    Well, search engine addiction means that I know a fair amount about stuff that I should just be paying others to know/do (car mechanics, HVAC design, plumbing, roofing). Unfortunately, those seem more interesting to me these days that electronic design.

    I haven't seen service get worse and worse, and the increase in postage costs seems pretty reasonable compared to many prices over the past 20 years. I can't agree with this statement at all. They are too big for what their new level of demand has become. But I'd rather see week days go before Saturday, since UPS and Fedex generally don't work that day. (Though I'd hate to be an employee with Sunday, Tue, Thur off) I agree. The only thing I really dislike about USPS vs the other package carriers is that their tracking sucks.

    Where do you get "less jobs?" The jobs moved, they didn't go away. The unfair price advantage of companies such as Amazon, Abe's, etc over local companies, since customers can pretty much escape the sales tax (even when owen, as in California) makes it even more difficult for local business to continue to exist.

    Funny enough, the customers already owe the tax, called "use tax" instead of "sales tax." It is just that Amazon et.al. have not been obligated to collect the tax. California residents are obligated to pay the tax on items bought outside CA for use in CA.

    They did get your money, didn't they? And they managed to do it at a pretty low cost for their overhead. Looks like good management to me, speaking as a stock holder and not a customer.

    The straw poll has only been won by the eventual Republican primary candidate once in the last 5 times (plus one tie). Bragging rights for the winner don't really extend beyond just that.

    I can't refi, but it is because I did in March and signed an agreement not to do so for 180 days. If nothing changes, I'll be doing a re-fi in late September, and drop my rate another .75% or so. I'm doing my part on the economy -- I pulled out $250k in my refi and it will all go for house remodel/repairs this year.
