worse.
