So you would have been okay with Wright elected, not just a fringe distraction? Not me.

No, but there is a Concorde on display. There is also good, but not great, diving to be had. My sister in law rents a house there for 2-3 weeks every January. Have fun!

That doesn't mean that they shouldn't be taxed.

Jumping a Strato Flyer - Hints please..
headoverheels replied to dgw's topic in Skydiving History & Trivia
I ordered a new one when they first came out. Lucky for me, they were back ordered, and the word got out soon enough that I could change my order to a Strato Cloud. -
Back in the day, a good cardboard box was available in most dumpsters. That was trickle down prosperity. Not anymore. Try finding a good cardboard box these days.

Your comment made me laugh. That is exactly what Glen Beck would say.

I don't either. I go and get more money from those that have it.

Old enough to complain, but still has his hearing.

I don't know, but he was in Georgia (Jim's place there) in the mid-70's. I left there in '76. -
Looks like a robber to me.

Missing Lieve Demeyer - 6/17/2010
headoverheels replied to jumpsalot-2's topic in Blue Skies - In Memory Of
Thanks for putting up that video Mike. I didn't know Lieve that well, but liked her and was glad to see her return to Lodi. She would video our belly fly jumps when she was available. -
If you mean a piece of furniture to sleep on, it is "couch" or "sofa" not "coach." If you mean a vehicle to sleep in, maybe "coach" (rare) (and people don't want their vehicle crashed). If you mean someone to teach you, yes "coach." (and you should avoid crashing on your coach).

BBQ chicken and red onion is pretty good with pineapple.

And at my house. And at my wife's house. The control on mine is a remote. Unfortunately, it will not work through the door, so I haven't been able to surprise some unsuspecting soul by firing it up from another room while they are seated. RF to IR repeater when I get around to it.

I'm sure everyone who reads BF regularly has different ideas who this may be. However I'll bet that the majority are thinking of the same person. No, Kev, I was thinking that you are the perfect candidate. Need coaching, but not totally a lost case.

I'd suggest having enough cash together to complete the AFF program, plus a number of jumps, before training starts. If you only do a few jumps, then pick up a month or two later, you will end up taking more jumps and money to complete your training. If you train at Lodi, you should use Ed. He has his own student program there; he's not a dropzone employee. I don't know, but I'm guessing that it costs a bit more, but people say it is worth it. Not sure what his weight limit is. You can find him here on DZ.com as bodypilot1.

Skydiving and Traumatic Brain Injury
headoverheels replied to lanceav8r's topic in Safety and Training
When I started skydiving, everyone wore motorcycle helmets. Open face, not the wrap-around with face shields (I don't think those even existed). If you could afford a Bell, that is what you bought. If you were a cash starved college student, you bought one at Kmart or equivalent. I still have mine somewhere, I think. Maybe I'll take it and my double-zipper jumpsuit out to the DZ this weekend. -
Nothing, since "W" told me that it wasn't a priority.

If his deer and bulls get out and hassle them or their animals/children, yes.

Once you get low, it is difficult to keep sight of the formation while assuming the slowest fall rate position. So, don't get low to begin with and you will probably have less trouble. Your height/weight shouldn't make you fall extremely fast, especially if you don't have a tight jumpsuit of slick material. If you are jumping with a bunch of slow fallers, you could see if someone has some slip-on sleeves that you could try -- they will slow you down considerably. If you really only have 30 jumps, you would be a LOT better served by sticking to 2-3 ways. You will advance much faster.

HP-35, which you would know if your were qualified to date as a nerd.

Yes the PAC was a bit here and there, but not "dangerous" as far as I saw. Some plane over on right trail wing was to the left of its position and way low, IIRC. Dangerous as in getting pretty close to a vegamatic position.
-
There was also a trail aircraft dangerously out of position on one jump.
